“Katherine did an excellent job. She was very communicative, followed all instructions perfectly, and made sure the cats' area was always nice and tidy. Would highly recommend!”

“I appreciated her visit summaries and attention to detail! She would observe the cats moods and adjust accordingly- sometimes bringing Charlotte's supplement to her under the bed or getting a good play session in with Blanche. I know Blanche loved having another human that would play her favorite game of throw kibble and understood her button requests!”

“WOW! I will be reaching out to Anna any time I need someone to let out my sweet girl. She sent so many pictures of play time and gave me a thorough message about her visit.”

“Taylor took excellent care of my two senior boys! She was on time, dependable, and gave them good company during her drop-ins. Would be extremely happy to use her again in the future for Henry and Flynn!”

I take my cats very seriously, if there is any sign of anything I’m immediately take them to the vet, I feed them twice a day with a mixture of wet and dry food and some probiotics! And I play with them for at least an hour a day!
About: I’ve lived my whole life with pets! I grew up with two cats and two dogs. Since I’ve been away at college I’ve dog sat for other friends and family! I just moved to the area! My schedule is very flexible, I have the time to care for your furry friends! I’m fully open during the week and weekends. I am a very attentive person and caring of details of how the pet needs to be cared for. Quality time with pets is my favorite part of caring for them!
“Miranda was amazing with our cats. Our oldest is shy around people and when he first met her he came right up to her. She gave amazing updates on our pets I would definitely recommend and rebook her”

“Teresa was amazing. She was so sweet to our Wrigley and gave him lots of love and attention. She sent several pictures and updates throughout the weekend and it was comforting to see how he was doing. Her communication was great. We will definitely be booking her again!!”

About: I have lived with and loved dogs since I was born. I have best fur friends of my own. Sari and Basil. Both are comfortable around others; we are all excited to be around other pups of all sizes. I have an extremely flexible schedule and a welcome home. I live in a house in West Ashley that offers plenty of space as well as a huge fenced in yard, a park nearby which we will visit and plenty of walk ability. My son Lukas, 19, is also excited to be around more dogs and will love them as his own, as well. We can't wait to meet you all!! I work home home so your pup will never be Alone. I am available for dog walks, drop ins, boarding and over night stays. Looking forward to Meeting you! I have a fenced in yard for running and playing. I can be available for potty breaks, feeding and medication administration. Please let me know if you have any preferences
“Lacy & Carson took such great care of my pups! They send plenty of pics, which I love. They go above and beyond and I know my pups are always excited when they stop by!”

About: Hi I’m Shelbe! I’m available to take the dog on walks during the day and house sit anytime. I have had dogs all my life and absolutely love them :) I work from home so it’s easy for me to walk the dog throughout the day! I enjoy long walks and would love to help you out when you’re dog needs potty breaks! I have a friendly golden retriever who loves other dogs and I’m comfortable taking care of your dog in your home. I usually notice dogs are a lot more comfortable in the space they are used to.

“Kenzie is super communicative, flexible with hours, amazing sitter, and got the best pics of my cat while I was away! I appreciate her kindness and going above and beyond for my picky cat!”

About: Hi! I’m an animal lover! I’ve had dogs, cats, and even some farm animals. I’ve had my oldest son, Tut, for 6 years now and my youngest daughter, Nunu, for almost 2 years. They are absolutely spoiled. If I was to care for your baby, they’d get all the play time, belly rubs, and walks they could handle. For drop ins and walks, I’ll love and adore any pet I get the pleasure of looking after. If you’re a busy bee, let me help with your fur babies! I’m currently working full-time during the week but I can do morning and evening drop-in’s/walks during the week. My weekends are pretty open and I am usually in Charleston during my free time. I have two cats of my own so I am use to full time care for both. I’ve cared for all ages of cats and dogs so I am pretty well equipped to handle all ages. My previous baby, Royal, took medication everyday so I am use to administering oral medication and keeping a medication schedule. My goal is to keep you and your babies happy. Just let me know what they need and I’ll make it happen.

“We love hiring Jenny for our petting sitting needs!! Another great stay. Thank you for taking care of our animals while we are out of town. I never have to worry that they are well looked after.”

“Amy did a great job taking care of our extremely shy cat while we were away, even coaxing her out of her hiding spots for treats/petting. We received updates from Amy daily and notes about how our cat was doing, and felt very comfortable that she was in good hands.”

“Madelyn was very punctual for every visit. She weathered the gnarly storm to check up on my sweet Buddy. She also kept me updated on the storm and if it was affecting the area to assure me Buddy was safe. She is very kind and was attentive to mine and my cat’s needs. Thank you Madelyn for an outstanding job! Will definitely book in the future!”

Elizabeth did such an amazing job taking care of my two cats! She went the extra mile sending me pictures and updates! my cats were so happy/content when I came back, they had such a great weekend! Elizabeth is so easy to communicate with and very friendly/reliable. Cannot wait to have her back 🧡

Erin was FABULOUS with our cat Gizmo! I was so worried about leaving him for eight days because he is very attached to me. Erin reassured me before I left that she would take good care of him and she did just that. She fed him, played with him and loved on him as if he were her own pet. I was able to enjoy MY vacation knowing ‘my baby’ was happy. She also did all of this on a very short notice for us. We could not be more pleased with her help.

Thank you Lenya for watching Smudge, once again. You made me feel at ease, knowing that you were familiar with my situation as well as taking care of Smudge in the past. I hope to be able to rely on you in the future for your excellent care of Smudge. Thanks again

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Johns Island. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
