“Natasha did a great job watching our dog Harley. She sent updates and pictures throughout her stay that made us feel better about leaving her for the weekend. I would definitely recommend booking with her!”

“Alyssa was so great! Sent regular updates with pics/videos and she was so patient with my dog who takes a little time to warm up. Gave me peace of mind knowing he was in good hands while I was away!”

“Julia is fantastic and I’m so glad my dog Louie gets to stay with her while I’m traveling. She is flexible and lovely and takes great care of Louie. Highly recommend. Thanks so much, Julia!”

“True professional. Always gives updates on your pets. Extremely punctual and very attentive to the needs of your pets. I recommend this sitter and will definitely keep rebooking.”

“Bootsie and Tom's is the only home away from home for our senior dog! He's always happy to see them and we never worry for a minute while he's there. We'd give as many stars as we could give!”

“Highly recommend Mary Anne. Very detailed, knowledable and friendly. Great with communication and photos. Our pup Rex looks forward to future visits with Mary Anne and her two dogs!”

“Katelynn and her fiancé cared for my two Golden Retrievers for the weekend at their home. They have a nice home with a fully fenced backyard for the dogs to run and play in. My pups had a great time playing with their dog, Rosie. They sent pictures and videos throughout their stay and were responsive to messages I sent to check in on my dogs. I recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to bring my pups back to them!”

“Best dog sitter ever. My Daisy had a blast once she settled in. Tori gave her plenty of puppy play time and one on one human time. She even bought her a birthday cookie because we had to be out of town on her 2nd birthday🥹. She even tolerated my weirdo’s blanket chewing habit. Other Doberman owners will understand. Will definitely be using Tori again. Not sure our dog even wanted to come home. She was happy to see us but she certainly enjoyed her time there.”

“Michelle watched our 4 year old golden for the weekend and was amazing! She kept us updated each day and showed him all the love. Can’t recommend her enough!!”

“Oksana and her family took amazing care of our dog! We were on our honeymoon and she sent us a lot of great pictures and communicated the entire time. We are so thankful!”

“They took such good care of our pooch who enjoyed her stay and had comfy places to snuggle. They were also very communicative and flexible and we appreciate the pictures. Thank you!”

“Connie was very communicative before and during my dog’s stay with her, and I felt very comfortable leaving him in her care. He seemed to enjoy his stay (especially spending time in her nice, sunny back yard) and we will be booking with Connie again.”

“Thank-you for being so sweet to Riley. Sadly we had to out her down yesterday, but we know she is chasing her brother at the Rainbow Bridge. Y’all were very kind and we appreciate you!”
“Natalie is by far the best! She treated Winni as her own and I am so blessed to know the love and attention her and her dog Diesel gave to Winni for the very long extended stay they had her. She provided many pictures and I got to see my dogs relationship grow either her dog Diesel.”

“Jasmine and her husband have been great to work with. She closed off some booking dates due to having a baby on the way, but allowed George to stay with her again as he is a pet she has cared for prior. She gave him medication as needed, made sure he got his walks in, and gave him a comfortable stay (we also learned he fears owls lol). If we need boarding again we are happy to book with her again. Thank you again Jasmine and congrats on the (soon newborn) baby :)”

“Took great care of my dog for 12 days. She sent me photos every day and showed how much fun my dog was having. Lowkey don’t think my dog wanted to come home. Would highly recommend!”

Could not have asked for a better sitter! Morgan and Matthew treated Norman like he was their own and spoiled him with so much love and attention. They even had a pup cup ready for him when I dropped him off. It was obvious from the updates and photos that he was feeling right at home. I think he was genuinely sad to leave when I picked him up 😂 I would 100% recommend - they’re the kind of people you hope to find on Rover!

Amareigh was an awesome host for our grand-dog, Ollie! Ollie is a “one-person” dog…well maybe three-person when you count us grands…and we were concerned how she would adapt to a new caregiver and a new environment. Amareigh soothed our concerns with daily photos that clearly showed Ollie’s comfort and peace in the host location. We’ll definitely use Amareigh whenever we need a host?

Jennifer always takes the best care of our elderly dog, Gary. She is reliable and very responsive to communication. She is also the best about sending daily updates while we are away. It allows us to fully enjoy ourselves while out of town, because we know our boy is in the best of hands. Thank you, Jennifer!

Janine was absolutely wonderful. She is beyond knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind, and caring. She genuinely loves dogs and gives the most amazing advice and guidance for a novice puppy owner like me. Having never had anyone take care of my sweet puppy I was extremely nervous to leave her with a total stranger but Janine immediately put me at ease. I’m not sure it would be possible to find anyone else as good as she is to care for your dog.

Kayla is a very sweet young woman who took excellent care of our 6 pound, 13 year old dog Mollie. She obviously is very experienced with dogs of all ages and knew just how to care for a senior dog. When we returned to pick up our dog Mollie, she was very calm and happy which was a sure indication that she had been well cared for and felt very safe and secure in Kayla’s care. We plan to call on Kayla again to take care of Mollie whenever we have to travel without her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
