“Kristin was incredible!!! So so sweet to our kitties and sent such great updates while we were away. So grateful for her and highly recommend to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dakota was absolutely amazing! She took care of my home, two cats, and even a fish while I was away, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She gave my pets so much love and attention, sent regular updates and photos, and left my home spotless. I came back to happy animals and everything just as I left it. I felt completely at ease knowing Dakota was there. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, caring, and communicative sitter!”

“Catherine has been great! Setting up the meet and greet was quick and easy and I appreciate how communicative she’s been during her visits. Catherine is sure to send photos and updates on the animals daily and do other things around the house like check the mail, water the plants, and just generally ensure everything is order. She seems to really like interacting with the cats and we look forward to continue working with her!”

“Emma watched Ava for two weeks while we were out of the country. I am so happy we had her as our sitter!! She was extremely reliable and timely and I could tell truly has a passion for animals. She is so sweet and took great care of our girl - and I would rebook her again in a heartbeat!”

About: I have been around animals of all kinds since a young age and love interacting with pets. Many of my friends and family members have relied on me to stay overnight, drop in during the day, and play with their dogs and cats to ensure they are enriched with play time and are well taken care of. I love fur babies of all sizes and breeds! I grew up with 2 large Rottweilers Bear Puppy and Katie. 3 Shih Tzu’s Molly, Alley and Cash and 1 miniature schnauzer Nicholas. I’m currently working part time in Downtown Charleston. Mondays and Wednesday I have more flexibility before 1:00 pm because I work remotely. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I am available for any lunchtime walks, play dates, and all the fur baby love! While I wish I could bring your pets to my home, I do not have the proper safety precautions for doggies and my kitties are timid of visiting pets, so I want to respect their home. When it comes to going into the pets homes I will ensure that all dogs remain on their leash while on walks away from the home and in the yards of their homes unless there is proper fencing to keep them safe. And same goes for inside/ outside kitties. I want all pets I interact with to feel safe in their environment and comfortable with me caring and interacting with them!
About: I've always loved animals and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities. I have pet sat for family, friends, and neighbors, helping with feeding, walks, playtime, and daily care. I grew up with a Yorkie and a Siamese cat and have also cared for a variety of other breeds, giving me experience with pets of different sizes and temperaments. While I do not currently have pets of my own, I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I understand that every pet is unique, and I am committed to providing dependable, attentive care tailored to their individual needs. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply extra cuddles and companionship, I will treat them as if they were my own. I work remotely which allows me to be available for pet visits, walks, and house sitting throughout the week. I enjoy spending time with animals and can provide dependable care while accommodating your pet's routine and needs. I am available on weekdays and weekends and will do my best to be flexible whenever possible. I understand how important it is to keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible while you're away. I take the time to learn their schedule, preferences, and personality so they can feel comfortable, secure, and cared for. Whether your pet has a specific feeding routine, favorite walking route, or just enjoys extra attention and playtime, I am happy to accommodate their individual needs and provide care tailored to them.
“Adare took great care of my cats while I was away! She was very attentive, communicative, and patient (especially with my shy girl Pinky). I would absolutely recommend Adare and would rebook in a heartbeat!”

“Sangram is the best! He always responds immediately, sends tons of photos, and genuinely cared about my three cats while they were in his care for over a week. He even got my super shy cat to come out of hiding and sit with him! My litter robot needed rebooting while I was away and he was happy to help reset it. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone and am so glad to have found a reliable sitter!”

Please send me a booking request if you are looking for pet care in the greater Charleston area for Summer 2026! I am a graduate student and work part-time this summer. In my free time, I love hanging out with your pets when you are away! I love neighborhood walks and am happy to spend time with your animals. Please take a look at my reviews! I will make sure your pets receive the best care, it’s important to me that animals feel loved and nurtured while their primary caregivers are away.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life, and caring for animals has always been a natural part of who I am. I genuinely love spending time with dogs - whether that’s going on long walks, keeping them active, or even stopping to say hello to dogs in yards on my walks home (something I find myself doing at random homes downtown quite often). I’ve also volunteered at a dog shelter, where I gained experience working with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. That experience taught me the importance of patience, attentiveness, and creating a calm environment for every animal. As a natural animal lover I will always bring lots of care and attention to every walk or visit. I am very active, reliable, and detail-oriented. My goal is always to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and genuinely cared for. I’m currently training to pursue a career in professional soccer! My schedule is very flexible and I am open to working with times that works best for you! I will love up on your pup as if it were my own!! I’m happy to work with your/their preferences. Whether that means tossing a ball at the park or going for a long walk!
“Abigail is fantastic with our loving, clever and energetic dog who’s always keeping us on our toes. She’s always on time, incredibly patient, and consistently reinforces the commands we’re working on. We truly appreciate her reliability and the care and dedication she brings to every visit.”

