“I want to share a special thank you to Lisa. This past Spring, Lisa was able to take care of our pup Milo on short notice, when we had to travel to New Jersey twice for a family issue. She has made us feel as if we are part of her family. I knew that Milo was taken care of, so I could focus on my family. Milo loves her and her pups. She is the best!!”

“Juan provided services for us for our nearly 1 month vacation overseas. We needed someone reliable, caring and attentive, Juan fit that hat perfectly. Thanks to Juan and his superb dog boarding we could be practically a world away and still get regular updates/pictures. He also took care of our newest addition to our family, our puppy Chewie who was not even 6months old and provided him loving care while also giving him structure to learn and grow. Thanks again we will be using Juan in the future.”

“Thank you so much! 😊🐶This was Bono’s first time staying with her, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. She took such great care of him and kept me updated throughout, which I really appreciated. Her communication was excellent, and it was clear that Bono was in great hands. I’m definitely planning to book with her again whenever I need someone. Highly recommend!”

About: A Home Away From Home for Your Dog 🐾 Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives. In May 2026, we said goodbye to our beloved Chihuahua-mix rescue, Shredderz. The hole he left in our hearts is enormous. We aren’t ready for another lifelong dog just yet, but we also know that our love for dogs isn’t going anywhere. So we found a way to keep dogs in our lives while giving them something wonderful in return: a true home away from home. We love to travel, and we’ve learned firsthand how difficult it can be to travel with a dog. And when your dog is family, traditional boarding just doesn’t feel like an option. That’s actually what inspired us to create The Doghouse Inn, a dog-themed vacation rental we owned from 2022–2025. We didn’t just allow dogs. We designed the experience around them. They had their own room, a literal dog castle made of beds, and a dog park in the backyard. 🐶🏰 We learned something during those years: dogs deserve to feel like welcome guests, too. Now we’d love to offer that same feeling to your dog in our home. When your pup stays with us, they’re not being tucked away in a kennel or treated like an afterthought. They’ll be part of our home, our routine, and our day. We’ll give them attention, affection, playtime, cozy places to nap, and all the little comforts that help them feel secure while you’re away. And because we’ve loved and lost a dog ourselves, we understand something else very deeply: Leaving your dog with someone is an act of trust. We don’t take that trust lightly. We’re not trying to replace Shredderz. We’re simply opening a door that he helped us discover: sometimes loving dogs means loving the ones who need a safe place to stay, too. If you’re looking for a home away from home where your dog will be genuinely loved and cared for while you’re traveling, we’d be honored to welcome them. ❤️🐾 We both work from home, so your dog will have plenty of company throughout the day. Our schedules also give us flexibility, and when one of us has a commitment outside the home, the other stays behind. We love having dogs as part of our daily routine and are happy to include them in our work-from-home day. 🐾 We have a spacious 2,000-square-foot home on its own property with a completely fenced-in backyard and a screened-in pool. There are no other pets in our home, and we only board one family’s dogs at a time, so your dog gets our full attention without having to share the space with other boarding dogs. Our quiet, safe neighborhood has sidewalks for easy walks, and there’s a park about a mile away. Our fenced yard also gives dogs plenty of room to stretch their legs and run some serious zoomies. 🐾 We have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and truly enjoy having them in our home. Our goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, loving environment where your dog can settle in and feel at home while you’re away.
“Alexandra was great with my Milo. From the moment Milo met her he was excited!! She updated me with pictures while I was away!! Definitely would recommend Alexandra to watch your fur baby!! She was awesome with mine!!”

“Terrie was fantastic with my three dogs. One was a six month old puppy who needs more attention and Terrie gave it to her. I felt so comfortable leaving my pups with her. She clearly loves dogs and her home is set up to make all dogs comfortable. She is very considerate with dogs and their personalities and their special dispositions. She made my day so enjoyable because there were no worries concerning my pups care.”

“Had a last minute emergency with another sitter while out of the country, Amanda was so accommodating! She was the perfect fit for our fur baby and will definitely use her in the future BEFORE calling anyone else!”

“Rachel took great care of our kitty when we had to go out of town for 10 days. She sent daily updates with pics and videos. Luna is a shy cat and doesn’t like new environments but was comfortable and happy. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave her there again.”

“Alex and his family were wonderful to Ellie. It was her first time ever staying away from a family member taking care of her. The photos that were sent were amazing and communication was fabulous. We would highly recommend Alexander to take care of your puppers!”

“This was the first time leaving my dog and using Lili, it won’t be the last. Dobby was having such a great time I was worried he wouldn’t want to go home. I would definitely recommend Lili for any dog. You won’t find better!!”

“Michelle was absolutely wonderful with our dog Jax! She was awesome sending photos and videos, showing all the fun things they did for the week long stay! Super easy to work with and would definitely book with her again. Jax also gave the stamp of approval ? Thanks Michelle!!”
“Ashley and Jacob were amazing! From the beginning, they made both me and my puppies feel completely comfortable and welcomed. Their home was very neat, clean, and a great environment for Nala and Apollo. They communicated with me throughout their stay, kept me updated, and sent the cutest pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs they watch and made my pups feel right at home. I would definitely trust them with Nala and Apollo again and highly recommend them!”

“Linda was Amazing!!!! Her communication was outstanding and her care and love for my dogs was everything that I hoped for. I am so happy to have found such a wonderful, loving, caring, understanding dog sitter.”

“Maria is a true professional! So kind, warm and attentive. My husband and I travel frequently and the one thing we never have to worry about is our pup. Maria cares for her like she’s her own and sends plenty of photos and videos. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“They always take such great care of our girl. Skye loves her time there and has never came back with any sort or scratch or illness. Peace of mind - care that is faithful and kind. Great choice fully recommend.”

“This was our first time booking with Victoria, and Rocket absolutely loved it! He adjusted quickly and even made a new friend, Leo. Victoria was incredibly responsive, providing daily updates with pictures and videos, which gave us peace of mind. She took excellent care of Rocket, and we truly appreciate her attention to detail. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Heathrow
I had an amazing experience! The most important thing to me was that my precious Bella felt comfortable, and I could tell from the photos that she was relaxed and happy. That gave me so much peace of mind. Communication was excellent throughout the entire stay, and they were incredibly flexible when I needed to extend Bella’s stay by an extra day. From the moment we arrived, both she and her husband came out together to welcome Bella, and they absolutely fell in love with her. It was obvious that they genuinely care about the pets they look after. I highly recommend them and would definitely trust them with Bella again!

Karen took exceptional care of our goldendoodle, Teddi. She sent frequent updates and photos and took her on a lot of walks. She went over and above to make sure Teddi felt comfortable and cared for. I would definitely recommend Karen for anyone needing a sitter for their fur baby!

This a great sitter for my 2 boys, Carina is a caring, loving sitter and treats your pets as if they are her pets. The boys have a great time over Carina's house, with 3, 4 legged playmates and one that looks like them, but in mini form for now, also a little human that interacts with the boys as they are her puppies, all had a great time! Carina sends pictures of your pet while your away, just looking in their little faces, they are happy and comfortable staying over. I have already booked their next stay there, very pleased with her service.

Susann and her family took Björn in for a long weekend and truly treated him like one of their own. He got tons of walks, playing at the dog park and at their home. I explained Björn had separation anxiety, and they made sure he was never alone. I’m so glad i found you, and that you were available with such short notice. You made my trip so much less stressful. Love that you have everything in your home to welcome our furry children. Thank you so much! Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
