“Jonathan and Carla did such a great job with Captain. They sent pictures and he was obviously having a grand time. They also agreed to keep him on short notice when we had a family situation come up. Really appreciated their help.”

“Some people are just natural dog lovers and Kathryn and her family are ones. Felt so comfortable leaving our dogs with them and knew they were in good hands. Thank you!”

“Jessica is great! Rocky loves spending time with her and has a great time while he is there. She is extremely communicative and understanding. I highly recommend Jess to anyone!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life. Growing up, both of my sisters were allergic to dogs, so I spent my childhood and now adult life taking care of my friends' and family's pets whenever needed! I love all types of dogs: big, small, shy, and excited! I am currently a law student at CSOL! I have a miniature dachshund that loves other dogs, and I have a great time taking care of fur babies! My fiancé is a remote software engineer who loves dogs and spends his breaks playing with the dogs while I'm at school (8 am-noon, 4 days a week) :) I care for all dogs equally! I make sure they are well walked and played with. When checking on the dogs, I make sure they have plenty of food, water, playtime, etc. We keep an extra dog bed (size large), crate, toys, blankets, and food bowls, so no need to worry if anything is forgotten!
“We would be happy to have Zach watch our dog again! His communication was great with updates and photos daily while we were away, and he went above and beyond to make sure our pup got a special treat for her birthday that would work for her allergy and dietary restrictions which was very thoughtful. Highly recommend Zach!”

“Nadra cared for our 3 dogs for a week and kept us updated with photos. She has a secure well fenced yard. When we picked them up they were happy and healthy. I will definitely book her again if she is available. David L.”

“Sassy had a wonderful time staying with John and Faith while we were out of town. They were so loving and attentive and spoiled her rotten the way we do! I love that! They sent lots of pictures while we were away to keep us updated on how she was doing. I highly recommend and I will definitely be using them again in the future.”

“Toad had a great time ! She got to run around in a lovely huge backyard and had constant attention, plus another Pug to play with. She even got to explore the neighborhood with walks. I can tell she misses her new Pug friend too. Abby even mixed some of her own food with Toads to get to her to eat there since she was a little nervous the first day. I was kept updated with pictures and communication the whole time. I can tell Toad had a wonderful time and would use Abigail again to watch Toad for a day or boarding without hesitation!”

“Carly took such great care of our dog Sigma. She sent us pictures every day and we loved that he was in a family environment with outdoor space. I think Sigma still misses being around their two kids who are very good with dogs as well.”
“Who was going to watch our pup fell through at the very last minute before we had to go out of town. Paul was so quick to respond and confirm caring for Peter. Another added detail is he was in recovery from an eye issue and needed extra love and care as he had medication and a cone. Once we got there, he showed the spaces that Peter was going to hang out in, made sure to fully understand any special instructions that were needed and while we were gone, took such good care of him. He would go out of his way every day to send an update with multiple photos. I never had to ask. Everything was so clean and nice and we were put at ease the whole trip knowing that he was in good hands. 100/10 would recommend, your pet will be taken such good care of!”

About: I'm a mature, loving pet and house sitter who's responsible, honest, reliable-and fun!.I have cared for puppies, kittens, dogs, cats, rabbits. Each one has a unique personality. I believe that each of these beings have little souls! And I love them all. I am a semi retired artist and photographer, so my schedule is my own. My schedule is flexible so I can accommodate most schedules easily. I treat every home and pet as if they were my own. I am neat and clean and respectful of your home. I am also a "super Host" on AirBNB
About: I always took care of dogs for family and friends while they travel. We don’t have pets of our own currently, so know that your pet will get a lot of love from us. I am currently working from home and usually just leave the house to take my son to daycare and pick him up. I can take your dog out as many times needed for walks and bathroom breaks during the day. We live in a townhouse, with no fence. So we will always need to go out on a leash. I do have a 2 year son, so your pet needs to be good and/or used with kids. We don’t own any pets so you can rest assured they won’t have any problems with that.
“Bootsie and Tom's is the only home away from home for our senior dog! He's always happy to see them and we never worry for a minute while he's there. We'd give as many stars as we could give!”

“Keziah was a happy boy when I got there! He seemingly didn't want to leave. And yet, he was exhausted the following day, and we spent the day letting him recover (by snoozing most of the day) from his adventure!”

“I can only really know how things went for my cat Teacup when she is boarded by how she behaves once she’s back home. After her 2 night stay with Natasha she seemed happy to be home, but otherwise very calm. Unlike other times when she meowed non-stop for 2 days as if she were trying to tell me all was not as it should have been. This time she hardly meowed at all. Natasha and her 2 daughters seem comfortable with both cats and dogs which of course reassures their guests that they are safe and loved. For Teacup that is everything. I think Teacup wouldn’t mind a return visit in the future. I can recommend Natasha for cat boarding.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sullivans Island
Shay did a fantastic job taking care of Ellie. This was our first time using Rover and we were a little nervous heading into it but Shay helped take those nerves away almost instantly. She was extremely responsive and sent us 4-5 daily pics of Ellie and her adventures for the day. Will definitely have Shay watch Ellie again!

Mary is absolutely amazing! She takes such great care of Winston every time he stays with her. We always know he’s in the best hands, and it’s clear how much she genuinely cares about him. Winston absolutely loves his time with Mary, and we love the peace of mind that comes with knowing he’s happy, safe, and spoiled with attention. He also loves his girlfriend Stella too.We couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Gabrielle is the best dog sitter we’ve ever had! If I could give 10 stars I would! She took Smoke on so many fun outings and sent regular pictures and updates. She is super flexible, and she’s an animal lover. Smoke didn’t want to leave her when I picked him up. We will definitely book again!

Tamara and Steven were wonderful dog sitters! They were incredibly flexible and accommodating, which made everything so easy. They kept us updated with regular messages and lots of great photos, so we always knew our pup was happy and well cared for. It gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, reliable sitters!

Katherine is amazing! We use her boarding/ pet sitting services every year on a family vacation and she is always communicative, kind, and trustworthy! We don’t leave our dog with any other sitters and we can tell he loves being with her every time we pick him up <3

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
