About: “Robin took very good care of my crew. She sent updates and photos!” I care for CATS and DOGS. MY SERVICES INCLUDE CATS I adore cats and specialize in multi-cat households. DOGS And I love caring for small, medium or large dogs of all ages and up to 75 lbs. I provide drop-ins, walks, and of course, plenty of play time for your four-legged family members! I'm also Certified by the American Red Cross in Pet CPR and Pet First Aid! (See the certificate in my photo gallery.) DOGS & CATS I care for your pets like they’re my own. American Red Cross Pet CPR and First Aid Certified! I am available seven days a week for drop-ins or walking/play time for both dogs and kitties. I am 100% available during the day and evenings for drop-ins or walking services. DOGS & CATS DOGS DOG WALKING Includes a minimum of 30 minutes at your home with your pet, with outdoor walking time, play time (indoors or out), and feeding time all conducted within that 30-minute time frame. Additional time increments of 30 minutes can be added at the time of booking for an additional fee. DOG DROP-IN Includes a 30-minute visit with your dog at your home, including a short potty break outside of your home. It's important to book dog WALKING services if you wish to have the visit include an extended walk. Please make the distinction at the time of booking between Dog Walking and Dog Drop-In. (One includes an extended walk and the other includes a short potty break outside.) In times of extreme heat or other weather conditions (such as pending storms, etc.) it's important that I structure my appointments in such a way that I'm not spending all day every day out in three-digit heat indexes. (I thank you in advance!) Important for apartment dwellers and those with an HOA: I bring my own poop bags and dispose of the waste in approved locations within your neighborhood. I ALWAYS pick up the dog waste so no one gets hit with fees by your apt complex or an HOA. CATS Cat services include a drop-in visit with your cat(s). While there, I'll feed and check water supplies and clean feeding area as needed. The rest of the time will be spent on play time and cuddles so your cats are getting attention while you have to be away. I am American Red Cross certified in Pet CPR and First Aid and carry a pet first aid kit to all drop-in and visits.
“Jennifer has done a great job walking my pup, taking pics, and keeping me updated on his potty breaks :) She also has been very easy going as I have requester her last minute a few times. I definitely recommend!”

“Ellen was great to work with! She took great car of our puppy on her walk and communicated very well. I would 100% recommend Ellen if you’re looking for someone to walk your pet!”

About: Caring for animals has always come naturally to me. From a young age, I was the one looking after our family pets, and that love only grew over time. In 2020, I welcomed my own dog, Hoss. He quickly became my best friend and a true part of my family. Because of that bond, I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pets in someone else’s care, and I treat every dog and cat I watch with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. Hoss now has a younger brother, Dooley, an English Springer Spaniel with a sweet and easygoing personality. Together, they help create a calm, welcoming environment for visiting pets. They love to play when another dog is interested, but they are also very respectful of dogs who prefer space, rest, or a quieter visit. My husband and I own a house in West Ashley with a doggy door that leads to a big fenced in backyard that allows the dogs to romp around. Both the greenway and a park nearby are within walking distance for our walks around the neighborhood. One of the things that sets me apart is the range of care I can provide. I have hands-on experience with puppies, including the patience and consistency needed during teething, house-training, and early routines. I also have experience caring for senior dogs, including administering medication, monitoring comfort levels, and making sure they feel safe, supported, and relaxed. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or older and in need of extra attention, I tailor my care to meet their individual needs. My husband and I also foster for local rescues, including Journey Home Alliance and Lowcountry Lab Rescue. Through fostering, we have worked with dogs who have separation anxiety and need extra reassurance, structure, and patience to come out of their shell. Helping those dogs feel secure and comfortable in a temporary home has been one of the most meaningful parts of my experience, and it has strengthened my ability to care for pets with different personalities, backgrounds, and emotional needs. Our home is a friendly and flexible space for pets of different temperaments. Both Hoss and Dooley are dog-friendly and know how to read another dog’s energy—if a guest wants to play, they are happy to join in, and if a guest prefers to relax, they are equally content to give them space. They are also cat friendly, so we are comfortable caring for households with feline family members as well. Our goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, and at home while their owners are away! I'm currently working from home, so I have more flexibility during the day for drop ins, walks, and boarding. I also have availability on the weekends. Between me and my husband, someone is generally almost always home. We have a fenced in yard with two animal friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. They are used to having animals come and go in our house through fostering rescue animals. Animals are treated like family in our home and are allowed on furniture. I can also easily crate your dog if needed while I am away from the house.
About: I’ve cared for all breeds, sizes, & ages since I was a kid. I absolutely love caring for animals and understand the importance of trusting someone to care for your four-legged family members while you’re away. I work full time during the week but am able to board your pets on the weekends! I do have 2 dogs of my own (neutered male golden retriever & spayed female GSD/lab mix) who are very friendly with other dogs. I have a fenced in backyard and I live in a great neighborhood in which I can take your pet on walks. I will be able to care for your pet according to your instructions.

“Allison is fantastic! Quick to respond and we love the pictures we get from her walk with our pup. Clover loved her walk with her and we will definitely use her in the future when Clover needs a break during longer days at home.”

