“Noelle was fantastic with our babies! We will definitely reach out to her again for our next weekend getaway! She was attentive to their needs, patient with our pug's disability, cognizant of their comfort throughout the weekend, and kept them on their schedule/routine. She checked in often and kept us informed of their activities, leaving us to a stress-free, mostly unplugged weekend. We are very happy to have found Noelle!”

“Valerie is the perfect sitter. She really is dedicated to her job and goes above and beyond for our dog. She is great with our dog. That means everything to us!”

“Logan was absolutely fantastic with our dogs! Leaving them behind is never easy, especially because they are highly active and each have their own unique personalities, but Logan made the entire experience stress-free. He gave them plenty of attention, kept up with their energy levels, and made sure they were well cared for while we were away. We loved receiving updates and could tell our pups were happy, comfortable, and in great hands. It’s clear that Logan genuinely cares about the animals he watches, and that peace of mind is priceless. We came home to happy dogs and a well-cared-for home. We highly recommend Logan to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring dog sitter. We would gladly have him watch our dogs again!”

“Phoebe is calm and relaxed, which is perfect energy around my dogs, one who is old and one who is young. She spent several hours at my house, and I came home to a very happy household. I have already rebooked her for this week.”

About: Since I was young, I have cared for animals big and small. I grew up with cats and dogs, but have also raised the occasional turtle, snake, lizard, mouse, and fish. I love animals and am not afraid of complicated instructions or a challenge. I have experience with accidents, medications, and clingy, anxiety-ridden babies. I have an educational background in psychology - paying attention to pets and watching for their cues helps keep them healthy and happy. I’ll be able to tell if something is an stress-reaction or “just that weird thing they do.” My current companion is my best boy, Teddie. I found him in the trash on the side of the road one day (true story!) and bringing him home was the best decision I’ve ever made. I currently have a flexible work schedule and work remotely on Mondays. I have full availability for Saturday and Sunday, so I can be the perfect sitter for your long weekend getaways! Each pet is unique in how they communicate. I pay careful attention to a pet’s cue or behavior to determine what they may need. By being observant, I can ensure that your pet is happy, safe, and well taken care of! Many pets that I have cared for needed medication or had special instructions for care. I am no stranger to potty accidents or stress reactions. I would be happy to care for your pet that may need a little extra patience or kindness. Unfortunately, due to my small apartment, I am unable to care for pets in my home.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs my entire life and have had my own dog since I was 6 years old. From daily walks and feeding to bathing, playtime, and comfort care, dogs have always been a big part of my life—not just pets, but family. I have extensive experience caring for large breeds, including Rottweilers. I’m confident handling strong dogs and understand the importance of structure, consistency, and calm leadership. I’m attentive to body language and individual needs to ensure every dog feels safe and respected. I also have hands-on experience with puppies, including newborn care. When my Rottweiler had puppies, I helped care for them during their early stages—monitoring feedings, cleanliness, socialization, and supporting a healthy routine as they grew. I understand the patience and consistency puppies need and enjoy helping reinforce positive behaviors. In addition, I have experience caring for senior dogs, including those who need a slower pace, extra comfort, and close monitoring. I’m attentive to mobility needs, medication routines (when applicable), and making sure senior pets feel secure and loved. I regularly care for family and friends’ dogs while they are away, providing in-home and overnight care while keeping pets on their normal routines. I prioritize communication and will always keep you updated with messages and photos so you have peace of mind while you’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own—with patience, affection, and careful attention to safety. My goal is to provide a calm, loving environment where your pet feels comfortable, happy, and well cared for at all times. I work part-time during the week, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to be present and engaged with your pets. I’m able to plan my schedule around their needs, ensuring they receive consistent attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I have open availability on weekends, allowing me to provide extra care, longer stays, walks, and plenty of one-on-one time. Whether your pet needs frequent check-ins, structured routines, or just extra love and playtime, I’m able to accommodate. I prioritize keeping pets on their normal schedules so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. Your pet will never feel rushed or unattended—I truly enjoy spending quality time with them In My Home: Pets staying with me are treated like family. I have a large fenced-in backyard for safe play and exercise, plus a cozy converted garage space for quiet, comfortable sleep time. I follow each pet’s normal routine for feeding, potty breaks, play, and rest to help them feel at home. In My Client’s Home: I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their usual routine. I spend at least two hours per visit to provide quality time, including walks, play, feeding, potty breaks, and companionship. I always make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for.
“Wonderful house sitter & took terrific care of our cat Oscar. Deborah leapt in to help us on short notice when another Rover sitter bailed the night before she was due to start. My wife and I highly recommend Deborah and would be happy to use her again.”

About: I have utmost respect (and lots of love!) for all animals. I truly view them as real friends and equals. With experience, I have also learned how to set and maintain good (and firm - when necessary) boundaries. Dogs have been trusted members of my family since I was a child. I have cared for senior rescue dogs; I have socialized puppies; I have taught reserved dogs new tricks; and I have taught stubborn dogs to sit and wait. I have admittedly less history with cats, but just as much respect and care for them as any other animal. I do currently have one close cat companion (we used to be roommates, and have been best buds ever since). As with all animals, I find that the respect and love I give to the pets I interact with is reciprocated - and often multiplied! As a person who is both adventurous and empathetic, I am generally very well attuned to the health and wellbeing of those around me, and I really enjoy taking dogs for walks almost as much as they do! I also like to play, and I can handle all kinds of doggy games. Big dogs welcome! I am an early riser - morning walks are my favorite! From day to day, I am generally very flexible; I work part-time as an independent handyman (furniture assembly, TV mounting, etc). I can make almost anytime work, as long as we can agree in advance. All requests are welcome! I enjoy long walks (with lots of 30-second stand and sniff breaks). I am both energetic and patient I love to play Always send updates when leaving
“Yelena was great, easy to reach and communicate with. Skai loved her and she even left her a new toy to play with! You can tell she is very experienced with dogs especially being that Skai can be very hyper but it did not seem to bother her at all. I would definitely book again, she made things very easy and smooth thank you :)”

