About: Hi! I'm Rachel, a recent College of Charleston graduate with a B.A. in psychology. I have spent the last 16 years raising and caring for dogs. Animals have always been a significant part of my life, as my family dog even helped me take my first steps. I started dog sitting in my neighborhood when I was 10 years old and haven't stopped since. One neighbor invited me over every Tuesday to meet her new foster puppy of the week, which is how I adopted my first puppy, Rocky. During my senior year of high school, I got my second dog, Sadie, who has taught me as much as I have taught her. About: I have owned and taken care of dogs my entire life! I am very attentive and compassionate when it comes to dogs’ individual needs, and I treat all dogs as if they are my own. I work remotely and have a very flexible day-to-day schedule. I can always make time for pets throughout the day and will be consistently providing care to them while they are under my watch. I have a small yard in the back of my house that is fenced in, and I will be taking pets for walks as needed. I allow pets to have free range in my house unless the owner has other instructions.

Your pet will be with me the entire time. If I go to the store or go on a walk, your baby will be in great company. You won't have a worry in the world while you are away. I may run out for an hour or so to pick up my mail and be sure that all is well at my home and studio and that lights are turned on or off. I have a questionaire so that I know your and your pet's routines and habits as well as contacts for family, friends and the vet. I do not accept certain breeds and your pets must have all their vacinations, be free of fleas and ticks and also be clean. I really appreciated Dakota taking my last minute request for care for my very large dog Freya. She was not intimidated by her size and welcomed her into her apartment with her own cat and dog. Freya was very willing to go with her the following day which is the highest compliment, as she does not like leaving me and jumped right into Dakota's car. As you may expect there was a bit of last minute shuffling of schedules to make it work but Dakota made herself available to pick up and drop off Freya to make it easier for all. All and all it was a good experience for all and I'd happily use Dakota for care in the future....
