About: Since I was young, I have cared for animals big and small. I grew up with cats and dogs, but have also raised the occasional turtle, snake, lizard, mouse, and fish. I love animals and am not afraid of complicated instructions or a challenge. I have experience with accidents, medications, and clingy, anxiety-ridden babies. I have an educational background in psychology - paying attention to pets and watching for their cues helps keep them healthy and happy. I’ll be able to tell if something is an stress-reaction or “just that weird thing they do.” My current companion is my best boy, Teddie. I found him in the trash on the side of the road one day (true story!) and bringing him home was the best decision I’ve ever made. I currently have a flexible work schedule and work remotely on Mondays. I have full availability for Saturday and Sunday, so I can be the perfect sitter for your long weekend getaways! Each pet is unique in how they communicate. I pay careful attention to a pet’s cue or behavior to determine what they may need. By being observant, I can ensure that your pet is happy, safe, and well taken care of! Many pets that I have cared for needed medication or had special instructions for care. I am no stranger to potty accidents or stress reactions. I would be happy to care for your pet that may need a little extra patience or kindness. Unfortunately, due to my small apartment, I am unable to care for pets in my home.

“First time using Rover, super nervous to leave my dog with someone I didn’t know in my hotel but felt it was a better option over doggy daycare! I choose Thanya because of her current work history working with animals as a vet tech! I felt my dog would be safe in her hands with her additional knowledge in her field of work! She made the entire process so easy, she did a meet and greet which she does not have to do which was KEY to meet us, our dog and see the location of where she needs to go vs just showing up the day we needed her. She was very friendly, flexible and on time! She took the trash out which was not asked of her and cleaned up after herself. I know my dog liked her because day 2 he didn’t bark at her when she walked in the door she had gained his trust! She followed eveything asked of her in regards to spuds needs, schedule and my little extra crazy about germs with shoes off in the hotel and washing her hands every time she walked the dog and returned back to the apartment hotel. “Valerie took on the task of watching our 5 babies. She provided good communication to keep us updated on how the girls were all doing. She went above and beyond when one of our girls was sick. We ran out of paper towels and she went out and bought more. Valerie also took extra special care of Jovi when she wasn’t eating very well. She took the time to sit with her and added warm water to her food to coax her to eat in three small sessions. We are grateful we found and loving and devoted person like Valerie to love our 5 girls while we were out of town for the week. Thank you for everything. Many thanks to Dana for watching over our older baby while we traveled. She was in constant contact with us and ensured Nash had all he needed to be comfortable, safe and loved. I was very nervous leaving my three cats for so long for the very first time (one month is a long time for my anxious babies), not to mention I was out of country too!