“Ashlee was great with our pup who has extreme reactivity to other dogs. She was reliable, patient and understanding and provided us with lots of 'pupdates' when we were out of town, giving us peace of mind. I wholeheartedly recommend Ashlee to anyone in need of a pet sitter, especially for dogs with special needs.”

“Brenda and Dwain were INCREDIBLE! We left for a week long trip and I was so nervous about making sure our babies were okay. From the start Brenda and Dwain were very present and attentive to the animals and wanted to make sure they followed their routine to a T. Our dogs eat homemade food and they stayed active with making their food through the week, as well as stayed consistent with their daily walks. One of our dogs was having a hot spot issue when we left, but they stayed on top of treating it with the medicine we left and when we got home his hot spot was almost completely gone! They sent updates and pictures multiple times a day which made me feel so much better! They even took the time to write little “stories” about the day which were so fun to read! We didn’t have to worry at all on our trip because we knew they were all well taken care of. When we got home, our house was clean and virtually untouched and all the animals were happy and healthy! I couldn’t recommend Brenda and Dwain enough! If you want a family that will treat your animals and your home like their own while you are away, book them!! Thank you guys so much!”

“Sara took amazing care of Prim. My dog had a vacation while I was away and it was very clear that she enjoyed herself. My dog is 14years old so she can't be easy at times but Sara had patience with her and took great care of her. Thank you.”

“First time using Rover, super nervous to leave my dog with someone I didn’t know in my hotel but felt it was a better option over doggy daycare! I choose Thanya because of her current work history working with animals as a vet tech! I felt my dog would be safe in her hands with her additional knowledge in her field of work! She made the entire process so easy, she did a meet and greet which she does not have to do which was KEY to meet us, our dog and see the location of where she needs to go vs just showing up the day we needed her. She was very friendly, flexible and on time! She took the trash out which was not asked of her and cleaned up after herself. I know my dog liked her because day 2 he didn’t bark at her when she walked in the door she had gained his trust! She followed eveything asked of her in regards to spuds needs, schedule and my little extra crazy about germs with shoes off in the hotel and washing her hands every time she walked the dog and returned back to the apartment hotel. Highly recommend, we will be using her again the next time we come to Florida and sending her info to friends and family. She is Mahoney & Spud Approved! Worth every penny! Took the best pictures of my dog too one I actually plan to frame when I get home! 🐾”

“Natalie took great care of Lily for 4 drop in visits! She sent me videos and pics and everything was just how I left it when I got home! Will be re booking her in the future….thank you Natalie!”

“Danielle was amazing with Skai and very communicative. She sent me pictures throughout the stay and I felt very secured. She took amazing care of Skai and I would definitely book again!”

About: I’ve had my own dog for about a year and I love her more than anything. I’d be happy to care for your dog like they’re my own. I work part time on top of being a student and ucf, though I always make time for my dog, be it for cuddling, playing, or just going for a walk. I have a fenced in backyard for all pups to play in and plenty of toys to keep them happy, healthy, and having fun. I’m very detail oriented and can follow any and all instructions left to properly care for your pup.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lockhart
I was very nervous about trusting someone in my home with my pets for my 11-day trip overseas, but from the moment I met Caroline (Carli) she put my fears at ease. I could tell she was very comfortable and experienced around dogs, even my large mastiff. My cat liked her too (impressive)! Caroline is dependable, responsible, courteous, kind, communicative, and flexible. Most importantly, my pets really liked her! I could tell when she sent photos that both my dog and my cat were constantly seeking her affection and wanting to play with her. I could tell by their faces that they were happy, which is important to see when you’re gone so you can enjoy your time away. Caroline was also was super flexible when I ran into some logistical issues regarding my itinerary, which I really appreciated, and she was a very respectful houseguest. She left my home clean and tidy and even watered my plants for me. 11/10, will use her again!

Karena was great. She was professional, on time and the pets loved her. We got regular updates with pictures and she went above and beyond the things we requested her to do. I would definitely use her again for future vacations. So great to come home to a house exactly as you left it, especially when our pets can be quite the mess makers.

Many thanks to Dana for watching over our older baby while we traveled. She was in constant contact with us and ensured Nash had all he needed to be comfortable, safe and loved. While this was our first booking with Dana, having her stay in our home with Nash was the only option. Can’t thank Dana enough for putting her life on hold for 12 days to take care of Nash. You are a gift!
Patricia is so wonderful!! She took the best care of my three cats while we were away! She provided daily check ins and photos which helped ease my anxiety being away from my fur babies. I am so glad to have found her through Rover and she will be my go-to sitter for all future trips!

We are so thankful that we found Davi for our animals. She was incredible! We were gone for five nights, and she made us feel very confident leaving. Our pups absolutely adored her, and she paid close attention to every detail. Whether it was playtime, potty time, walk time, feedings, etc. She was on top of it all and we will most definitely book with her again. 😊

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lockhart on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,253 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lockhart. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lockhart walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lockhart maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lockhart choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
