“Incredible experience. Michael incredibly communicative and Dennis had a blast. I think he’s even sad to come home and not get all the attention and play with the new friends he made. I highly recommend Michael in every way.”

“You can tell Kathryn loves dogs and has experience! She is so kind, responsive and flexible. I have a nervous dog but felt super comfortable leaving her with Kathryn and her family. Great back yard for the pups to play and lots of toys! Will definitely keep her in mind for the next time. Thank you, Kathryn!”

“John was great with providing updates and photos. They have a fenced in backyard so my high energy dog loved her time with them. Also John was super flexible with pick up times and accepted my booking last minute, which was much appreciated! Highly recommend booking with John!”

“I am so thankful for the wonderful care provided while I was away ❤️ Kathryn & Hovey were super accommodating and made diesel comfy and cared for. I really appreciated the updates & pics too - thanks so much! We will definitely be reaching out for care in the future.”

“Gabriela was fantastic! She was so easy to coordinate with on the front end, and very accommodating for a last minute request. She was also great with my pup and sent multiple pictures each day”

“Jessica was patient with our dog who was having trouble going to the bathroom outside in an unfamiliar place. She worked with her and gave us updates along the way. Palmer has a lot of puppy and lab energy and seemed to have a great time playing with the other dogs and getting that energy out. We’d board with her again!”

“Nadra was an all around amazing sitter! We had a nice meet & greet so that my dog was comfortable going to her house prior to the sit. She has a nice big yard and my girl just loved it. Nadra sent daily updates and pictures! She was very responsive! I highly recommend her and will definitely seek her services in the future.”

“Victoria was great with Riley! Riley felt very comfortable with Victoria, which is rare, and was very happy during her stay. Victoria sent photos which was greatly appreciated. We will definitely have Riley stay with Victoria again!”

“Rachel was wonderful! Took great care of Trooper, he seemed to love her and her dog Sadie who is an absolute angel. She sent picture updates every day and made me feel very comfortable. Will definitely be booking again!”

“Sharon (and her husband Mike) were absolutely wonderful with our cockapoo, Millie, and are an incredibly nice couple who truly enjoy dogs. Millie stayed with them for 5 days/4 nights so that we could visit relatives in MA. They bonded with her immediately at our Meet and Greet and nothing was too much for them during her stay; they made sure she got lots of tummy rubs and couch time combined with frequent games of fetching balls in their great backyard, sending frequent photos. Millie and their Heidi ended up being happy companions - after an early spat when Millie thought her dogfood was in danger - but Shannon and Mike quickly got that sorted out. They are very careful about dog safety which I really appreciate. Millie will definitely be returning!”

“Gabrielle is the best dog sitter we’ve ever had! If I could give 10 stars I would! She took Smoke on so many fun outings and sent regular pictures and updates. She is super flexible, and she’s an animal lover. Smoke didn’t want to leave her when I picked him up. We will definitely book again!”

“Natalie is an awesome sitter! I was out of town for 5 days and received lots of pictures of my pup on walks, playing with her dog, morning cuddles, etc. Knowing he was getting loved on and having fun made my trip so much better. Can’t recommend her enough!”

“Janine was absolutely wonderful. She is beyond knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind, and caring. She genuinely loves dogs and gives the most amazing advice and guidance for a novice puppy owner like me. Having never had anyone take care of my sweet puppy I was extremely nervous to leave her with a total stranger but Janine immediately put me at ease. I’m not sure it would be possible to find anyone else as good as she is to care for your dog.”

About: I’ve had dogs all throughout my life and recognize the important part they play in their family’s life. They deserve lots of love and attention, which unfortunately none of us have an endless amount of. That’s where I’d love to step in! Currently, my work schedule is random but often allows me to help where I can. I’m hoping to bring home a new pup later this year, but as I wait, I’d love to be able to help take care of yours! I’m very active and enjoy being outdoors, so I assure you your pet won’t be bored! I’m available for weekday drop ins and walks as well as weekend boarding. I’m most comfortable accepting boarding in my own home as I’m married, but special arrangements can be discussed if needed. I live 10 minutes from Sullivan’s island, so in addition to walks around Mt. Pleasant, I’d love to take your pup to the beach if you board with me!
“Carly took such great care of our dog Sigma. She sent us pictures every day and we loved that he was in a family environment with outdoor space. I think Sigma still misses being around their two kids who are very good with dogs as well.”

About: An animal lover since childhood, I’ve had cats & dogs. Currently have a 10 yo Norwich Terrier. And Victor grew up on a dairy farm. So we’re both animal lovers. I work from home and have a fenced yard so there are frequent bio breaks and squirrel sightings to keep your dog busy. We also take walks in the Riverland Terrace neighborhood where we live. Our Norwich Terrier, Duke, loves other dogs. Since I work from home, Duke tends to sleep next to my desk. Your dog can too. We take several outdoor breaks for either bathroom, getting sunshine, rolling in the grass or barking at squirrels.
“Oksana and her family took amazing care of our dog! We were on our honeymoon and she sent us a lot of great pictures and communicated the entire time. We are so thankful!”

About: I'm a mature, loving pet and house sitter who's responsible, honest, reliable-and fun!.I have cared for puppies, kittens, dogs, cats, rabbits. Each one has a unique personality. I believe that each of these beings have little souls! And I love them all. I am a semi retired artist and photographer, so my schedule is my own. My schedule is flexible so I can accommodate most schedules easily. I treat every home and pet as if they were my own. I am neat and clean and respectful of your home. I am also a "super Host" on AirBNB
“Tadhg had a great time at Erin’s house, playing with her dogs. He’s so bored now he doesn’t know what to do with himself. he looks perfectly healthy and happy. He stayed a whole week.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sullivans Island
Parish and his wife were awesome. Very kind and caring people who communicated regularly and took exceptional care of our senior dog Mollie, including her meds. Parish works remotely so Mollie was able to hang out with him every day and snuggle, which is an absolute must for a spoiled, only dog Shih-Tzu. Parish and his wife have a beautiful, spotless home and they sent pictures of Mollie parked in front of their huge glass window, watching the squirrels outdoors, which is the thing she loves to do the most. I can always tell when I pick Molly up if she was well cared for by how she reacts to me. When I picked her up from Parish and his wife, Mollie could have cared less if I was there or not. That only happens when she has had such a good time and was so well cared for by the sitter. I plan to ask Parish to care for Mollie every time we leave town without her from now on and I can recommend him without any reservations. I feel very fortunate to have discovered Parish on Rover.

Mary is absolutely amazing! She takes such great care of Winston every time he stays with her. We always know he’s in the best hands, and it’s clear how much she genuinely cares about him. Winston absolutely loves his time with Mary, and we love the peace of mind that comes with knowing he’s happy, safe, and spoiled with attention. He also loves his girlfriend Stella too.We couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Gabrielle is the best dog sitter we’ve ever had! If I could give 10 stars I would! She took Smoke on so many fun outings and sent regular pictures and updates. She is super flexible, and she’s an animal lover. Smoke didn’t want to leave her when I picked him up. We will definitely book again!

Tamara and Steven were wonderful dog sitters! They were incredibly flexible and accommodating, which made everything so easy. They kept us updated with regular messages and lots of great photos, so we always knew our pup was happy and well cared for. It gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, reliable sitters!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
