“Morgan took great care of my mini dachshund last minute for me! He has some separation anxiety and went from crying a bit as I left him to not wanting to come home yet when I came back :) He clearly enjoyed Morgan and his new buddy Mav!”

“Here’s a polished review you can use: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Dog Sitter! I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received. From the very beginning, she was professional, reliable, and genuinely caring. My dog was comfortable, happy, and well cared for while we were at dinner, which gave me complete peace of mind. I appreciated the regular updates, photos, and communication throughout the stay. It was clear that my dog received plenty of attention and affection. I returned home to a relaxed and happy dog. I highly recommend Carla to anyone looking for trustworthy, loving care for their furry family member. I will definitely book with her again! 🐾💙”

About: We love all dogs and especially having a friend for Sophie, our 3 year old yellow lab. During the day, we work from home so the house is calm and quiet and our goal is to make your dog feel at home and loved. We have a big fenced backyard and enjoy taking walks in our neighborhood. We love taking care of all gentle breeds that like kids and other dogs. During the week, we work from home, so we have the flexibility and time to care for Sophie and your dog. We spend lots of time on our porch together and in the backyard. We have a large and safe fenced in yard and a screened in porch. I also put down a blanket on the couch for cuddles and naps!
“Jessica was great! She took on our Rosie last minute and gave her lots of love and attention. She also sent us photos and video updates throughout the day. We knew she would love her when she accepted treats from her right when she met Jessica. She never does that.”

About: Hi! I'm Rachel, a recent College of Charleston graduate with a B.A. in psychology. I have spent the last 16 years raising and caring for dogs. Animals have always been a significant part of my life, as my family dog even helped me take my first steps. I started dog sitting in my neighborhood when I was 10 years old and haven't stopped since. One neighbor invited me over every Tuesday to meet her new foster puppy of the week, which is how I adopted my first puppy, Rocky. During my senior year of high school, I got my second dog, Sadie, who has taught me as much as I have taught her. My experience extends beyond my pets, as friends and family come to me for help with training their new puppies and to take care of their pets while they are away. Whether you have a playful puppy or a sweet senior, I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages. If you're looking for a sitter who truly understands dogs and will love your pet as if they were my own, I’d love to help! I am currently looking for job opportunities so my schedule is wide open. Let me know what works best for you and your pet, and I will be happy to accommodate your needs. I live in a two-bedroom condo with my 9y/o dog Sadie, who loves having new friends around. I also have a neighborhood dog park just a short walk away, where I take her to run around and get her energy out. We also have lots of great walking paths and parks around us to explore. Whether your dog stays with me or I care for them in your home, I can follow your routines and will prioritize their safety and comfort above all else.
“Tamara and Steven were wonderful with Lucy and took such great care of here!! They kept us updated on how she was doing and treated her like their own, would love to book again with them in the future.”

About: After 15 years of pet ownership, I’ve handled everything from high-energy puppyhood to the gentle requirements of senior care. I treat every pet I sit exactly like my own: as a cherished member of the family. You can head out on your trip knowing your pet is receiving 15 years' worth of experience, love, and one-on-one attention. I can't wait to meet your furry friend! With a background in hospitality and a career as a fitness and surf instructor, I offer a high-energy, reliable, and incredibly flexible schedule for your pet. My active lifestyle means I’m always up for long walks or playtime, ensuring your furry friend gets the exercise and attention they need. Whether it's a mid-day check-in or an afternoon adventure, my unique routine allows me to be there whenever you need a hand! I offer all services! Would love to host your pup at our place. We just have 1 small dog named Annie (she is sweet) 🐶
“Paul was incredible and we’ll be definitely using him again, the very next time we need a dog sitter needs in CHS. He was very accommodating, took my doodle on the best walks, and hosted him so well with treats! I can immediately tell if my dog feels comfortable and knew he did without question with Paul! Can’t thank him enough for the positive experience 🥰”