About: Most of the dogs I’ve cared for have been 35 pounds and up, so I’m really comfortable with bigger pups. I’ve stayed in people’s homes to watch their dogs and always try to keep things calm and familiar for them while their owners are away. I’ve also given dogs medication when needed, whether it’s pills or eye drops, and I’m always patient and gentle with them. I think what really sets me apart is how much I pay attention to each dog’s personality. Some want long walks and playtime, others just want company and cuddles. I adjust to whatever they need. I treat every dog as if they were my own and I make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved. I have a super flexible schedule because I take online classes from home while working toward getting into nursing school. I also do occasional Uber shifts, but my main focus is my nursing studies, so I’m home most of the day. This flexibility allows me to easily fit in dog walks or stay overnight for pet sitting. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, and it fits perfectly with my day. I only offer care in the pet’s own home, where they’re most comfortable and feel safe. I do my best to stick closely to their normal routine, whether that’s feeding times, walks, play, or downtime. I like to keep things calm and familiar so the pets feel secure while their owners are away. I also make sure to keep the home clean and cared for, and I’m happy to send updates so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands.
“Caroline was fantastic! She listened and met all of our needs in a responsible and professional manner. We will definitely be using Caroline again in the future, highly recommend!”

“Reagan did a great job. She helped care for my very geriatric cat and her particular needs. She kept her thriving for the 1.5 weeks I was away. Would re-hire and would recommend.”

“Daphne is amazing! I was looking for someone who would care for my dog the same as they would care for their own… Daphne was that and more! It was as if I had a member of my family watching and caring for my dog. Truly made my week long trip stress free knowing my dog was in great hands. Thank you again Daphne and you will be the only person I request to watch Jack from now on!”
About: I’ve been caring for animals of all kinds for over a decade. I have cared for cats, dogs, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, parrots, bunnies, and fish. I love animals and have a very open schedule, so I am looking to spend my time doing something i love- caring for animals! I have cared for animals of all personalities and types, and have experience handling medications and fixing invisible fences as well! Im currently a fresh grad and job searching so I can very flexible. I want to keep working while i search for my next move in life! I live in an apartment downtown, so I do not have a yard. That being said, it is better for me to house-sit than board, but I am open to boarding as i live near several parks like Marion square!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Charleston
Skylar was so sweet with Bronzie! She stayed overtime because he was cuddling on the couch with her. I feel so good knowing my baby is taken care of while I’m gone. I loved the pictures she took and she even located his favorite toy to play with. Her communication was quick and thorough. I will absolutely be using her services again. Bronzie insists!

Harriet did a fantastic job taking care of our cat while we were out of town! I could tell from the many photos so sent that our cat was in kind, caring, safe hands. Harriet followed the feeding and care instructions to a tee and I think our place was even cleaner than how we left it. We will absolutely be booking Harriet to take care of our cat next time we go out of town, highly recommend!!

Victoria was one of the best sitters I’ve had to date! She was extremely thorough and deeply cared about the wellbeing of my animals (their routines, play time, favorite toys, etc.). My cats are absolutely OBSESSED with her, and I know if I ever need to go out of town anytime soon, she’s definitely the sitter I’m contacting. Can confirm she’s a 12 out of 10 great sitter and person!! Definitely book her!!

Kate was amazing! She responded quickly with availability, was flexible when my schedule changed, met prior to our first sitting, and did everything as specified. Even down to opening the window for the cat when letting the dog outside. She sent pictures and left detailed updates. Even brought in a delivery for me. 10/10 recommend

Serena was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our senior cat and was level headed and calm even with the kitty’s health issues. She was a fantastic communicator and sent notes from every visit so that we know exactly how everything was going. We will definitely use her again in the future!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
