“Abigail and her family are amazing. My dog feels so at home and has a ball. We don’t have to feel guilty leaving him behind because he has such a great time. Wholeheartedly recommend!”

“Stephanie took such great care of my pup. Loved the videos and pictures she sent me while my dog, Coco was with her. Coco enjoyed her time with Stephanie and her pup friends. I will be using her again to dogsit!”

“David and family are always great with communication, sending frequent updates and photos. This stay, they noticed Laila wasn’t acting like her usual self. She was sleeping more and hanging her head down. Edith looked in her ears and noticed an infection. She immediately contacted me, and offered to give doggy ibuprofen (with my permission), and/or call the emergency vet (since it was Christmas). I truly appreciate how attentive they are to all my dog’s needs!”
“We love Lynn and always use her when we need someone to watch our pup. She is friendly, flexible and we know our pup is cared for and safe. Would recommend her to all.”

“Carly and her husband took incredible care of Lucy while I was away for a full week. I was honestly nervous about leaving her for that long, but they completely put my mind at ease. They treated her like their own, made sure she was comfortable, and kept her happy and well cared for the entire time. When I picked Lucy up, she was in great spirits. She was relaxed, happy, and clearly well loved. That meant everything to me. It’s such a relief to know she was in a safe, caring environment. I’m truly grateful for the attention, care, and kindness they showed her. I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable and loving pet care.”

About: I grew up with 2 dogs in the house and got my fur baby 11 years ago. I’ve been taking care of my own and helping other for over 10 years. Love being outside and letting our four legged family members get their much needed play time! Stay at home mom with a flexible schedule to help with walks/potty breaks during the day. Available most weekends to help sit and possible weekdays depending on how long of a stay is needed. I have an 11 year old Shepard mix who loves the company of another fur friend. I also have a medium size dog crate if needed.
“Sunny was well taken care of and I loved the pictures Ashley sent to me! i’m not sure if Sunny was really happy that I picked her up because she looked like she was having so much fun. I really appreciate the great environment and care provided for my pup! Thank you so much!”

“Shannon is amazing! You can tell she cares deeply and takes great care of my golden and always sends me updates, pictures etc. I feel very at ease leaving my dog with her and couldn’t recommend her enough.”
“Kathryn was amazing! Winston loved his stay- playing with her dog & family. I got daily updates of how he was doing and pictures. When I picked him up, I could tell he was happy and had a great time. He ate so much better than he usually does when staying with someone he doesn’t know & she had him on a similar schedule. Would totally recommend her and will rebook as needed!”

“Sarah was absolutely wonderful with Otis and Clemmy! She updated me every day with pictures and videos. She was very thorough when I dropped them off about going over their habits. I will definitely be booking again!!!”
“Kaylie and Johnathan were amazing! They took great care of our Franny girl and she came home happy and tired (which is hard to do!). Would absolutely recommend them and will use them again. We got pictures and updates and she had lots of play time and walks.”

About: Our family raised and cared for our 15 year old Miniature Schnauzer baby until she recently passed the rainbow bridge. We have opened our home to puppies and adult dogs since her passing and have loved spoiling all of the babies big and small, young and old! I work from home and am able to provide constant love and attention to your babies inside the home. I also am extremely flexible and can come visit your babies at the times you request in your home and spend time with them outside or out of their crate. I have a fenced back yard and a neighborhood with sidewalks where I can walk with your babies if you want them to stay with me. If you choose to keep your baby at your home I will make sure they have love, exercise and time outside of their crate.

“Highly recommend Mary Anne. Very detailed, knowledable and friendly. Great with communication and photos. Our pup Rex looks forward to future visits with Mary Anne and her two dogs!”

“True professional. Always gives updates on your pets. Extremely punctual and very attentive to the needs of your pets. I recommend this sitter and will definitely keep rebooking.”

“Rachel always takes special care of my dog. She sends updates and pictures. When my dog was injured she took special care with his bandages and kept me updated constantly. I know Scout is in good hands!”
“Jennifer is an amazing sitter. Our pup adores her and she is our first choice when we need to leave our little guy. We highly recommend your pet to her loving and efficient care. 🐶❤️”

“This was my first time using Jessica and also Blu’s first time with a petsitter. I was extremely nervous to leave him for the weekend with someone he didn’t know because Blu gets anxious really easily. However, within the first hour of dropping him off, Jessica sent me a video of Blu and her dog River, chasing each other in her fenced in backyard having a good time. Her dog River is a sweet natured dog that really helps new dogs being left in Jessica’s care, acclimate to the new environment. Within just a couple hours, she sent me a photo of Blu laying on top of her husband on the couch, which is something I haven’t seen him do with anyone except myself. Jessica was extremely responsive providing pictures throughout each day he was there without me having to ask. She’d send me an update each day before I’d even begin to think about how he was doing. I highly recommend and will definitely be using her again every time I need a sitter in the Summerville/Charleston area.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