Caring for animals is something I’m truly passionate about, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply providing companionship, my goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I currently work full time as an ER nurse on the weekends and I’m trying to fill my time off by doing something that I’ve loved to do since I was a child. I’ll do my best to accommodate each family’s needs. I believe every pet deserves patience, kindness, and personalized care, and I’ll always treat your furry family member with the same love and respect I give my own pets.
“This was our second time using Katherine and she did another fantastic job! I felt comfortable knowing she was watching our boy and he obviously loves her! She sent great updates and photos and would definitely use her again!”

“I cannot say enough good things about Melinda. She walks my pup who has high energy and anxiety on a regular basis and does a fantastic job! You can truly see how much she cares for animals. She will consistently provide pictures and solid communication regarding walks and scheduling. I HIGHLY recommend using her.”

About: I spent several years working at a veterinary hospital and for a professional pet sitting company, so I’ve cared for just about every animal you can think of: dogs, cats, turtles, fish, goats, horses, you name it! I’m comfortable with all ages, from tiny newborns to wise seniors, and even those who require special care. I take a lot of pride in getting even the shyest, most skeptical animals to warm up to me. That’s honestly one of my favorite parts of the job! At home, I have a senior Shiba Inu, a cat, and three planted aquariums full of fish, shrimp, and snails, so animal care is truly a way of life for me. I’m available any day of the week, as early or as late as you need. Last minute requests are always welcome! I know how hard it can be to leave your babies with someone new. My goal is to make the whole experience as comfortable and stress free as possible. Pet sitting is my full-time focus right now, so my entire schedule is built around it. Early mornings, late evenings, weekends, whatever you need! I provide care in your home, so your pet stays in their own space with their own routine. I’m experienced with medications, special diets, and pets with various medical needs from my years in veterinary care.
“Amber was so easy going, she helped us out with Leo during a very last minute urgent booking!! She helped us during moments where we had very limited signal and had to add additional walking times because we were away. I can tell Leo was very happy on his walk with Amber!!”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover and proud cat + dog mom who truly treats every pet like my own. What sets me apart is my deep, hands-on experience with dogs of every life stage — from tiny puppies to wise seniors. I used to breed dogs, so I’m very comfortable with young litters, potty training, socialization, and all the playful chaos that comes with puppies. On the other end, I cared for my own dog through her golden years until she was nearly 14, so I know how to give seniors the gentle care, extra patience, and comfort they deserve. Whether it’s a bouncy puppy who needs structure, a senior who just wants soft bedding and slow walks, or a cat who prefers calm companionship and playtime on their terms, I bring patience, consistency, and genuine affection. I’m based in Charleston and love exploring local spots for safe, enriching walks and adventures. Most importantly, your pets will feel safe, loved, and well-cared for — because to me, they’re family too. I am currently working but I have off every Wednesday and a few Monday and Fridays. I would love to do this full time eventually. I will make sure to follow your specific instructions for your individual pet needs. Every dog and/or cat will be treated like my own.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Johns Island
Megan was so great when she walked our two goldendoodles! She was punctual, so friendly, and went above and beyond for their walk. I really appreciated getting photo updates and hearing how they did! I will definitely book her again whenever we need a dog walker or sitter!

Amber was absolutely wonderful with my dog! He always wants to go on walks but can’t always make it the whole way around the block. Amber noticed when he needed a break and lovingly picked him up and carried him until he was ready to walk again. She was so gentle and attentive. She truly went above and beyond. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and thoughtful walker!
I can’t recommend Emily enough! Her communication is excellent! She always keeps me updated and responds promptly. On top of that, she’s very prompt and reliable, which gives me total peace of mind. My pup Lawrence absolutely adores her, and I feel lucky to have found such a trustworthy and kind dog walker.

I recently moved across the country and began a demanding role that requires on-site work--a lot of changes for me, but even more for my beloved dog, Lilly. As soon as I connected with Skyler, I knew we'd met our match! She is an absolute gem and gives Lilly the affection and attention she craves while helping her enjoy some fresh air and exercise. Skyler is a reliable communicator and cares about Lilly, and Lilly is head-over-heels about her, which makes me so happy to see. I am so glad we found Skyler, and I'd highly recommend her!

Arthur is truly a one in a million find! He’s one of those people that truly, deeply, cares for dogs as if they’re not only his pet, but his literal children. He loves and adores them so much! We have a small corgi mix and a large pointer mix, both with their own quirks and daily needs such as medication and food additions. Our large boy Wizy has some PTSD and reactiveness that has made it incredibly difficult for us to find a sitter confident enough to handle his size and quick motions when the moments arise. The moment Arthur walked through the door I saw Wizy’s whole body relax, he truly transmuted his energy and created calm right away in the space with him! It’s not something we see often with him. We’ve now done several walks and a weekend away with the doggies sleeping at Arthur’s, and it’s been a dream, truly. I have trust issues bad and he has put all my worries to rest with incredible communication, photos, and just being the person he is! We’re so lucky to have found Arthur and can’t wait to continue to have him part of our little family. He’s dedicated, punctual, trustworthy, and best of all has a heart of gold! Thanks for caring so much for Sitka and Wizy, they love you!

Carly walked my dog for 3 days over the holiday weekend. She was professional and punctual. She was very attentive to my dog’s needs and health conditions including putting his thundershirt on him when we expected a storm. She is also very knowledgeable about commands and handling reactive dogs. I would hire Carly again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
