“Rebecca does a wonderful job taking care of my kitties when I'm away. I have been using her for three years and really appreciate the fantastic job she does!! I highly recommend her.”

“Peter was so great with our kitties! He followed our instructions perfectly and helped maintain their routines to avoid stress. They looked happy and healthy when we returned. And the house was clean too! Not even a speck of litter outside the boxes. Thank you for your attentiveness and care, Peter!”

“I am so impressed. This was my first time allowing anyone, other than family, care for my little man. She was so loving and attentive. Even though he is normally apprehensive to new people her gentle kindness helped him feel comfortable. I would use her again in an instant.”

About: I have utmost respect (and lots of love!) for all animals. I truly view them as real friends and equals. With experience, I have also learned how to set and maintain good (and firm - when necessary) boundaries. Dogs have been trusted members of my family since I was a child. I have cared for senior rescue dogs; I have socialized puppies; I have taught reserved dogs new tricks; and I have taught stubborn dogs to sit and wait. I have admittedly less history with cats, but just as much respect and care for them as any other animal. I do currently have one close cat companion (we used to be roommates, and have been best buds ever since). As with all animals, I find that the respect and love I give to the pets I interact with is reciprocated - and often multiplied! As a person who is both adventurous and empathetic, I am generally very well attuned to the health and wellbeing of those around me, and I really enjoy taking dogs for walks almost as much as they do! I also like to play, and I can handle all kinds of doggy games. Big dogs welcome! I am an early riser - morning walks are my favorite! From day to day, I am generally very flexible; I work part-time as an independent handyman (furniture assembly, TV mounting, etc). I can make almost anytime work, as long as we can agree in advance. All requests are welcome! I enjoy long walks (with lots of 30-second stand and sniff breaks). I am both energetic and patient I love to play Always send updates when leaving
“Dogs had a blast! Jonathan was kind enough to do a meet and greet with the puppers before I left for my trip. He was also able to accommodate an odd drop in time that was super early in the morning. Lots of pictures and great communication. Was able to rest easy on my trip away because I felt the pups were getting all the love. Will definitely book Jonathan again for sure”
“Very please with Karen and Lyle. They came to meet Nicklaus and then showed up exactly as planned to walk and feed him. Very reliable and flexible as well when my work schedule changed.”

“Incredibly helpful and quick to assist in a pinch. Adapted to my dogs’ usual schedules for a few visits while we were out of town. We’ll definitely reach back out (with more of a heads up next time)!”

About: I provide loving, reliable pet care. I handle every situation with calm handling, and personalized routines, ensuring pets feel safe, understood, and truly cared for. I work daily but can bring pets with me. I offer multiple walks, give meds, flexible updates, and full weekend availability for reliable, consistent care. In my home or yours, I follow each pet’s routine—feeding, walks, meds, playtime, and updates. I keep their space clean, safe, calm, and comforting at all times. I can create pets as well I have one already on hand
“Aly was fantastic from start to finish with Goose! I felt very confident leaving him with her after I saw how sweet he was with her during our meet and greet. She was so kind and very thorough. Thank you so much!”

“Rebecca has taken care of my cats and fish with drop in visits many times now and has always been prompt, courteous and gets along really well with my cats. Great communication too… and as a semi-pro photographer, I really appreciate the artistic photos she sends with each visit. Thanks, Rebecca!”

About: I have had dogs both large and small my entire life. 3 of them I primarily raised from the puppy stage (this includes potty training and the late nights) I have both dog and cat sitting experience! I currently work Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. With that being said, I am available every weekend and evenings as well as most holidays! I prioritize your pets safety, routine, and trust among everything. For example, understanding proper leash handling/ not letting them off a leash when necessary. I have experience with elderly dogs/ dogs with special allergies needing specific food regimens and feeding times. I know that pets hold a similar place in our hearts as children, so offering updates via text to ensure all is well is something I will happily provide!
“Heather did a wonderful job caring for my cat, Benson, during my trip. She visited twice a day, made sure he was fed on schedule, and kept his litter box clean. Even though Benson decided to hide for all three days, Heather was patient, gentle, and consistent with her check‑ins. I really appreciated her reliability and the peace of mind knowing everything was taken care of. I would happily book her again.”

“Jereny is incredible and super reliable. Our puppy is an escape artist and Jereny went early to keep the pup safe and found a good way to secure the crate for us in the first week. She has been flexible with the schedule when we randomly have a change. She has also work led on many training things with the pup and describes the techniques so we can repeat. Great service!”

“Megan is so reliable, communicative, and loves our animals so much! She is very understanding and happy to follow long sets of directions. She has watched our pets multiple times and I would highly recommend her!”

About: I’m new to Rover, but not new to pets. I’ve spent years dog and cat sitting for family, friends, and people from my church while they travel so I’ve basically already been doing this, just without the app. Boarding is where I’m strongest. Whatever you’re away for a weekend trip, a long workweek, a stretch out of town your pet gets a quiet, pet free home and someone who’s actually paying attention to them, not just checking a box. It’s just me and my roommate here, no kids, no chaos, no other pets running around unless we’re talking about yours LOL. But if boarding isn’t what you need, I also do drop in visits and walks. A midday or evening walk for your dog, or a quick morning/night stop to feed and check on your cat while you’re out. My schedule’s flexible (I work fulltime but it’s not a rigid 9-5), so I can usually make mornings, evenings, weekends, whenever your pet needs me. I’m not the type to drop them off with food and a bowl and disappear for the day. I want to actually know their personality by the time you pick them up. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of pretty much every age and energy level, from the zoomies at 6am crowd to older pets who just want someone patient around and a quiet spot to nap. Routines matter to me too if your pet eats at a certain time, walks a certain route, or has a little quirk, I want to know about it and stick to it. I’ll keep you in the loop while I’m with them. Feeding on schedule, medication if they need it, litter box scooped, fresh water, the whole routine handled the way you’d do it yourself. Photo updates too, so you’re never left wondering how things are going. Can’t wait to meet you both and hear what your pet’s routine looks like. My schedule is flexible, so I’m available mornings, evenings, weekends, and throughout the week as needed. I take the time to learn your pet’s personality, preferences, and routine so they can feel as comfortable as possible. I know how hard it can be to leave your pet with someone else, so I do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether they’re staying in my home or I’m stopping by yours, I follow their routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, medications, and any special instructions you provide. I provide a calm, pet free home for boarding and make sure every pet gets plenty of attention and care. I also send photo updates throughout their stay because I’d want the same thing if it were my pet. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing your pet is in good hands

Cali is seriously the best at looking after our pets! She has fantastic communication and is extremely punctual. It’s an incredible added bonus that my two cats instantly trusted her. So thankful to work with Cali. If you need someone to care for your animals as they would their own, Cali is your girl! Thanks Cali 🙂

Anna has been wonderful with our puppy! She’s kind, reliable, and always keeps us updated with photos and messages after her visits. We’re very grateful for her help and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter or dog walker.

Glad to have had Luna watch my cats again while we were away. She sends great updates and lots of photos that I look forward to every time. She truly cares for our cats and it shows in her communication and Rover cards. We look forward to her next visit with them 😸

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Maitland. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
