Pet care experience

Animal-lover, outgoing, responsive!

I have had dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and lizards at some point in my life, and cannot imagine a situation in which I do not have any pets. I recently moved to Charleston with my rabbit, Stitch, and I am eager to meet new animal friends around the area. I have worked as an overnight house/dog-sitter for extended stays, as well as drop-ins for individuals who work long days. I am happy to set up a recurring schedule for people who work long days, or people who like to get out of town! I am excited to meet you and your fur babies, and please reach out if you would like to arrange a meet-up.

Second time using Elizabeth for drop in visits for my cat while I'm away. She's great with communication, being prompt, and updating me on my cat's status. Highly recommend her services!

Schedule

I am currently a student at the Medical University of South Carolina pursuing my medical degree. I have classes in the morning and occasional events in the afternoon, but have multiple hours each day to come and walk/play with any pets, and I am happy to spend the night or stay at the house for longer periods.

Safety, trust & environment

I love taking dogs on walks and to parks, but I also understand the huge responsibility to keep dogs leashed and safe at all times. To that end, I never allow dogs outside of the house without a leash (with the exception of a fenced in yard, of course) and bring potty bags with me on the leash!

A typical day

In my experience as a dog-sitter, I have encountered lots of different types of dogs and think it is important to match my energy to the furry friend. I have babysat large pitbulls that require 2+ hours of walks per day to handle their energy, as well as cuddled up next to senior Shih Tzus who are content to sleep in my lap. I love getting out and exploring nearby parks and taking the dogs with me, but am also happy to stay home and chill with lower energy dogs. Ultimately, I hope to tailor the experience to what your furry friend needs.

I love ALL dogs, but need to make sure that I am prepared for any emergencies if you have a high risk dog. If your dog has any special needs, I strongly prefer you to write down all medication/feeding schedules, as well as the number of your preferred emergency vet.
