“Dan was great and went over and above to make sure my dog was well taken care of and that both my dog and my son were safe during hurricane Milton when I was out of town. I highly recommend Dan and trust him with my Auggie!”

“Peter was great with our two cats. He sent photos and was able to adapt to their prescription dietary needs. We also had a few packages delivered while we were gone and he brought them in! Would recommend.”

“Michelle is great! Punctual and follows directions well. She sends great pictures and videos and I can tell she enjoys the time she spends with my girls! Coming home to happy pets and a clean house is great!”

About: I have grown up with dogs of all shapes and sizes my entire life! I enjoy being around animals and love to take care of them. I own two female German shorthaired pointers who have TONS of energy! And that’s what I love most about them. I know how important it is to meet all animals exactly where they’re at temperament wise. I truly enjoy being around animals…more than humans sometimes! I look forward to getting to walk or play with your fur babies! I work a hybrid job, so I am remote 2-3 times a week where I am fully home all day with my pups. On the days I go into the office, my partner comes home during lunch to let our dogs out. On weekends, I am home full time as well. I have a big fenced in backyard perfect for activities! My own pups love to run around and play fetch back there. Dogs are allowed in furniture and to sleep in the bed in my house.
“Victoria is great with our elder cat Lola! She is always on time and gives Lola all of the love she needs. Communication is great. We are so happy we found someone we can trust.”

“Zachary did a great job with all my fur babies. Getting daily photos were great and he paid attention to detail which I really appreciate. Will definitely use his services again in the future.”

“I’m very pleased to have found Caitlyn to help with my 3 kitties. One requires an inhaler, which is not easy to administer since he hates it, but she was very patient with him making sure he got the treatment he needs. My cats can be shy, but I can tell from the pictures that they enjoyed Caitlyn’s company. I’m grateful to have someone I can trust to help with my sweet boys!”

“Jackalyn is an excellent pet sitter. She took care of our cat while we spent time at the beach. Not only did she make sure our cat was fed, but she also played with her, opened and closed the window blinds for her, and even brushed her. On top of that, she fed our fish and managed the aquarium light schedule in the morning and evening. Jackalyn demonstrated a genuine love for animals and consistently went above and beyond in caring for our pets. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

“My dog was very anxious with us leaving for the day and Jennifer went above and beyond to comfort her and put her at ease. I’m grateful to have found Jennifer!”

“Ava did a wonderful job taking care of our 2 dogs and cat. She sent lots of pictures and loved on our pets while we were gone. Will definitely be reaching out again for our pets!”

“I met Becca last week before this visit and had a great first visit going over the details of care for my Geriatric Cat. Becca communicated with me every step of the way and took pictures throughout her visit. I know Sneakers enjoyed the attention. When I got home, he was sleeping in his box and everything looked great! Thank you so much for loving on Sneakers.”

“Tatiana was very kind and friendly. She did all the things I asked her to in caring for my dog. I felt very comfortable being away knowing that my dog would be cared for.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Longwood
1st day back. At 10:40am I heard Gizmo meowing. He was sitting by the front door looking out. This was the time Caitlyn visited everyday. He was obviously looking for her. That pretty much says it all. She took great care of him and kept us informed every day.
Luisa is timely and we’ve used her twice to check in on our kitties. One of our kitties can be a bit territorial so we are grateful that she is so fearless and willing to check in on him. She sends us great photos and updates on how the kitties are doing while we are gone

This is my second time booking with Addie and couldn’t recommend her more. I am confident that she will be reliable, respectful, and loving with my cat. I appreciate that she stays for the whole time making sure the animal feels the love and attention, and she is excellent with her updates and quick responses!

This was my first time using a sitter and Jessica was amazing! My three boy cats were well taken care of and she made sure to send some great pics of them while I was away. Even the scaredy-cat came out eventually and got some treats. Jessica communicated each visit and how everything went which helped me feel secure knowing someone super caring was watching over them. I will definitely book her again for my next trip!

Maria was wonderful with Penny for a few drop in visits while I was away! Penny is a senior cat who hides a lot and sometimes soils outside of the box when stressed. Maria always made sure to find where she was hiding, bring extra food and water closer to her, and give her lots of love. She even cleaned up the accidents which was so helpful. Maria is our go-to any time we travel!

We’re so grateful for Cailyn coming by to take care of Pluto (even though he was apparently a moody boy 😑). She is very efficient and great at communicating what’s happening with your pet while you’re away. This is our second time booking with her and hopefully she’ll be open to pet sitting again the next time we’re looking to leave town. Thank you, Cailyn!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Longwood. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
