“Great experience. Louie enjoyed his stay and seemed happy. Julia was very nice and communicative. She sent photos and updates, which eased my mind while traveling. Highly recommend.”

“Connie was amazing with sassy she kept us informed of how sassy was settling in and she sent pictures daily. She took her own walks, gave medication if needed and sassy felt immediately safe with her. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. Had everything packed up when it was time for us to pick her up.”

“Kristin and her family did an awesome job making sure our dogs integrated well with theirs and cared for them like they were their own while we were gone for the week. Went above and beyond with communication and care for our intensive puppy. We had no worries about them whatsoever at any point. If we ever need boarding again I won’t hesitate to choose Kristin!”

“My two aussies have now stayed with Lina a few times and they are always happy when we arrive at her house. No sad good-byes as I know they will be well taken care of. I can definitely recommend Lina if you are looking for a wonderful place to leave your pups.”

“Kathy was great with my babies! She gave me updates on their stay and was flexible as my trip added time to their stay. She understood my Jack Russell’s temperament and knew how to react to his attitude!”

“Tonianne saved us! Our usual dog sitter backed out two days before our trip, and Tonianne took the job last minute. She was very flexible, and allowed the meet and drop off at our convenience. The daily updates and pictures of my dog was the cherry on top. Will continue to use Tonianne from now on.”

“Best dog sitter ever. My Daisy had a blast once she settled in. Tori gave her plenty of puppy play time and one on one human time. She even bought her a birthday cookie because we had to be out of town on her 2nd birthday🥹. She even tolerated my weirdo’s blanket chewing habit. Other Doberman owners will understand. Will definitely be using Tori again. Not sure our dog even wanted to come home. She was happy to see us but she certainly enjoyed her time there.”

“Alyssa could not have been more wonderful. She was great with Shay, came through in an emergency like a champ. We are so grateful for her, and will request her if we return to Charleston.”

“Anna took wonderful care of my pup, Ruby. She provided lots of updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Ruby was clearly happy and well cared for. I would absolutely book with Anna again!”

About: Our family raised and cared for our 15 year old Miniature Schnauzer baby until she recently passed the rainbow bridge. We have opened our home to puppies and adult dogs since her passing and have loved spoiling all of the babies big and small, young and old! I work from home and am able to provide constant love and attention to your babies inside the home. I also am extremely flexible and can come visit your babies at the times you request in your home and spend time with them outside or out of their crate. I have a fenced back yard and a neighborhood with sidewalks where I can walk with your babies if you want them to stay with me. If you choose to keep your baby at your home I will make sure they have love, exercise and time outside of their crate.
“Cassie was once again amazing. You can tell how much she loves the animals she cares for and I know my girl is always in safe hands with her. Excellent communication and she sends the best pictures and videos!!!”

“Renee was so kind and helpful for us. We were in a bind when traveling and needed to find a comfortable place for our senior dog for a few days. Renee was kind enough to accommodate our travel schedule and offered to meet us on our route - on our way to and from our destination! This was above and beyond. Our dog seemed very relaxed and comfortable when we got her back. Renee sent pictures and updates so I knew our dog was in a safe setting and well taken care of, and her communication was quick and responsive.”

“Kathy was amazing with Rupert! We received lots of photos of snuggles and yard play, and leading up to the stay she and her husband even reinforced the bases of their fences since Rupert is so small and can slip through. This was our first big trip away, and knowing he was in such great hands helped me feel confident enough to enjoy it without concerns. Such a great experience!”

“I could not be any happier with the care and love Levon got while staying with Benjamin and his wife! It gave me peace of mind and the ability to enjoy my trip knowing how much fun he was having with their dogs. I’ll definitely use their services again!”

“Jessica was great with Roo and Charlie! She sent us pictures throughout their stay and made us feel completely at ease leaving them. Both dogs seemed to get along really well with her pup, and she handled Roo’s extra puppy energy without any issue. We really appreciated the updates and would definitely feel comfortable booking with Jessica again.”

“Lizzy was great! I asked if she could watch our pup, Ash, over Thanksgiving since I would be out of town and we were without a sitter. She got back to me very quickly and we set up a meet and greet which made us feel very comfortable. We got to meet her friendly pup and check out where Ash would be staying. Right away he loved all the dog toys that she had stocked. While I was away, she was very prompt with messages and provided lots of pics of our pup which we looked forward to while we were out of town and missed him so! I would definitely book with Lizzy again and recommend you do too!”

My Lola so clearly enjoyed her time here! I received multiple videos and pictures of my dog regularly, as well as regular communications on how she was doing. My pup is very nervous, and she really enjoyed the structured and attentive environment. I will definitely be sending her to her new home away from home again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