About: Hi! I am a bit newer to Rover, but I’m a dependable, trustworthy animal lover with years of experience caring for dogs and cats. I grew up on a farm where I helped care for 7 dogs, 2 cats, goats, and chickens, so caring for animals has always been second nature to me. I also have my own English Setter, Maggie, whom I’ve raised since she was 8 weeks old. She’s now a year and a half old, so I’m very comfortable with high-energy dogs and understand how important it is to keep pets on their normal routine. Whether you’re looking for drop-in visits, dog walks, or boarding, I’ll treat your pet like one of my own. I’ll make sure they get plenty of love, attention, exercise, and I’ll send photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. For boarding, I have a fenced backyard, and Maggie is very friendly and loves meeting other dogs. I’d love the opportunity to care for your furry family member! I work from home on the weekdays I’m available, so your pet will get plenty of potty breaks, playtime, attention, and care throughout the day. I have a flexible schedule and can easily accommodate their routine. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, I’ll follow their routine and any specific instructions to make them feel safe and comfortable. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, administering oral medications if needed, and providing lots of love and attention. I also send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my happy and positive attitude: no one wants a grumpy, pessimistic pet sitter. I am adaptable as I am always prepared for unplanned events and last-minute changes. As I am a caretaker by nature, I show genuine concern for the well-being of pets. I am responsible and trustworthy by being reliable and honest. I have a wealth of pet sitting experience. I also have experience working with pets that have medical issues or behavioral challenges. And lastly, I am sensitive and understanding. I understand the needs and concerns of pet owners. I have plenty of time to play and care for your dog/dogs, as I work from home! Plus, I spent all holidays here at my lovely residence on Daniel Island. I treat all dogs that I care for as I treat my own fur baby, as if they were my children. I ensure that they are walked, fed, entertained, given medication as needed, and have restful sleep each evening (whether it is with me in bed, in their pet bed, or in their crate) every day. People have a tendency of saying that my dog Maggie is always smiling! I will ensure that yours will too when in my care!!
About: Hello! My name is Christie and I'm a trusted pet sitter who has been caring for family and friend's pets for 18 years, providing a safe and caring environment. I adhere to their regular feeding, walking, and medication schedule to ensure consistency while you're away. I'm skilled at administering diabetes shots to dogs and cats. I have experience caring for elderly and special needs dogs as well. Your pets will receive all the cuddles and playtime under my care. I take my dog on daily beach walks, but will confirm your dogs preferences before bringing them along. I'm open to long-term pet sitting and have been hired for out-of-state pet care. I have a 5-year-old, 15lb dog Stanley who accompanies me on all sitting adventures. He loves other dogs and spends his day mostly being a lounge lizard, loves his toys and daily walks. I work from home Monday through Friday so your pet will get a lot of attention and outside time while under my care. I take out pets every 2-4 hours for potty breaks and fresh air. I want your pet's schedule to continue 'as is' while you're away. I treat your home as if it were my own and respect your space and privacy while providing your pet with care and love.
“As soon as we pull up Blanco goes crazy for her. This is one of the many best matches we have had. She communicates so well . They go on adventures through out the day and I love that for Blanco . Adeliz is awesome ❤️”

“Molly gives Buck a safe and fun place to stay while I am working. He loves Leonard, her dog, and I am grateful to Molly for taking such great care of Buck. Every evening when I pick him up, he’s so tired from playing all day. Molly is a gem.”

About: I have a friendly, easy going labradoodle (not high energy) who would love to have a friend around. The yard is fenced in, I work from home, and we typically go on 3-4 walks a day. On a good weather day we’ll drive 5 minutes to IOP and have a beach walk. Your dog would get the exact same care I give mine. They can play all day inside and sleep where they want. Work from home Monday through Friday 9-5 but take plenty of breaks to go outside for walks or play fetch. At night I’m mostly chilling so hopefully your dog likes Netflix! I have a fenced in yard big enough for them to exhaust themselves if they want. If not, the daily walks should cover that. And I’m open to crating them at night or letting them sleep on the couch/bed if they’re comfortable.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind from big Goldens to little Yorkies. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on my pet sitting services for 25 years. My husband and I both work from home so we have lots of time to dedicate to your pup! We live across the street from a large park and within walking distance from a beautiful walking trail to take your pup on daily walks. We have a very sweet black lab mix to keep your pup company. Every day we do three walks with lots of time for play at home in between. I’ll also make sure to take lots of pictures to keep you updated on your dog.

“Natasha was great! We had never used the Rover app or a stranger to sit our dog but there were things we were wanting to do while on vacation that we couldn’t include our dog in. Natasha was patient and kind while I figured out the app and got our plans all sorted out and our dog seemed to like her just fine! She went right in the house with her both days we used her and seemed happy as could be when we picked her up! She was a lifesaver and really helped us be able to enjoy our vacation a lot more!!”

About: I am a reliable and passionate animal lover who has had pets my whole life. Came to Charleston to run the Bridge run and all the roads close at 6am...Victoria was willing to take my dog at 530 so I could get back to hotel before the roads close and run the race. I couldnt leave my dog in the hotel alone. I would not have been able to do it without her help and my dog loved her and so relaxed and happy when I picked her up. Victoria was great !

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Mount Pleasant commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
