About: Hi! I’m Rachel, a lifelong dog lover who hasn’t gone a single day without a dog by my side. Over the last 16 years, I’ve cherished every moment of raising my own dogs and sharing that same love and care with every animal I meet. My pets have helped shape who I am, and my childhood dog even helped me take my first steps. I started dog sitting in my neighborhood when I was 10 years old and haven’t stopped since. One neighbor invited me over every Tuesday to meet her new foster puppy of the week, which is how I found my first puppy, Rocky. And since having one dog wasn’t enough, I adopted Sadie during my senior year of high school. Over the years, friends and family have come to me for help with training their new puppies and caring for their pets while they’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages and love getting to know each dog’s unique personality. After losing Rocky in March and graduating from the College of Charleston in May with a B.A. in psychology, I joined Rover so Sadie and I could spend more time with other dogs and make new friends along the way. I’m currently doing Rover full-time while I look for the right career opportunity, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to spend with the dogs in my care. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dogs and will love your dog as if they were my own, I’d love to help! I’m currently doing Rover full-time, so my schedule is very flexible. Let me know what works best for you and your pet, and I’m happy to accommodate your schedule whenever possible. I live in a two-bedroom condo with my 9-year-old dog Sadie, who loves making new friends. I also have a neighborhood dog park just a short walk away, where I take her to run around and get her energy out. We also have lots of great walking paths and parks around us to explore. Whether your dog stays with me or I care for them in your home, I will keep them in a comfortable routine while prioritizing their needs and safety.

“Christina took great care of our two boys. We received multiple pictures of their stay. She even used our ThunderShirt during a thunderstorm with Cash. We would love to use her more often if we were local. She will be our go-to sitter when we are in town.”

“Fitz enjoyed his time with Gabriela! She took wonderful care of him on short notice. She was great with sending updates and getting him some good exercise and plenty of pets!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes since I was 10. Growing up in the Philippines, I regularly helped take care of my neighbors’ pets, as well as pets belonging to friends and family. I’ve helped with walking, feeding, bathing, and giving pets lots of love and attention. I’m dependable, patient, and treat every pet like family. 🐾💕 I’m a stay-at-home mom, so I have a flexible schedule and can give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m available for boarding, walks, and drop-in visits on weekdays, depending on my schedule. I enjoy spending time with pets and making sure they get plenty of exercise, playtime, and companionship. I live in a pet-friendly apartment complex with plenty of nearby space for walks and outdoor time. I have a friendly 6-year-old cat and a 9-month-old baby, so I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats. I’m attentive to pets’ safety and needs and will make sure they have a comfortable, calm, and supervised environment while they’re in my care.
About: I have owned and taken care of dogs my entire life! I am very attentive and compassionate when it comes to dogs’ individual needs, and I treat all dogs as if they are my own. I work remotely and have a very flexible day-to-day schedule. I can always make time for pets throughout the day and will be consistently providing care to them while they are under my watch. I have a small yard in the back of my house that is fenced in, and I will be taking pets for walks as needed. I allow pets to have free range in my house unless the owner has other instructions.
“Emily and Tarek were absolutely wonderful with Zuess. You can tell right away that she genuinely cares about dogs and pays attention to their personalities, not just the routine parts of care. Zuess came home happy, relaxed, and clearly very loved. She kept me updated, made me feel comfortable while I was away, and treated him like he was her own. 5 stars <3”

“Mike was able to take Tillie on short notice and did a wonderful job looking after her for me. Very easy pick up and drop off! Will definitely have Tillie stay again if I can’t be home.”

“Jenna did an amazing job taking care of my two doggos while we took an out of town day trip! I really wanted someone we can trust to ensure my 16 year old shitzu is calm and comfortable while we’re away … he’s developed separation anxiety on top of having dementia and is half blind and deaf now and can work himself up into a tizzy when we’re away from the house for more than an hour! I am so thankful that Chewy was well taken care of and it was such a relief not to worry about him! We will definitely work with Jenna again!!”

“Charles B. was willing to watch our dog Zeus last-minute while we were on vacation and kept in contact, giving updates throughout the time he watched him. We really appreciate his kindness and flexibility!”

“Michael was so wonderful. He promptly responded to my request for a dogsitter, and he showed such genuine care throughout all of our interactions. Not only was he open to my dog boarding at his home, but he was also welcoming and gentle to my dog child as he adapted to him, his cute puppies, and his home. He cooked dog treats, went on regular walks, gave my dog steady potty breaks, and shared great pictures with me. I really felt that C.Lo was in the safest of hands, and that was much needed. I appreciate Michael and his quality service.”

About: Hi! I am a dependable, trustworthy animal lover with years of experience caring for dogs and cats. I grew up on a farm where I helped care for 7 dogs, 2 cats, goats, and chickens, so caring for animals has always been second nature to me. I also have my own English Setter, Maggie, whom I’ve raised since she was 8 weeks old. She’s now a year and a half old, so I’m very comfortable with high-energy dogs and understand how important it is to keep pets on their normal routine. Whether you’re looking for boarding or doggy day care, I’ll treat your pet like one of my own. I’ll make sure they get plenty of love, attention, exercise, and I’ll send photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. For boarding/daycare, I have a fenced backyard, and Maggie is very friendly and loves meeting other dogs. I’d love the opportunity to care for your furry family member! I work from home on the weekdays I’m available, so your pet will get plenty of potty breaks, playtime, attention, and care throughout the day. I have a flexible schedule and can easily accommodate their routine. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, I’ll follow their routine and any specific instructions to make them feel safe and comfortable. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, administering oral medications if needed, and providing lots of love and attention. I also send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

I’m so happy I took a chance and booked Amaris! She didn’t have any previous reviews but she accepted my doggie day care request last minute for my two toy poodles for an all day booking. She had excellent communication, flexibility, and was nice! I received plenty of pictures throughout the day and she took great care of my babies. Absolutely no issues and I will book with her again in the future!
I really appreciated Dakota taking my last minute request for care for my very large dog Freya. She was not intimidated by her size and welcomed her into her apartment with her own cat and dog. Freya was very willing to go with her the following day which is the highest compliment, as she does not like leaving me and jumped right into Dakota's car. As you may expect there was a bit of last minute shuffling of schedules to make it work but Dakota made herself available to pick up and drop off Freya to make it easier for all. All and all it was a good experience for all and I'd happily use Dakota for care in the future....

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
