I’m very cautious with animals, and making sure they don’t escape, run away, etc. I treat all animals as if they were my own pet. I’m a big believer in respecting all cats boundaries, and also being aware of how sneaky they are to try to get out. For every new client, I require a free meet and greet and familiarize the cat with myself and go over care instructions. Also, I prefer to have bookings where the cat(s) is/are checked on at least once a day, if not being checked on by anyone else. This is to the benefit of the cat to ease stress (which can cause urinary issues) and make them happier. I will not accept the following bookings for cats: every other day for multi-cat households where the litter is not self cleaning (especially in multi cat households urine and feces can pile up when not cleaned daily and become very difficult when I clean it) & every third day check-ins for single or multi cat households when I am the only one checking in on them. Cats are usually very lonely and can become stressed when their owners leave them—this is why I have these guidelines!

A typical day
Depending on the cat’s comfort with other humans and their energy levels, I try to make sure I can see them at least once per visit to know they’re okay. I will play with and pet the cat as much as they allow me.

Cat care experience
I have been specializing in cat care on Rover for about a year. Before this, I’ve taken care of cats for years, from my dad’s cats while he traveled for work, to my friends’ cats and my mom’s cat. I’m a pro when it comes to keeping a clean litter box and keeping a cat entertained.

Alyssa took such great care of my cats! I appreciated the detailed updates from her visits and her keeping an eye on Charlotte's bathroom habits. She has won over my sassy, energetic cat that requires extra play and my sweet, shy cat that has to take a regular supplement. I can relax when I'm away knowing Alyssa is caring for my cats!
We've had Alyssa take care of our 2 cats more than once and she does such a great job! She's thorough with all the chores (scooping boxes, feeding, etc) and also takes time to play and interact with them. We come home to a neat, tidy apartment and happy cats!
I am so grateful we found Alyssa to take care of our cats while we were on vacation! Her daily updates were great to keep us in the loop with how they were doing. I did not expect our shyest kitty to interact much but Alyssa quickly gained her trust and she was out playing in just a short period of time. In general Alyssa exceeded expectations in multiple aspects and we will definitely rebook with her the next time we are out of town!
Alyssa was amazing! Not only did she do the basics (feeding, cleaning up, trust worthy and dependable) but she was also affectionate and played with our very playful kittens. They both absolutely loved her! The pictures were great and we could tell they had been well cared for when we got home. Absolutely recommend and will request her again in the future.
