“Jackalyn was amazing!! This was my first time using Rover and I was a little nervous but she was very attentive and kept me posted throughout the weekend with update and pictures. I am definitely using her again!”

“Zack did a wonderful job sitting for my multiple dog household. He really took his time and had patience for our little Jack-chi mix to earn his trust. Zack also took them on walks everyday and keep the house tidy upon our return. He did an awesome job of keeping us updated daily with lots of pictures and videos of all the pups! Highly recommended Zack!!”
“We were very grateful to have Jennifer's help with our three pets while out of town (an adult dog, a puppy, and a cat). We appreciated her enthusiasm to be there for our pets, be a presence for our home while we were gone, and it gave us a lot of peace of mind. She was very communicative and respectful of our home, and she took good care of our animals. Thank you, Jennifer!”

“Maria did an outstanding job taking care of our Rita for the weekend. She spent time playing and giving her lots of love, attention, and treats. We really appreciated the videos and picture updates while we were away. She even took extra care during the thunderstorms to make sure Rita was safe. Our house was kept cleaned and overall would definitely recommend Maria for any dogsitting needs!”

“Hailey was great and I’ll definitely use her again. Daily pictures showed Lucy was happy and comfortable with us being gone. Upon leaving Hailey left a detailed message of what Lucy’s day had been like up to that point and we came home to a clean house!”

About: While I may not have years of experience like some, my love for animals does not fall short. I have taken care of dogs, big and small. Some with dietary restrictions and rigid feeding routines and others with a more lax regimen. I have house sat/pet sat and stayed in the owner’s home on multiple occasions. I’ve taken care of four dogs of various sizes at once, done drop-ins to feed/change water and let the puppers out for friends and family members, and I’ve also stopped by to do something as simple as a quick walk. Whatever you need, I can do it! I can assure you that I will treat your pet as my own. I currently work full time at a law firm in downtown but I live in Sanford. I have a reliable car and I don’t mind driving. I can pet sit/house sit on weekdays but I have work so it would be morning care and evening/night. I can also take a midday break if needed. I am off on the weekends so I will be able to be there full time. Depending on the owner, I have put pets into their crates when leaving the house or at night for sleeping but I have also let them roam freely, if the owner allows it.

About: I have taken care of large hypoallergenic dogs in the past. I have an allergy to most dogs but love a small or well trained dog! I just graduated SCAD with a degree in film (will send you lots of photos of your pets) early and have an open and flexible schedule that I am looking to fill with my love of animals! I am a quiet and tidy person especially in the company of animals. Because I have lived with animals for so long I instinctively and immediately clean up or put away things that could be harmful to animals even when one is not in the house. I have been both a nanny to children with special needs as well as a pet/ house sitter for years. Respecting other people’s space is something that is very valuable to me! I do have a peanut allergy so I can not administer medication in peanut butter.

“Caitlin is amazing! She responds super fast, and I hired her for a couple of nights to stay with my nervous kitty. She was able to bond with him which is tough to do, and sent me pictures and updates while I was away. I highly recommend Caitlin for house/pet sitting!”

“Kaylee was great watching over our two boys. The dogs were very well taken care of and nurtured. She took care of the house and was communicative throughout the stay. Very much appreciated, we would recommend!”

About: Hello! My name is Brooke. I am an avid dog lover! I offer dog sitting, dog daycare, and walks. Professionally, I have worked at several dog daycares as a handler. My daily duties were to supervise around 20 dogs at one time, feed, and administer meds. I am equipped with the knowledge of dog body language and dog safety. Personally, I have grown up with dogs and cats my entire life, being the primary caregiver. I have even fostered some exotic animals such as bearded dragons and ferrets. I am passionate about the care of all animals! I am working full time, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to care for your pet. On my off time, I would love to provide care and comfort for your fur baby as you take the time to do what you need to do with peace of mind. I want to provide a calm and safe environment for your pet. Bring their favorite toys, blankets, bed over and my home will become theirs for a few hours!
“Alexandra was absolutely amazing!!! Our dog tends to get seperation anxiety and she kept her at ease and happy the entire time we were gone. We received mutiple photos, videos and updates on our pup which kept us worry free. On top of that it was an overnight stay at our house and we came back to it exactly as we left it. 10 out of 10 would recommend and will only be using her as our future sitter 😊”

About: I'm a true animal lover, and pets have always been part of my family. I currently have two cats - Felix and Felicia who completely run the house, and I was lucky enough to spend many wonderful years with my dog before he passed away. Loving and losing a pet has only deepened my appreciation for the trust people place in someone caring for their furry family members. I'm a lifelong animal lover and proud cat mom to Felix and Felicia who completely run the house. I also had a beloved dog for many years, so I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else's care. Every pet is different, and I love getting to know their unique personality. Whether they want to play, cuddle, or simply have a familiar routine, I'll care for them like they're human, with patience, affection, and plenty of attention. I’m currently in between job so I have plenty of time to spend with your pet! I’m currently Available mom-Fridays from 9am- 6pm. I can offer consistent, unhurried visits and give your pet my full attention rather than rushing through a checklist. I come to your home so your pet can stay in their own familiar environment. no stress from a new place, no disruption to their routine. I’ll follow their normal feeding schedule, walk times, and favorite spots, and stick closely to any specific instructions you give me for feeding, medication, or playtime. You’ll get updates and photos during visits so you always know your pet is happy and well cared for.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Heathrow on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 2,877 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Heathrow. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Heathrow walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Heathrow maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Heathrow choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Heathrow. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
