“We were traveling through the area and had a 1/2 day trip that our pup could not come on with us. Luceny responded quickly to my inquiry and we are so glad she did. She loved on my pup and sent us plenty of pictures while we were gone. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter in the area!”

“Delia and her husband are great! They have become family to Lucy dog and I. They take care of Lucy at a moments notice. If I could give her 10 🌟 I would.”

About: I love dogs, cats, horses, birds… all animals really! I grew up with a lot of animals and enjoyed spending time with them. I helped take care of litters of puppies and kittens when I was little. I also helped with large breed dogs, cats, birds, and fish. We always had a dog at home that I fed, bathed, and walked. As I got older, I cared for family and friends' animals, while they were away, before becoming a professional Pet Sitter. I personally have owned dogs, cats, rabbits, and a ferret. i have experience with many different breeds and sizes of dogs and cats, as well as with horses, rabbits, chickens, parrots, parakeet, guinea pigs, mice, and baby ferrets. I love them all! I have always had a huge heart and special bond with dogs. I still get excited and have to say "hi" to new furry faces everywhere I go. It makes my day just seeing their happy smiles and wagging tails. One of my jobs back in the day required me to go inside people’s homes to assess for taxes and I would always hear people tell me their dogs were not this friendly with anyone else or not that playful.. they would follow me around, bring me toys, and seemed to crave my attention while I was there. I think they love me as much as I love them! I always look forward to my time with my furry friends. I treat your dog like part of the family. We have love, snuggles, playtime, and of course I talk to them like they are people. 😊 When I wake up, i say good morning, give them love and make sure they get right out for potty and then again after breakfast. I take them out at lunch time and get some exercise walking and/or playing in the yard so they can run around. If it’s hot, i try to get most of the playtime in the morning or at night. I have little chats with them and tell them how pretty, fun, and smart they are all through the day. I love to play, brush them, massage them, and sometimes just lay on the floor with them and pet them. The kids also love to play and cuddle with our furry friends so they get extra attention every day. We love dogs and are looking forward to sharing our days and nights with your fur baby. I enjoy time with animals! I love playing, walking, brushing, belly rubs, and sharing smiles! Dogs who stay here can run around freely in the fenced yard and play catch, fetch, or play “name that smell” on our walks. I will send pictures and update you on how they’re doing throughout the stay and of course, I will give lots of love at my home, or yours. 😊
About: Have always had a dog. Have fostered many puppies. My own dog was a shop dog and very well behaved. She is the perfect companion for any dog and would help them enjoy their stay. I am recently retired and have the time and energy to care for your dog along with my own. I am mostly home except for when I play tennis or go to the store. I live in a very dog friendly condo, pet stations, dog wash, etc... there is a green lawn area next to my building, as well as walking trails. Also live near Laurel Hill trails which is great place to walk dogs.
“Maggie & Dakota? were great!! Super flexible and made the whole process easy. My pup was happy & tired after spending the day with them. Thanks so much! We’ll be seeing you again if we’re in the area again.”
“Cannot say enough good things! Leigh Ann was so prompt with responding and helped me out with dog-sitting when I was in a bind. Her and her family are so sweet and took such great care of my fur baby- I know she had so much fun based on how pooped out she is now! Would 100% recommend and use again!”

