“Natalie took great care of Lily for 4 drop in visits! She sent me videos and pics and everything was just how I left it when I got home! Will be re booking her in the future….thank you Natalie!”

“Peter came through for me last minute! He suggested a meet and greet the day before. Peter updated me daily with photos of penthouse. I came back a little later than expected due to my flight, and I'm so grateful I didn't have to worry about my dog because Peter came through last moment for me. Thank you so much!! I will be using him again 💖”

“Dana was absolutely amazing with our pets. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were forced into our first experience with Rover. I feel so lucky that we were able to connect with Dana and that she had availability to watch our pups. Her communication was amazing. She was very easy to work with. She seemed very comfortable with both personalities of our dogs, which is something considering how different they are. The communication and pictures during our trip were outstanding. I couldn’t recommend Dana more. In fact, we have already sent her profile to some of our closest friends. Thank you so much for all the help!”

“Wonderful house sitter & took terrific care of our cat Oscar. Deborah leapt in to help us on short notice when another Rover sitter bailed the night before she was due to start. My wife and I highly recommend Deborah and would be happy to use her again.”

“Valerie is the perfect sitter. She really is dedicated to her job and goes above and beyond for our dog. She is great with our dog. That means everything to us!”

“Another stress free vacation, because we knew Oreo was in the best hands with Maria! She was amazing communicating with us and sharing photo & video updates. Oreo is spoiled rotten when she’s there.💕 I think he makes her his personal masseuse 🤣, but she also plays his toys with him and did enriching activities to keep our boy’s mind engaged. We totally trust Maria and highly recommend her!”

“My girl got into some meds while I was at work. Dwain was quick to try to contact me when he stopped by the house and quick to action. They couldn't be in better hands and I'm so grateful.”

“Zach house sat for us and took great care of our two American Bullys (Zeus and Brinks). He pays close attention to detail and has great communication. He goes above and beyond to keep the house clean and tidy. We will definitely be using him in the future!”

“Autumn was Fabulous!! She is friendly, a great communicater, and sent me pictures throughout her time in my house. I have 3 goldendoodles and they gave her a 5 out of 5 review. Just watching my girls interact with her gave me such peace. The pictures captured their personalities and their smiles. I highly recommend Autumn for your pets needs.”

About: I worked at Big Dog Ranch Rescue down in South Florida for 2 years before moving to Orlando and working at a dog daycare at a veterinary hospital in Winter Park. I worked at the dog daycare for 9 months before transferring to their pharmaceutical department. I also own 2 cats of my own and fostered a pitbull named Koa for 7 months before he got adopted. I adore animals, and would love to be able to take care of them in my free time. I currently work full time, monday through friday 8am-5pm, however I would love to drop in on weekends or holidays if need be to walk dogs or take care of cats. I have walked many different dogs ranging from 5lbs to 130lbs, and have no issue walking them on a leash. I have experienced dogs with a variety of behavioral issues such as food aggression and toy possession.
“Lucia was lovely. Very friendly, punctual, and responsible. Also, the cats enjoyed her company. ;) There was a cat left outside in the hallway, and she helped them; that's how kind she is. I highly recommend her.”

“I use amber regularly now as my work schedule is all over the place. She is the most fantastic sitter ever. She takes care of your dog and home and is just such a delight! Always will try to book her and she is usually always available.”

“Tiffany was so great! She arrived as promised and even took our dog out one extra time for us since we were returning late. The dog was happy and well- cared for, left the house in great shape. Will definitely use Tiffany again and highly recommend!”

“Daphne is an absolute gem. She treated my dogs like they were her own, kept in constant contact and followed my directions perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! She really put my nerves at ease and I will definitely be booking her regularly. Highly recommend her!!!”

“Phoebe was awesome. She sent pictures and video updates which I appreciated so much. She continued to uphold my baby’s training which I also appreciated. Sanders and I look forward to seeing you again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Forest City
Natalie went above and beyond caring for my pets. Shortly before my vacation my cat was diagnosed with cancer and I was nervous to leave her. However, that quickly dissolved with all of Natalie’s reassurance and my immediate confidence that they’re in good hands. She communicated in detail often and sent several pictures throughout my trip. I am so grateful for her compassion towards my pets and overall care for them and my home. I highly recommend Natalie and would hire her again in a heartbeat.

We had an emergency midway through a weeklong stay and had to come back and leave again. Gwen was absolutely amazing and extremely accommodating to the last minute change in plans. So SO grateful to have her and Trevor here in an emergency and to be SO flexible! I never have to worry about the dogs when they are here!

Karena was great. She was professional, on time and the pets loved her. We got regular updates with pictures and she went above and beyond the things we requested her to do. I would definitely use her again for future vacations. So great to come home to a house exactly as you left it, especially when our pets can be quite the mess makers.

Taylor looked after my fur baby while i went away for a weekend trip. She stayed at my house, and everythihng was good when i returned. My fur baby looked happy. Some initial issues with communication and amendments to dates, but worked with Taylor to resolve the issue and everything, thankfiully, worked out.

Colleen did an amazing job caring for our 2 cats and house for almost 2 weeks! Also, she kept us updated with photos and messages throughout our trip, which gave us peace of mind. We came home to happy cats and a spotless house. We will definitely be booking with Colleen again!

Kimberly was absolutely amazing! She took amazing care of my 3 boys and our home. From first meeting her at our meet and greet she was extremely nice and courteous. My one dog is very anxious and afraid of new people at first. She handled him so well and shared how he quickly warmed up to her over her time here. She provided great updates and photos throughout her stay which provide me with peace of mind while I was away. My house was better than I left it, she even washed the bedding and had the bed made upon my return. Can’t wait to have her again!

Patricia is so wonderful!! She took the best care of my three cats while we were away! She provided daily check ins and photos which helped ease my anxiety being away from my fur babies. I am so glad to have found her through Rover and she will be my go-to sitter for all future trips!

Sally was wonderful to work with. Her initial meet and greet put my mind at ease, and she took the time to get to know my dog. During the short stay, Sally communicated well and provided updates with photos on a daily basis. I would not hesitate to recommend Sally to any other potential sitters looking for a reliable, friendly, and professional sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Forest City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Forest City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Forest City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
