“It is a great comfort to know that our Cairn Terrier (Finn) was well taken care of while we were away. I felt completely comfortable leaving Finn with Kaylee. She always goes above and beyond by sending cute pics, getting the mail, and taking the trash out. Kaylee did a wonderful job! Thank you so much!”

“Rachel took care of our senior cat & Great Dane for about two days. She was so communicative and sent us updates on how they were doing. We are so grateful & would recommend her to anyone who is interested in her taking care of their babies!”

“Autumn is so punctual, caring, communicates really well and took such good care of my dogs! She sent me pictures and videos often and kept me updated and gave them so much love and care. She is really awesome!”

“Alicia stayed at our home for the weekend and took care of our 2 small dogs. They can be barky but they seemed to relax around her pretty quickly. She sent several pix -our doxie was snuggling up to her the same night we left and our nervous chihuahua was in out in the yard wagging away the next day. The house was the same as we left it. We would definitely book Alicia again 😀”

About: I've been a devoted dog owner for over eight years and have cared for my rescue dog since he was a puppy. He was a shy, anxious dog from the beginning and has always been very cautious around new people. Building his confidence and earning his trust taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and allowing dogs to feel safe at their own pace. Today, he remains my loyal sidekick and has rarely left my side. Now that he's entering his senior years, I've gained firsthand experience adapting to his changing needs, routines, and slower pace of life. Dogs have always held a special place in my heart, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs of all sizes and personalities, whether it's going for walks, playing, or simply keeping them company. If I had the space, I'd happily have a whole pack of dogs! I'll treat your dog with the same love, patience, attention, and respect that I give my own, so you can feel confident they're in caring, reliable hands. Pet care fits naturally into my lifestyle. I'm an active person who enjoys getting outside every day, so dog walks and playtime are something I genuinely look forward to. I'm currently building my own wellness business, which gives me the flexibility to accommodate walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting throughout the week. I understand how important consistency is for dogs, and I'm committed to following their routines so they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you're away. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply having someone keep them company, I'm happy to tailor my care to their individual needs. When caring for your dog in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent and stress free as possible. I'll carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, exercise, and any special preferences or restrictions. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and comfort level, so I take the time to earn their trust and let them adjust at their own pace. I also respect your home as if it were my own. I'll keep things clean and secure, make sure your dog is safe at all times, and provide regular photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away. My priority is making sure both you and your dog feel comfortable, confident, and well cared for.
About: Hello! My name is Victoria, and I’ve had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember. I volunteered with a local dog rescue where I fostered many dogs, helping them feel safe, loved, and prepared for their forever homes. Growing up, I also volunteered in both dog and cat shelters, giving me experience with pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve been pet sitting for family and friends since I was little and have also built my own client base through Facebook and other dog walking apps. I truly love animals and treat every pet with the same love, patience, and respect I would give my own, so you can feel confident they’ll be in caring hands. I have a flexible schedule and do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine! * Monday & Tuesday: I work from home, so I have flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care throughout the day. * Saturday through Tuesday: I’m available for walks and visits at almost any time. * Wednesday through Friday: I work in the office, so morning walks are available around 6:30–7:30 AM, and evening walks or drop-in visits are available starting around 5:30 PM. If your pet has a specific schedule or unique needs, feel free to reach out—I’m always happy to see if we can make it work! Safety, Trust & Environment Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, and daily routines to keep your pet happy and comfortable in their own home. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. Please note that I provide care in clients’ homes only and do not offer boarding in my home.
“Sonal is always amazing with our pets. She really goes above and beyond your normal pet care. She's super responsive and gives plenty of updates so we're always up to date on how our pets are in her care. I would recommend her services to anyone looking for a super caring, loving pet sitter.”

“Ashlee was great with our pups! Dalmatians can be a stubborn breed but Ashleee got to know them and handles them very well. She is very communicative during the stay and keeps us updated on the pups!”

“Maria was absolutely incredible with our two dogs, Finn and Chai! She went above and beyond—giving them tons of love, exercise, attention, and even handling medications with care. We came home to two very happy pups and a tidy space. She kept us updated the whole time and truly treated them like her own. We can’t recommend her enough and are so grateful to have found someone we trust completely!”

“I just got back from a long trip and Hailey took the BEST care of my dog, Maisy. Maisy has separation anxiety, but she loves Hailey so much and feels very comfortable with her. Hailey treats Maisy like her own dog, and she provides the best updates! 😁 Hailey kept Maisy happy and active while I was gone with many walks, backyard trips, and fun playtime. I am an anxious and pretty particular owner, but I feel 100% confident with Hailey watching my dog. When I arrived home, all of Maisy's nighttime activities were done (dinner fed, fur brushed, & teeth brushed) and the house was even cleaner than I left it. I would highly recommend Hailey, and I will definitely be hiring her again soon! 🐾”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Longwood
Zach is always extremely thorough, dependable, and attentive while caring for our cats and reef fish tanks. He follows all of our instructions and goes above and beyond to make sure our home and critters are properly cared for. His reliability, trustworthiness, and attention to detail is unmatched.

Our dogs really seemed to love her, and we came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and a house that was in great shape. Ashland took care of our dogs, cat, fish, and plants while we were away, and even did some thoughtful extras like taking out our trash and recycling. We really appreciated knowing our pets and home were well taken care of while we traveled. First time using Rover or non-family member since we all traveled together. Overall, we’re happy and will rebook in the future.
Here’s a smoother and more polished version that keeps your warmth and sincerity: I want to thank Brandee for taking such great care of Burton during his time with her! She was easy to communicate with, attentive to every detail I asked for, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving him in her care. Burton absolutely loved her, and he can be very selective about people. This was the longest time I’ve ever been away from him, and all of the pictures and check-ins gave me such a sense of peace while I was gone. I’m so grateful for the care and attention she gave him!

Maria was amazing!!! I always have felt guilty leaving our pups, but this time it felt like our boy was on vacation as well. Maria spoiled him rotten! 💕 As a rescue, he has some fears, but she loved on him with patience and kindness, and he fell in love with her and trusts her so much. I told her she was a dog whisperer, being able to touch him in situations we normally even can’t. He’s even learning to sit now thanks to Maria! She went above and beyond doing some minor clean up grooming to make O more comfortable. And, to top it all off, I received tons of photos, videos, and updates every day—I loved this so much! I felt so comfortable and would 100% recommend Maria!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Longwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Longwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Longwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Longwood. On Rover:

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
