“Natalie took great care of Lily for 4 drop in visits! She sent me videos and pics and everything was just how I left it when I got home! Will be re booking her in the future….thank you Natalie!”

“Lia was great- Super friendly, great communication, and punctual. I think she took good care of Apollo and was engaging and playful. Will definitely contact again for future needs!”

“Deborah did a fantastic job watching buddy. She kept us informed daily and even sent us photos. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter. we will use her for sure going forward, thank you again Deborah”

“First of all, I must say that Brenda and Dwain are great ambassadors for Dog setting. Prior to us going on vacation our dog Molly suffered two seizures in one day and we were about to go on vacation in a month and a half, having Brenda and Dwayne taking care of Molly and ensuring she got her medication while we were on a cruise in the Caribbean. There was a point during the vacation. Molly didn’t want to take her medication with the pill pockets. Dwayne and Brenda got some peanut butter and insured that Molly had her medication the entire time we were gone. I plan on using Dwayne and Brenda more often because of the care that they gave Molly, also they took pictures and gave us daily reports and how she was feeling while we were on the cruise. I would highly recommend if you have a pet that you love very much hire Brenda and Dwayne.. I want to thank both Brenda and Dwayne for taking care of our puppy. I highly recommend them. David & Denise. 🙏”

“If you feel like you can’t go out of town because no one will love your babies as much as you, well wait till you meet Daphne! Daphne is phenomenal! She took care of our 4 fur babies like they were her own from the moment she met them. She was so good at taking care of their every need. Daphne updated us while on our trip with so many pictures. She took them out for their walks, gave them their medication, and loved all over them. I will ALWYS choose Daphne to take care of our babies when we go out of town! We have a trip coming up in October 2024 and will choose Daphne to take care of our beloved babies!”

“Peter was the best! He took perfect care of my pup and went above and beyond. My pup felt safe and happy and he left my home in perfect condition. Would definitely use again.”

“Highly recommend Ashlee. She is very good to my dogs and they love her too. Ashlee is very communicative and always lets me know when she’s coming and going and how the dogs are doing while I’m gone. I appreciate her taking care of my dogs and my home.”

About: I have years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, including senior pets and animals with special needs. I’ve cared for dogs with arthritis, mobility problems, and cancer, helping them move around safely, go outside, and stay comfortable. I also have experience with physical-therapy routines, including assisting a dog with weakened back legs and water-treadmill therapy. With cats and dogs, I’ve helped give medications and have experience giving fluids to a cat with kidney issues. I’ve also walked, fed, and watched neighbors’ dogs, including Charlie, Rosie, and Parker. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable adjusting my care to each pet’s individual needs. My schedule is fairly flexible, which gives me plenty of time to provide pets with consistent attention and care. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and pet sitting. I can also work around each pet’s normal routine and make sure they get the care and attention they’re used to. I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and comfort level, so I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I take the time to learn what makes each pet feel comfortable, whether that means an energetic walk, extra patience with a senior dog, medication at a certain time, or simply giving a shy pet some space. I’m very careful with leashes, doors, gates, feeding instructions, and anything else an owner points out. Having cared for pets with mobility issues and other special needs, I’m used to paying attention to the little things and adjusting my care when needed. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and as close to their normal routine as possible while you’re away.
“Dana was absolutely amazing with our pets. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were forced into our first experience with Rover. I feel so lucky that we were able to connect with Dana and that she had availability to watch our pups. Her communication was amazing. She was very easy to work with. She seemed very comfortable with both personalities of our dogs, which is something considering how different they are. The communication and pictures during our trip were outstanding. I couldn’t recommend Dana more. In fact, we have already sent her profile to some of our closest friends. Thank you so much for all the help!”

About: Hi! I’m Christina, and I’m a passionate and experienced dog lover with years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. 🐾 I have 4 years of professional experience working at dog daycares, along with years of experience providing dog sitting and care for families and my own dogs ive owned I’m comfortable caring for dogs with different needs, energy levels, and temperaments, and I always treat every dog as if they were my own. I’m reliable, patient, attentive, and I understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets in someone else’s care. Whether your pup needs walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, or simply some company while you’re away, I’m happy to provide the care and attention they deserve! I currently work Part time so I will have more time to fit the needs of your animals whether that’s potty breaks or boarding at your house I would prefer the care of your pets be in your own homes as I do not have a backyard, but don’t mind walking the dogs for potty breaks.
“Maria was amazing!!! I always have felt guilty leaving our pups, but this time it felt like our boy was on vacation as well. Maria spoiled him rotten! 💕 As a rescue, he has some fears, but she loved on him with patience and kindness, and he fell in love with her and trusts her so much. I told her she was a dog whisperer, being able to touch him in situations we normally even can’t. He’s even learning to sit now thanks to Maria! She went above and beyond doing some minor clean up grooming to make O more comfortable. And, to top it all off, I received tons of photos, videos, and updates every day—I loved this so much! I felt so comfortable and would 100% recommend Maria!”

