About: I’ve been caring for animals of all kinds for over a decade. I have cared for cats, dogs, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, parrots, bunnies, and fish. I love animals and have a very open schedule, so I am looking to spend my time doing something i love- caring for animals! I have cared for animals of all personalities and types, and have experience handling medications and fixing invisible fences as well! Im currently a fresh grad and job searching so I can very flexible. I want to keep working while i search for my next move in life! I live in an apartment downtown, so I do not have a yard. That being said, it is better for me to house-sit than board, but I am open to boarding as i live near several parks like Marion square!
“Great couple with perfect fenced back yard and neighborhood with loads of kids who love dogs! Kimberly and Dylan were wonderful sitters for Ebony. She had so much fun!!”

“Our pups have stayed with Hannah twice and both times have been great experiences. She communicated well, sent plenty of photos, and took good care of our dogs.”
“Bootsie and Tom were wonderful with our dog Roxy! This was the first time Roxy has stayed with anyone besides family, and they made her feel right at home. They sent us frequent updates and pictures to let us know that she was doing great. We will definitely be reaching out to them if we need a place for our little fur baby to stay. She came home happy, healthy and maybe a little bit more spoiled than usual. ?”

“Gabriela was amazing! Mav will definitely be going back to her. She kept me updated with photos and little messages, took Mav on so many walks and was so accommodating with travel disruptions! Always a good feeling when your dog comes home happy and healthy from the dog sitters! 🙂”
About: Hi! I'm Rachel, a recent College of Charleston graduate with a B.A. in psychology. I have spent the last 16 years raising and caring for dogs. Animals have always been a significant part of my life, as my family dog even helped me take my first steps. I started dog sitting in my neighborhood when I was 10 years old and haven't stopped since. One neighbor invited me over every Tuesday to meet her new foster puppy of the week, which is how I adopted my first puppy, Rocky. During my senior year of high school, I got my second dog, Sadie, who has taught me as much as I have taught her. My experience extends beyond my pets, as friends and family come to me for help with training their new puppies and to take care of their pets while they are away. Whether you have a playful puppy or a sweet senior, I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages. If you're looking for a sitter who truly understands dogs and will love your pet as if they were my own, I’d love to help! I am currently looking for job opportunities so my schedule is wide open. Let me know what works best for you and your pet, and I will be happy to accommodate your needs. I live in a two-bedroom condo with my 9y/o dog Sadie, who loves having new friends around. I also have a neighborhood dog park just a short walk away, where I take her to run around and get her energy out. We also have lots of great walking paths and parks around us to explore. Whether your dog stays with me or I care for them in your home, I can follow your routines and will prioritize their safety and comfort above all else.
“Julia is fantastic and I’m so glad my dog Louie gets to stay with her while I’m traveling. She is flexible and lovely and takes great care of Louie. Highly recommend. Thanks so much, Julia!”

“Rebecca was a fantastic sitter!! She took such great care of my dog, Kona, while I was out of town. Her dog, Bruce, is very friendly and got along great with Kona! Rebecca sent updates and pictures daily, which I greatly appreciated! She even took the dogs to the beach one day! Highly recommend. I will be using Rebecca for all of my dog sitting needs in the future!”

“As expected, Large Henry has returned from vacationing with White Henry (and Richard) and he’s happy, healthy, the right kind of exhausted, and all too eager to silently shame us for not providing him with the luxuries and indulgences that have been his norm for the past week. No more multiple meandering walks and exploratory trips to the dog park, no more constant companionship provided by buddy-dogs 24-7… he’s quite disappointed to be stuck with us in his day-to-day spoiled events… apparently he’s had a taste of how the elite dogs live, and now he’s having a hard time going back. Thanks a lot, Richard. (Seriously though- thanks for flexibility and patience, more useful in dealing with Henry’s owners than managing dozens of dogs, I would imagine).”

