“Michael was great with Archie! Plenty of photo updates and handled his food/meds/walk routines like a pro. Would highly recommend Michael especially for anyone with a Doodle.”

“Alicia stayed at our home for the weekend and took care of our 2 small dogs. They can be barky but they seemed to relax around her pretty quickly. She sent several pix -our doxie was snuggling up to her the same night we left and our nervous chihuahua was in out in the yard wagging away the next day. The house was the same as we left it. We would definitely book Alicia again 😀”

“Chris was absolutely phenomenal! He took care of all three of our pups for the entire week while we were away, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the very beginning, he was incredibly communicative, sending regular updates, photos, and videos that gave us complete peace of mind while we were traveling. It was clear that he genuinely cared about each of our dogs and took the time to learn their individual personalities and routines. When we came home, all three pups were happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. It’s not easy finding someone you trust with your pets—especially three of them—but Chris exceeded every expectation. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, attentive, and truly treats your pets like family, Chris is the one. We would book him again without hesitation. 10/10 experience. Thank you so much, Chris!”

“Another stress free vacation, because we knew Oreo was in the best hands with Maria! She was amazing communicating with us and sharing photo & video updates. Oreo is spoiled rotten when she’s there.💕 I think he makes her his personal masseuse 🤣, but she also plays his toys with him and did enriching activities to keep our boy’s mind engaged. We totally trust Maria and highly recommend her!”

“This was our first time using Rover (or even a dog sitter that we didn’t know) and Caroline did not disappoint! Her communication throughout our 8 day trip was amazing - the almost daily pictures were so appreciated and she was quick to reply to our messages. Highly recommend!”

“Thank you Rachel for taking care of our Doberman Max. We were in an Airbnb located in Orlando and she was able to take care of my boy. Also, we arrange an extra time and was late night and she was fine with it. Do not hesitate to contact her to take care of your four legged friends. :)”

“As always had another great experience with Lexus dog sitting our senior dog. Can’t say enough positive things about her professionalism and attention to detail.”

“Wynn took excellent care of our pets! We have a big fur crew and I get nervous giving the responsibility to someone, but I had peace of mind on my trip which made a world of difference. She Did everything I asked her to do and sent me detailed updates and photos daily. Communication was great and our cats and dogs got plenty of attention. We have already booked her again. She is a 10 star sitter!!”

“Chris was amazing! He took great care of Anubis and kept an eye on our home. We feel comfortable continuing to travel knowing we can leave our pet(s) in reliable hands. Thank you and we look forward to requesting you again!”

“Rebecca is AMAZING! I was very nervous to leave our pup and home to someone else, but Rebecca's calm and in-control attitude helped us feel assured. While we were gone, Rebecca stayed in touch multiple times a day with photo and text updates about our dog. And bonus: our house looked like the day we left it. Rebecca is great at listening to your concerns and acting accordingly. Highly recommend! Thanks Rebecca!”

“We had Allison house-sit for us for over a week while we were vacationing in Japan. She was amazing in every way. Even with the difficulty of the 13 hour time difference, she was always on top of communication keeping us updated on our pets and how things were at the house. She took amazing care of the pets and our home and we will definitely be using her again!”

“It was a smooth process and an awesome experience for my peanut. It was a last minute one too and she was able to accommodate it and make it work. 100% satisfied and highly recommended!”

“Ashland was incredible with Ziggy and Marley! She spent the weekend with them and sent many pictures, videos and messages to let me know how they were doing! I felt very comfortable knowing they were in good hands. Will definitely book with Ashland again!”

“Christina was great & took the time to get to know our puppy Coco before we went on vacation. She sent us regular photos, videos & updates (she should be a photographer 📷). She took Coco for walks & played with her. We highly recommend Christina for taking care of and loving on your pet. We will definitely have her watch Coco again.”

“Peter came through for me last minute! He suggested a meet and greet the day before. Peter updated me daily with photos of penthouse. I came back a little later than expected due to my flight, and I'm so grateful I didn't have to worry about my dog because Peter came through last moment for me. Thank you so much!! I will be using him again 💖”

“This was the first time we used rover for our dog and we were very impressed how well Carla took care of Spooky for 3 days she stayed with him and gave him all his proper pills, feed him, walked him, and slept over with him. I would highly recommend Carla! Thanks again!”
“Jenna was so great with my dog who is nervous around new people! He warmed up to her thanks to her patience and love and they had a great week with lots of updates sent to me. Thank you Jenna!!”

Isabella was AMAZING with our cat, Finn! She made sure he was taken care of and gave him lots of cuddles while we were away overnight for my birthday trip. She’s very attentive and always asked what our preferences were while she stayed at our home. We will definitely be booking her again! :)

Jin was great! Very good communication, sent photos/updates, left home in great shape, and most importantly took care of Duke well even with all his health issues! She was also so kind to be flexible with the schedule due to my son coming home earlier than expected. Appreciate it!

Wynn took excellent care of our pets! She is a 10 star sitter!!

Taylor was incredible! We recently traveled out of the country and we were really nervous about leaving our dog for the first time. From the moment we met Taylor all of our worries went away. She’s super sweet and made us feel really comfortable about leaving our little one. She sent us pictures and videos every day, and our dog loved her. We will definitely use her for all future travels, and would recommend her to anyone in need of a dog sitter. :)
We had an emergency midway through a weeklong stay and had to come back and leave again. Gwen was absolutely amazing and extremely accommodating to the last minute change in plans. So SO grateful to have her and Trevor here in an emergency and to be SO flexible! I never have to worry about the dogs when they are here!

Ashlee came out to do a meet and great with our dogs the day I messaged her about a possible over night stay. The day of arrival to see how the dogs acted towards her was greatly appreciated. She sent me more photo updates than I think any other dog sitter we have used before. She also let us know how often they went out and how they did with eating our food. Then she texted later that day to make sure we arrived home and to ask how our dogs were when we arrived home. Very thorough and thoughtful, we would use her again.

Nathan took excellent care of our dog and cat, making sure to clarify instructions for medications, etc. When our flight was cancelled last minute, he was kind enough to stay another night at very short notice, which we greatly appreciated! He left the house very clean and tidy. We will certainly book him again.

Sarah watched our high energy Golden Retriever Blitz while we were away for the weekend. We love booking with Sarah because she gives us the peace of mind that Blitz is in the best of hands. We can fully disconnect and relax on vacation knowing Blitz is having a blast with Sarah. Highly recommend!

The clearest review I can give is the fact that we will be using Kaya each and every time that she is available. She was prompt, responsive, professional, and treated our house and our dog as if they were her own. I can highly recommend her, and as I indicated, we will be using her again in the future.

We could not have been happier with our decision to use Rebecca. She took amazing care of our senior pug, Tater. Her responses were always timely and she was awesome about sharing pictures throughout our time away. This was a great first experience with Rover and we cannot recommend Rebecca enough.

Bailey was great! Highly recommend. Super comfortable with dogs and followed all instructions left. Sent tons of photos everyday and always communicated. Very professional and friendly. She stayed in our home while we were away for 3 nights. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maitland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maitland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maitland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Maitland. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
