“Megan is so reliable, communicative, and loves our animals so much! She is very understanding and happy to follow long sets of directions. She has watched our pets multiple times and I would highly recommend her!”

About: I have been watching animals and children for 30 years. At lot of the animals I have watched have been for the families I worked for as a nanny. I also have helped with rescues and with fostering. I am going to go towards animals more because I am grandmother of 2 kids 8 and 2. Animals have to like children. They have been around a lot of animals so they are comfortable around them. Animal are a passion for me, I love their loyalty and kind little souls. Your dog or cat will get the best care with me. My friends call me the animal whisperer because I always gravitate towards them. I look forward to spending time with your pups ans kitties! I am a teacher and I have a lot of time off in the summer to be home with them. I enjoy the time I spend with all the animals I have watched over the years. My boyfriend lives with me as well. He loves animals and is always willing to help too. My house is animal friendly. I am very safe with them, they get to go on furniture and can sleep in bed if they like as well.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs my entire life and have had my own dog since I was 6 years old. From daily walks and feeding to bathing, playtime, and comfort care, dogs have always been a big part of my life—not just pets, but family. I have extensive experience caring for large breeds, including Rottweilers. I’m confident handling strong dogs and understand the importance of structure, consistency, and calm leadership. I’m attentive to body language and individual needs to ensure every dog feels safe and respected. I also have hands-on experience with puppies, including newborn care. When my Rottweiler had puppies, I helped care for them during their early stages—monitoring feedings, cleanliness, socialization, and supporting a healthy routine as they grew. I understand the patience and consistency puppies need and enjoy helping reinforce positive behaviors. In addition, I have experience caring for senior dogs, including those who need a slower pace, extra comfort, and close monitoring. I’m attentive to mobility needs, medication routines (when applicable), and making sure senior pets feel secure and loved. I regularly care for family and friends’ dogs while they are away, providing in-home and overnight care while keeping pets on their normal routines. I prioritize communication and will always keep you updated with messages and photos so you have peace of mind while you’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own—with patience, affection, and careful attention to safety. My goal is to provide a calm, loving environment where your pet feels comfortable, happy, and well cared for at all times. I work part-time during the week, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to be present and engaged with your pets. I’m able to plan my schedule around their needs, ensuring they receive consistent attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I have open availability on weekends, allowing me to provide extra care, longer stays, walks, and plenty of one-on-one time. Whether your pet needs frequent check-ins, structured routines, or just extra love and playtime, I’m able to accommodate. I prioritize keeping pets on their normal schedules so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. Your pet will never feel rushed or unattended—I truly enjoy spending quality time with them In My Home: Pets staying with me are treated like family. I have a large fenced-in backyard for safe play and exercise, plus a cozy converted garage space for quiet, comfortable sleep time. I follow each pet’s normal routine for feeding, potty breaks, play, and rest to help them feel at home. In My Client’s Home: I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their usual routine. I spend at least two hours per visit to provide quality time, including walks, play, feeding, potty breaks, and companionship. I always make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for.
About: I've been a dog dad for 5 years and a pet sibling for over 20. I've had cats, dogs, fish, and other pets in my life for almost all of it. When I hang out with your pets, it's just that -- we talk, we vibe, we chill, we play. I've had experience caring for dogs and cats of all types, personalities, and ages. From keeping up with young, playful pups to feeding liquid diets to old, tired, and frail kitties, I am up to any challenge. Your pet will very quickly learn to love me! I work for myself, so my days are flexible and adaptable -- I can build my schedule around your pets' needs! I prefer at least three days notice for job requests and cancelations. I am happy to come to your house and keep your pet comfortable with their familiar environment. When in your home, I will be respectful and make sure to keep your space clean and organized.

About: I’ve had my own dog for about a year and I love her more than anything. I’d be happy to care for your dog like they’re my own. I work part time on top of being a student and ucf, though I always make time for my dog, be it for cuddling, playing, or just going for a walk. I have a fenced in backyard for all pups to play in and plenty of toys to keep them happy, healthy, and having fun. I’m very detail oriented and can follow any and all instructions left to properly care for your pup.
About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was little, friends and family rely on me to pet sit for their babies all the time! I have a dog and cat at home so I know how to handle both cuties! I’d love to get to know more animals and help out with your animal needs :)) I only have one class that's in the mornings (8-10AM) and I'm free for the whole day after that on Mondays and Wednesday! Thursdays I work during 5-11pm so I can do morning walks, Saturdays I work morning so I’ll be able to do evening walks! Tuesdays and Sundays are free all day! I can accommodate to any environment, if your dog would like to go out into the backyard that will happen, if they want to sit around and be lazy, that can also happen! In your home I will only be where your dog and will only touch things that are needed for your pet.

“Ava was wonderful caring for my girls! She is communicative and sent updates/pictures so I never had to worry. I definitely recommend booking with her and will be a repeat customer 🤍”

“Melissa did a great job with my Sasha & left my home in mint condition. Care instructions were followed to the letter, took lots of photos & left notes on how Sasha was doing. At one point when I checked in on them, I saw Melissa was wiping Sasha‘s eye boogies🥹 I have another trip towards the end of the year, I know exactly who I’ll be booking with. Thanks Melissa! 💐”

“Brooke was great! She loved on our kitties while we were away for a few days. Our kitties warmed right up to her. She followed our schedule and sent lots of pictures to make us feel like we were still right there with them. We’d certainly use Brooke in the future! Thanks again!”

“Davina was great! This was my first time using this service and I will definitely be using her again. I had peace of mind all weekend knowing she’d be dropping in on my fur babies”

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with indoor and barn cats, Newfoundlands, Leonbergers, and horses, so caring for animals of all sizes has always been second nature to me. I’m especially comfortable with large breeds and understand that every pet has their own personality, routines, and quirks. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding, cleaning up, or simply keeping them company, I try to make pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their people are away. I’m attentive and reliable, and I tend to notice when something seems off. My goal is always to provide the kind of care that gives both pets and their owners peace of mind. I keep a structured weekly schedule, so it’s easy for me to reliably plan drop-ins. I block off time for visits, stay consistent with timing, and make sure each pet gets unhurried care. Drop-ins with me are simple: I follow your instructions to a T, keep everything clean, and make sure your pet gets the right mix of care and attention. Playtime? Yes. Snuggles? Absolutely. Respectful space for independent cats? Also yes. My updates are detailed enough to reassure you and cute enough to save in your camera roll.

Callie was incredible with my cats! She’s a great communicator and willing to help with whatever I needed. It gave me peace of mind knowing Stevie and Louise were getting taken care of while I was away. I would recommend her to anyone looking for quality care!

This was my first time using Rover and the first time leaving my two cats alone, so I’ll admit I was a bit nervous and anxious. Patricia was amazing, she kept me updated the entire time and sent photos, which really helped me feel at ease. She was very professional and patient. One of my cats is extremely shy, and on the last day he even let her pet him, which truly surprised my husband and me. I would definitely rebook with Patricia without hesitation. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lockhart. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