About: I have always had a deep love for dogs and truly enjoy spending time caring for them. Their happiness, comfort, and well-being are very important to me, and I treat every dog with patience, kindness, and attention. I understand that each dog has its own personality and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while away from their owners. I have hands-on experience caring for dogs through my own pets and by helping family and friends with theirs. My experience includes feeding, walking, exercising, administering basic care, maintaining routines, and providing plenty of affection and companionship. I am comfortable working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments, and I always prioritize their safety and well-being. As a dog boarding caregiver, I would provide a reliable, loving, and nurturing environment where dogs can feel at home. I understand how important it is for pet owners to trust the person caring for their furry family members, and I am committed to providing attentive care, regular exercise, and lots of positive interaction. My goal is to ensure every dog feels happy, secure, and well cared for throughout their stay. I’m currently working from home and I’m available to adjust to your dog’s needs and schedule. I’m available anytime or day as needed. I have a fenced backyard, a very safe community and easy place to walk your dog. We’re a family of four that loves dogs and I would make sure your dog feels like home.
“We were visiting the area and needed a dog sitter on a last minute notice. Crystal was extremely responsive & easy to communicate with. More importantly, Crystal & her family were great with our fur baby!!! She played & even snuggled on the couch with them for movie night!! We will definitely use her again if in the area!!”

“Megan was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely responsive and professional. She cared for Lucy so attentively and caring and sent photos, videos and updates throughout the day.”

“Here’s a polished review you can use: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Dog Sitter! I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received. From the very beginning, she was professional, reliable, and genuinely caring. My dog was comfortable, happy, and well cared for while we were at dinner, which gave me complete peace of mind. I appreciated the regular updates, photos, and communication throughout the stay. It was clear that my dog received plenty of attention and affection. I returned home to a relaxed and happy dog. I highly recommend Carla to anyone looking for trustworthy, loving care for their furry family member. I will definitely book with her again! 🐾💙”

About: Hi there! I’ve been around dogs my whole life and can’t remember a time I didn’t have one by my side. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog’s little quirks and routines. From tiny lap dogs to big gentle giants, I love them all. Your pup will get plenty of attention, love, and communication from me so you always know they’re doing great. I’d love to meet your furry family member! I’m home all day, every day, so your pet will get constant attention and supervision. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine—whether it’s playtime, cuddles, or sticking to your pup’s feeding schedule. Since I’m always around, I’m able to give your dog plenty of love, consistency, and a calm, reliable environment while you’re away. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We have a fully fenced-in backyard where pups can play, explore, and get fresh air safely. Inside our home, pets are always supervised and treated like part of the family. I can easily follow your dog’s routine, use a crate if preferred, and provide a calm, clean, pet-friendly environment. Whether your fur baby loves snuggles, quiet time, or playtime, I make sure they feel secure and cared for every moment they’re with me.
About: I have a friendly, easy going labradoodle (not high energy) who would love to have a friend around. The yard is fenced in, I work from home, and we typically go on 3-4 walks a day. On a good weather day we’ll drive 5 minutes to IOP and have a beach walk. Your dog would get the exact same care I give mine. They can play all day inside and sleep where they want. Work from home Monday through Friday 9-5 but take plenty of breaks to go outside for walks or play fetch. At night I’m mostly chilling so hopefully your dog likes Netflix! I have a fenced in yard big enough for them to exhaust themselves if they want. If not, the daily walks should cover that. And I’m open to crating them at night or letting them sleep on the couch/bed if they’re comfortable.

“Gaelle is so sweet and patient with our puppy! So trustworthy and we are very grateful for all she does! Thank you for everything Gaelle! Not only do you provide our puppy a safe place to stay and play but you also give us the peace of mind that he is in great hands while we are at work! Sincerely, Steve Isabel & Thor”

“Natasha was great! We had never used the Rover app or a stranger to sit our dog but there were things we were wanting to do while on vacation that we couldn’t include our dog in. Natasha was patient and kind while I figured out the app and got our plans all sorted out and our dog seemed to like her just fine! She went right in the house with her both days we used her and seemed happy as could be when we picked her up! She was a lifesaver and really helped us be able to enjoy our vacation a lot more!!”

“Jenny is the best sitter we could have imagined. She's very experienced and professional, but still very warm so our very private (some would say 'shy', we say 'selective') Irish Wolfhound puppy was comfortable with her. It was obvious from the photos and the way she behaved when she got home that Aoife had a great time and wasn't stressed from her visit. We hope very much to engage Jenny again to watch our beloved pup!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
