“John H. and his wonderful girlfriend were the best of friends to my puppy! They were so kind, flexible and accommodating and I had peace of mind my entire time away from my baby. Thank you both!”

“This was my first rover experience and it was wonderful. Yvette took my pup in for four days and he had the best time. I have never left my pup with anyone I didnt know, much less leave them at their home lol, but from the meet and greet with the love and open arms, until the pick up, the whole experience was excellent. It is definitely a passion of hers and it shows. I received constant updates and pictures of Oakley playing, being loved on, etc and for once I was actually relieved and at ease going out of town and not feeling guilty for leaving him at a kennel. Yvette (and hubby) were very warm and took such good care of Oakley and he was so happy in every picture playing with their dogs and others and enjoying the heck out of the wonderful back yard. Yvette is always very quick to respond and I would highly recommend her. I cant wait for him to go back and stay again.”

“Michelle gave me the peace of mind to be able to take a long needed vacation and know that my pup was in the best hands. There is no denying the love and attention he got over this last week, between playing with other pups, exploring the snow, and all the snuggles he got. She sent lots of photos and videos to keep me updated on the daily adventures, but most of all, I am thankful for the debriefs after his stay. Benny is already looking forward to his next getaway ♥️”

“Monica took such great care of our Zoe! She was relaxed and happy when we picked her up and Monica made it drop off and pick up super easy. It looked like Zoe had a wonderful time from all the pictures. Thank you!!”

“Rocky had a wonderful time with Sasha and Kyzua. Sasha was very communicative and sent lots of cute pictures. It was very comforting to know he was being well loved and taken care of while we were gone. Rocky is looking forward to his next stay.”

“Sheila and her fam did a great job of caring for our girl, Stella. Their dog Jersey is the sweetest as well. Stella came back tired and barely able to keep her eyes open - which is a great feat! Thanks y’all!”

“Cameron was great! He was very communicative and thoughtful. Charlotte can be hesitant around new people, but she seemed very comfortable after staying with Cameron for a long weekend. We hope to rebook in the future!”

“Daniel was awesome! I would highly recommend him. He watched my three cats in his own home while I was in between homes with a move. He took excellent care of my babies in a very stressful time for them. He was responsive and kind. He even gave my diabetic kitty his meds.”

“Fran took good care of my cat and provided timely status updates to me. I was initially nervous when she mentioned a dog in the house at the same time which was not communicated previously, but it all worked out. In the future I recommend letting the pet owner know if there will be additional pets especially since this can be a safety issue. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service.”

About: I’ve always loved animals and enjoy spending time caring for pets of all kinds. I grew up in Ohio where I was active in 4H so I was taking care of animals daily. I’m dependable, patient, and will treat your pet like they’re part of my own family. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, medication reminders, or just extra attention while you’re away, I’m happy to help. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, so I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry friend is in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! I work nightshift as a nurse 2 days a week. I have a lot of free time and enjoy being active. My dog gets walked multiple times a day. I have one golden retriever who loves other dogs! We are in a nice quiet area in an apartment. I love to go on walks to head over to the dog park!
“Bootsie and her husband are the best! So caring, sweet, supportive, and communicative. Our pup loved playing with them in their great back yard, going on walks, and being cared for around the clock. We will be using them again!!!”

“What a blessing it was for us to find Saffron. Days before our Thanksgiving vacation we were stuck without a sitter for our boy Levi. I decided to give Rover a try and found Saffron. Within a couple days we did a meet and greet and she brought Fiona and Shrek to meet Levi and they all got along wonderfully! Saffron sent plenty of pictures and videos during my 5 day trip and i didn’t feel like i was missing a thing with my pup! It’s a wrap...this is Levi’s home away from home when mommy and daddy have to travel! Saffron you’re great!”

“Rebecca was great! She sent lots of pictures and even dressed Hudson up for a cute holiday photo. She always kept in contact and I know Hudson was in great hands. Would definitely hire her again!”
“Hannah was wonderful with my two fur babies. I have a 12-year-old Maltese and a three year-old Siberian husky mix and she treated them very well. The dogs were very happy when they came back that’s my sign that they were treated very well. I will definitely call Hannah again. She is a gem.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Johns Island
Sharon and her husband Mike were the absolute best!! This was my first time leaving my puppy, Lucy, with someone, and they made it so much easier for us both! Sharon was very communicative and sent pictures and updates all weekend. Lucy and their dog Heidi had the best time playing together. They went above and beyond for Lucy, I could not recommend anyone more!!

Cayce was absolutely amazing. She sent a ton of pictures which made me feel so happy to see and know that my puppy was doing good. She texted me updates and let me know how my dog was doing with other dogs etc. I absolutely will be using Cayce again and I highly recommend her!

Marie is without a doubt, the best sitter I have had the pleasure of scheduling. Right from the beginning, she was friendly and a wonderful communicator. During my pups stay she kept me informed and sent plenty of pictures throughout. I know my pup was well cared for and cannot recommend her enough.

Melody was great to work with. She communicated in a timely manner. She sent pictures when Auberon stayed with her for doggie daycare and then again for an over night. Auberon was excited to go back the second day for his overnight visit. A dog owner is always happy when their dog is happy. Leaving Auberon with Melody gave me peace of mind. It gave me a chance to visit Charleston without worrying about him. Thank you!
Allison and her family were absolutely wonderful with Sunny. They sent me daily pictures and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away for the week. They are such a kind, caring family, and I truly felt that Sunny was loved and in the best hands the entire time. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
