“They did a great job taking care of our lab Tucker. Booking and communication were very smooth. Made Tucker feel right at home and kept me updated throughout my trip. Would recommend!”

“I love Safron and her two furry friends! She is awesome, and really cares about your fur baby! This was my first time leaving my dog for a weekend, and I was a bundle of nerves. She instantly calmed my nerves and gave me updates all the time on how my dog was doing. She is also extremely knowledgeable about animals, which makes you feel that you can trust her watching your fur baby! I cannot recommend Safron enough!”
“Delia was outstanding. We had a last minute booking and she was kind enough to be flexible with us. Leonidas absolutely adored his time with her too. Highly recommend her💕”

“Leo, an older, a little nervous, terrier was welcomed by Marina and both her dogs immediately. Lots of pictures were sent showing Leo doing all the things he loves to do. I'm very happy to have found her and fully plan on taking Leo on another vacation to Marina's. Thank you!”

About: I work from home, but travel too much to have a pet of my own right now, so I’d love to spend my workdays keeping yours company instead! I grew up with dogs and have volunteered and worked at animal shelters in Texas for several years. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, as well as fostering litters of kittens and adult cats. I’d love to care for your pets and will give them lots of love and attention...and send LOTS of pictures! 🐾📸 I work fully remote M-F, which gives me plenty of flexibility to make sure your pet gets the attention and care they need! I do my best to keep their routine as close to normal as possible. I pride myself on being reliable, responsible, and a great communicator. I want you to have complete peace of mind knowing your pet is safe and comfortable while you’re away. For dogs safety specifically, your dog will always be kept on a leash when outside the home, and I will never introduce your dog to another dog while we’re out on walks. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions or routines.
“Chris & Molly took great care of my dog Winston. They kept me updated and made sure to follow all the instructions. Winston came back home relaxed and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.”

“We are so thrilled with the care our pups received while in Kristi’s care!! This was a long stay and we knew they were safe and well taken care of. We will be using her every time for the pups!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Lauren! My dog & cat absolutely loved her and when we came home, they were even happier than before we left. That wasn't the case when we had boarded them in a kennel on our last trip. We highly recommend her. An easy process too! ????”
About: Our family raised and cared for our 15 year old Miniature Schnauzer baby until she recently passed the rainbow bridge. We have opened our home to puppies and adult dogs since her passing and have loved spoiling all of the babies big and small, young and old! I work from home and am able to provide constant love and attention to your babies inside the home. I also am extremely flexible and can come visit your babies at the times you request in your home and spend time with them outside or out of their crate. I have a fenced back yard and a neighborhood with sidewalks where I can walk with your babies if you want them to stay with me. If you choose to keep your baby at your home I will make sure they have love, exercise and time outside of their crate.
“Our fur babies had a wonderful time while we were away. Sarah provided updates with pictures and videos of how they were doing. Even her dog and ours became best friends while they were there. Definitely use her services again.”

“Could not have asked for a better sitter! Morgan and Matthew treated Norman like he was their own and spoiled him with so much love and attention. They even had a pup cup ready for him when I dropped him off. It was obvious from the updates and photos that he was feeling right at home. I think he was genuinely sad to leave when I picked him up 😂 I would 100% recommend - they’re the kind of people you hope to find on Rover!”

“Very glad to have found Jonathan and Carla to watch Evie for me! She started playing with their cute little pup when I dropped her off and I got updates with pictures of her while I was away! Evie definitely enjoyed her stay with them and was so happy while she was with them and when I picked her up! I would definitely recommend using them and will use them again!”

“Fallon and RJ were great! They were very responsive and sent pictures of my pup to keep me updated and even did a meet and greet before to see how our pups would get along in their space! Evie loved her time with them and came home and slept all day when I got back from my trip!”

“I am so thankful for the wonderful care provided while I was away ❤️ Kathryn & Hovey were super accommodating and made diesel comfy and cared for. I really appreciated the updates & pics too - thanks so much! We will definitely be reaching out for care in the future.”

About: I’m a registered nurse with a lifelong love for dogs, which means safety, reliability, and attention to detail are always my top priorities. I had my own dog for 14 years, so I have extensive experience caring for senior dogs, including administering medications, recognizing changes in behavior or health, and providing extra patience and comfort. Having moved here from Philly, I truly miss having a dog of my own, so I treat every pet I care for like family. I’m calm, observant, and dependable, and I’m especially comfortable with routines, special instructions, and pets who need a little extra care or reassurance. Whether it’s walks, overnight stays, or drop-ins, your dog will be safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine. As a nurse, I work three 12-hour shifts per week, which gives me several full days off where I’m completely available for walks, drop-ins, and overnight care.I plan my schedule carefully and only accept bookings I can fully commit to, so your pet will always get consistent attention, exercise, and care. I’m happy to work around your dog’s routine and communicate clearly so you always know your pet is in good hands. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets, whether in my home or yours. As a nurse, I’m highly attentive, detail-oriented, and trained to notice subtle changes in behavior, appetite, or energy levels. I carefully follow all routines and instructions provided, including feeding schedules, medications, leash preferences, and house rules. In a client’s home, I respect your space and keep your pet’s environment clean, calm, and familiar. In my home, pets are supervised, never left unattended for long periods, and kept in a secure, comfortable setting. I use leashes at all times outdoors unless otherwise instructed and avoid dog parks unless explicitly approved. I prioritize clear communication and will provide regular updates, photos, and messages so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness always come first.
“Janine was absolutely wonderful. She is beyond knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind, and caring. She genuinely loves dogs and gives the most amazing advice and guidance for a novice puppy owner like me. Having never had anyone take care of my sweet puppy I was extremely nervous to leave her with a total stranger but Janine immediately put me at ease. I’m not sure it would be possible to find anyone else as good as she is to care for your dog.”

“Our pup had a great time running with the pack at Richard's house. He also did a great job keeping us updated on our pups day and provided daily pictures. Highly recommend!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