About: Hello! I’m Haileigh, an experienced animal lover with several years of hands on experience caring for dogs and cats in both rescue and veterinary settings. I spent 2 years working at Big Dog Ranch Rescue in South Florida, where I gained extensive experience caring for dogs of all sizes, personalities, and backgrounds. After moving to Orlando, I spent 9 months working at a dog daycare located within a veterinary hospital in Winter Park. This gave me even more experience understanding animal behavior, providing attentive care, and making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I later transferred to the veterinary hospital’s pharmaceutical department, where I continue to be surrounded by animals and the veterinary world. My experience in these environments has taught me how important it is to pay attention to the little things, from changes in behavior and appetite, to making sure each pet receives the individual care and attention they need. Outside of work, I’m a proud mom to two cats of my own. I’ve also had the rewarding experience of fostering a pit bull named Koa for 7 months before he found his forever home. Fostering him was incredibly meaningful to me and reinforced just how much I love helping animals feel safe, happy, and cared for. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely enjoy. Whether your pet needs a quick check-in, a long walk, playtime, cuddles, or simply some company while you’re away, my goal is to treat every animal as if they were my own. Your pets are family, and I want you to feel completely comfortable knowing they’re in loving, experienced, and trustworthy hands while you’re away. I currently work full time, monday through friday 8am-5pm, however I would love to drop in on weekends or holidays if need be to walk dogs or take care of cats. I have walked many different dogs ranging from 5lbs to 130lbs, and have no issue walking them on a leash. I have experienced dogs with a variety of behavioral issues such as food aggression and toy possession.

“Tiffany was awesome. She stayed with my two rambunctious Boston Terrier puppies for a long weekend. We recieved many pictures and updates during our time away giving us comfort that our babies were being well taken care of. Our babies are spoiled and sleep in bed with us. Tiffany didn't bat an eye in sharing the bed. Best yet the house was clean and dog poop all picked up. We definately would use her again. Highly recommended!”

“I booked JaRavia at the last minute, and she was incredibly flexible with scheduling a meet-and-greet. During the boarding, she was patient and understanding with my shy dog, Bear, who can be a bit distant. She checked in frequently, and by the end of the visit, Bear had started to trust her. I highly recommend JaRavia for her kindness and love of animals!”

“Lucia was lovely. Very friendly, punctual, and responsible. Also, the cats enjoyed her company. ;) There was a cat left outside in the hallway, and she helped them; that's how kind she is. I highly recommend her.”

We had a fantastic experience with Shauna! The level of care is 5 stars across the board. We extended our trip and she was even able to accommodate last minute. When we got home we can tell the fur babies and house was well cared for. So glad we found her and beyond grateful!

Michele was terrific! She stayed overnight with our two pugs and was a fantastic communicator, sending regular photo updates and following all our instructions perfectly. Knowing our dogs were in such caring, reliable hands was a huge relief, and we're already thrilled to have her booked for two more dates. Thank you, Michele!

Christina watched our sweet Stella and once again exceeded our expectations. Stella is always so well taken care of and the house is absolutely spotless when we return. Not one minute of worry when Christina is watching her, or our home. She’s the absolute best!

Colleen was wonderful with our cats while we were away for the weekend! She communicated really well throughout the stay, which gave us peace of mind, and she left our house spotless. We came home to happy cats. We would definitely book her again and highly recommend her!

Haileigh I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received. Haileigh Is someone you can truly trust with your dog is incredibly important, and from the very beginning, I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such caring and responsible hands. She was attentive, dependable, patient, and genuinely treated him like he was her own. She kept me updated, made sure he was comfortable and well cared for, and gave me real peace of mind while I was away. You can tell when someone simply watches dogs versus someone who genuinely loves and cares about them — and she absolutely does. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and reliable dog sitter. I’m extremely grateful for the wonderful care she gave my dog, and I will definitely be using her again. Five stars all the way!

Natalie went above and beyond caring for my pets. Shortly before my vacation my cat was diagnosed with cancer and I was nervous to leave her. However, that quickly dissolved with all of Natalie’s reassurance and my immediate confidence that they’re in good hands. She communicated in detail often and sent several pictures throughout my trip. I am so grateful for her compassion towards my pets and overall care for them and my home. I highly recommend Natalie and would hire her again in a heartbeat.

We had an emergency midway through a weeklong stay and had to come back and leave again. Gwen was absolutely amazing and extremely accommodating to the last minute change in plans. So SO grateful to have her and Trevor here in an emergency and to be SO flexible! I never have to worry about the dogs when they are here!

Karena was great. She was professional, on time and the pets loved her. We got regular updates with pictures and she went above and beyond the things we requested her to do. I would definitely use her again for future vacations. So great to come home to a house exactly as you left it, especially when our pets can be quite the mess makers.

Taylor looked after my fur baby while i went away for a weekend trip. She stayed at my house, and everythihng was good when i returned. My fur baby looked happy. Some initial issues with communication and amendments to dates, but worked with Taylor to resolve the issue and everything, thankfiully, worked out.

Kimberly was absolutely amazing! She took amazing care of my 3 boys and our home. From first meeting her at our meet and greet she was extremely nice and courteous. My one dog is very anxious and afraid of new people at first. She handled him so well and shared how he quickly warmed up to her over her time here. She provided great updates and photos throughout her stay which provide me with peace of mind while I was away. My house was better than I left it, she even washed the bedding and had the bed made upon my return. Can’t wait to have her again!

Patricia is so wonderful!! She took the best care of my three cats while we were away! She provided daily check ins and photos which helped ease my anxiety being away from my fur babies. I am so glad to have found her through Rover and she will be my go-to sitter for all future trips!

Sally was wonderful to work with. Her initial meet and greet put my mind at ease, and she took the time to get to know my dog. During the short stay, Sally communicated well and provided updates with photos on a daily basis. I would not hesitate to recommend Sally to any other potential sitters looking for a reliable, friendly, and professional sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Forest City on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 3,175 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Forest City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Forest City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Forest City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Forest City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
