“Linda was fantastic we were getting married locally and our dog was in the ceremony she responded very quickly to arrange sitting him and we were very thankful he was well taken care of on our special day!”

“We brought our dogs by before their stay, and they loved having the large backyard to run and play in. Although there was a small language barrier, communication was still easy. She also sent us pictures to keep us updated, which we really appreciated. Such a nice couple to trust with your dogs while you’re away!”

“Thank you so much for taking such good care of Tyler while I was away! He had a great time playing in the yard and with your dogs. I didn't have to worry about him at all as I knew he was in great hands! Thanks also for making sure he took his medications.”

“This was my first time booking with Jim. I had a great experience. Jim had a meet and greet before the stay which made me feel comfortable to meet him and see where Finley would be staying. Jim watched Finley for three nights and took great care of him. He was very responsive and sent photo updates. I'll be booking with Jim again and would highly recommend him.”

“Thank you so much! 😊🐶This was Bono’s first time staying with her, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. She took such great care of him and kept me updated throughout, which I really appreciated. Her communication was excellent, and it was clear that Bono was in great hands. I’m definitely planning to book with her again whenever I need someone. Highly recommend!”

“Luke took care of our two little doggos and also my in-law’s dog. Though there was some complexity with drop off due to the home being in a gated community, Luke kept in touch and was quite flexible about adapting to changes in our schedule. We were traveling for a funeral and his kindness and accommodations were very much appreciated. The doggos came home happy and clearly well cared for.”

“MJ was amazing watching my pup, the photos proved she felt comfortable in her home, even playing with her doggies! Will definitely be contacting her for future sitting, and so should you!”

About: A Home Away From Home for Your Dog 🐾 Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives. In May 2026, we said goodbye to our beloved Chihuahua-mix rescue, Shredderz. The hole he left in our hearts is enormous. We aren’t ready for another lifelong dog just yet, but we also know that our love for dogs isn’t going anywhere. So we found a way to keep dogs in our lives while giving them something wonderful in return: a true home away from home. We love to travel, and we’ve learned firsthand how difficult it can be to travel with a dog. And when your dog is family, traditional boarding just doesn’t feel like an option. That’s actually what inspired us to create The Doghouse Inn, a dog-themed vacation rental we owned from 2022–2025. We didn’t just allow dogs. We designed the experience around them. They had their own room, a literal dog castle made of beds, and a dog park in the backyard. 🐶🏰 We learned something during those years: dogs deserve to feel like welcome guests, too. Now we’d love to offer that same feeling to your dog in our home. When your pup stays with us, they’re not being tucked away in a kennel or treated like an afterthought. They’ll be part of our home, our routine, and our day. We’ll give them attention, affection, playtime, cozy places to nap, and all the little comforts that help them feel secure while you’re away. And because we’ve loved and lost a dog ourselves, we understand something else very deeply: Leaving your dog with someone is an act of trust. We don’t take that trust lightly. We’re not trying to replace Shredderz. We’re simply opening a door that he helped us discover: sometimes loving dogs means loving the ones who need a safe place to stay, too. If you’re looking for a home away from home where your dog will be genuinely loved and cared for while you’re traveling, we’d be honored to welcome them. ❤️🐾 We both work from home, so your dog will have plenty of company throughout the day. Our schedules also give us flexibility, and when one of us has a commitment outside the home, the other stays behind. We love having dogs as part of our daily routine and are happy to include them in our work-from-home day. 🐾 We have a spacious 2,000-square-foot home on its own property with a completely fenced-in backyard and a screened-in pool. There are no other pets in our home, and we only board one family’s dogs at a time, so your dog gets our full attention without having to share the space with other boarding dogs. Our quiet, safe neighborhood has sidewalks for easy walks, and there’s a park about a mile away. Our fenced yard also gives dogs plenty of room to stretch their legs and run some serious zoomies. 🐾 We have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and truly enjoy having them in our home. Our goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, loving environment where your dog can settle in and feel at home while you’re away.
“If I could give Kimberly a thousand stars, I would! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She was absolutely amazing with Diesel. From the very beginning, I felt completely comfortable leaving him with her. She kept me updated with pictures and messages, and it was so easy to see how happy, comfortable, and loved he was. 🥹❤️ Diesel was treated like part of the family lots of attention, playtime, cuddles, and even some extra couch privileges 😂. Knowing he was being so well cared for allowed me to enjoy my trip without worrying about him. I’m so grateful we found Kimberly and would absolutely trust her with Diesel again. I couldn’t recommend her enough! 🐾❤️”

“Miranda & Curtis is the perfect family I found to watch my two German Shepherd’s! Gave me cute updates with pictures and videos and their own dog, Lucky, made our dogs feel at home. I have booked twice so far and will continue my boarding with them.”

“Douglania is a gentle spirit. My pug Bea loved her. She followed instructions regarding her care and I have now used her twice, and will use her 2 more weeks before the year is out! She is awesome. She is easy to communicate with and will text updates if you prefer.”

“Janelle was so good with Finnegan! And also with me, super patient and very accommodating. She sent tons of pics and video of him playing in her huge yard. I would definitely recommend her.”

Xena and her assistant trainer Taylor were fantastic! They took very good care of our rambunctious boy Arthur. Our guy is 70lbs and still has a bit of a wild puppy energy and behaviors that would be too much for some. It wad a releif to know these ladies were able to handle him and take excellent care of him while we were out of town. Would certainly recommend them.

Thank you for this opportunity to express how my dog was cared for while I was on vacation. She didn’t adjust well at first and was having a difficult time with her separation anxiety. They worked with her they were patient, loving and caring. This is the second time that I have boarded here and the only place we will go. Definitely, definitely recommend daycare or boarding here.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