“Carissa and her husband took amazing care of my girl Sadie! I was sent lots of picture and video updates and responses were always quick when I reached out. 100% recommend!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter! Emily kept us updated with plenty of photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Gunner came home happy and clearly well-loved. It was obvious he received lots of attention, playtime, and excellent care. It's such a relief to find someone who treats your pet like family. If you're looking for a loving and reliable Rover sitter, I recommend Emily and Tarek without hesitation. We'll definitely be booking with them again. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Gunner!”

“Our two older boys came with us to Charleston for a family vacation. Our accommodations were not pet friendly but I wanted them to be nearby as they can be anxious when alone for extended periods. Anna and her husband were great and kept us updated on our boys all week. I could tell they felt right at home. She made sure they had what they needed and her home was great for my boys and similar to what they were used to at home. She sent me frequent updates and photos throughout the week. We appreciate her loving them like her own and will definitely use her services again if in the area with the pups! I recommend her for any family who wants their pups to be safe and happy while they are vacationing- I had peace of mind the whole time we were away!”

“Sheila and her fam did a great job of caring for our girl, Stella. Their dog Jersey is the sweetest as well. Stella came back tired and barely able to keep her eyes open - which is a great feat! Thanks y’all!”

“Kaylie and Jonathan absolutely went above and beyond while my boy stayed with them! They did fun enrichment activities with him every day, he got so much attention and they even sent him home with a little goodie bag. I will absolutely be using them anytime I need someone to watch our pups!”

About: I’ve had a dog since I was 5 years old! My neighbors often ask me to walk/dogsit. I have experience keeping care of dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages! I am a MUSC student off for the summer, so my schedule is open almost every day of the week! I will be available from morning to night almost all days! I live in a condominium that has a nearby dog park. I also already have an extra dog bed and some toys. However, I personally don’t have any dogs living with me now.

“Natasha did a great job taking care of my sweet dog Poppy.. She was very communicative and sent pictures which are so important to me. I will definitely use her to care for Poppy in the future.”

“John was a fantastic sitter for my two dogs! Communication was great, I received pics/videos of the dogs while I was away and they were very happy! I’d highly recommend John’s services and will be re-booking in the future!”

“Kendra was an amazing sitter and would highly recommend her. Our dog is a senior pet and has mobility issues. She was so accommodating, kind to him, and made sure he was well taken care of. I had no worries at all while we were away for the evening.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Charleston
We were in town and needed a sitter with only a couple days to prepare. Jesse was available and very willing to take out little guy! He was great at communicating and meeting us on arrival and pickup. Grateful that Cheddar had a great stay with him and would definitely book again!

Brayden was awesome with my babies. When I picked them up they were so happy, I could tell they had a greak time with him. He was also able to take them running for some real exercise and not just a romp at the dog park. I know my Roxie is a little lightning rod, so he's more appropriated for her dealing with her non stop energy. If you're considering someone who's considerate and will care for your dogs as his own, look no further!

Shelby did an incredible job watching my dog, Franny! She sent me updates and pictures throughout the entire stay and made sure Franny got enough exercise and playtime. Franny had so much fun that she didn’t want to leave! I would definitely book with Shelby again and recommend her to anyone looking for a great sitter!

Ariana was awesome! She took care of my high energy dog Gus and he came back to me super happy and seemed very well cared for! She also sent me lots of pictures of him throughout the stay which was great and super cute! Could not recommend her enough and will definitely be booking with her again!!

Constantine was amazing! My dog Pepino is very fearful, and he gave him all the time he needed to adjust. He sent us photos and updates every day and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process. It was a wonderful experience both for our dog and for us. I would definitely choose him again!! Thank you, Constantine!

I had a wonderful experience with Campbell! She was communicative, kind, and incredibly attentive throughout the entire stay. It was clear she genuinely cared about my pets and made them feel comfortable and at home from the start. She also really eased my apprehensions about leaving them, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I truly appreciated the updates and thoughtful care she provided. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter, and I would happily rebook with her again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
