“Daphne has been pet sitting for me for the past 3-months. She is so good with my anxious German Shepherd. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to leave her at home while I travelled for business, but she has done so well with Daphne. I highly recommend her as a Pet Sitter.”
“Skylar was so sweet with Bronzie! She stayed overtime because he was cuddling on the couch with her. I feel so good knowing my baby is taken care of while I’m gone. I loved the pictures she took and she even located his favorite toy to play with. Her communication was quick and thorough. I will absolutely be using her services again. Bronzie insists!”

“Anna was an ideal cat sitter for us! She was an awesome communicator and did a wonderful job keeping in touch to meet our kitty’s needs while we were gone. She visited daily and gave plenty of love, treats, attention, as well as loads of pictures and videos which our whole family loved! I recommend her highly, things were clean and our cat was very happy when we returned. Thank you, Anna!”

“Claire is amazing! She is communicative, kind, and will do whatever she can to make sure your furry friends are well taken care of. I was at ease leaving my cats in her capable hands. I would recommend her and would rebook again in the future!”
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and absolutely love caring for them. I have years of experience pet sitting and walking dogs for friends, and I also have my own dog, a 3-year-old miniature dachshund named Goose who’s friendly, outgoing, and full of energy. I understand the importance of trust, routine, and a loving touch when it comes to caring for your furry family members. Whether it’s a leisurely walk, some playful exercise, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure your pup feels happy, safe, and well-loved. I can’t wait to meet your dog and give them the attention they deserve! Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine. I work remotely with extremely flexible hours, which allows me to prioritize the needs of your pet. With just a couple of days' notice, I can easily adjust my schedule to ensure I’m available to provide the care and attention they deserve. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or companionship, I’m always happy to make time for your furry friend! When caring for pets in my home, I ensure they get plenty of exercise and stimulation with long walks around the city, just like I do with my own dog. I also love taking dogs to the beach or on scenic trails, always tailoring the activity to their size, energy level, and preferences. While I don’t have a yard, I make up for it with frequent outdoor adventures and plenty of attention indoors. When caring for pets in your home, I’m equally comfortable adapting to their routine. Growing up with family land, I’m very familiar with letting dogs play in yards, throwing a ball, or simply enjoying safe outdoor freedom. Whether in my home or yours, I’ll provide personalized, attentive care to make your dog feel right at home.
“Sangram is the best! He always responds immediately, sends tons of photos, and genuinely cared about my three cats while they were in his care for over a week. He even got my super shy cat to come out of hiding and sit with him! My litter robot needed rebooting while I was away and he was happy to help reset it. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone and am so glad to have found a reliable sitter!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs in my household my entire life and have always had a special place in my heart for animal care. Being so familiar with dogs, I am willing to adapt and learn how to take the best care for your animal. When I come to play, walk, and care for your dogs I will dedicate my time to loving them. Specifically growing up I’ve helped train two golden retrievers within my family. I’ve also dog sat for family friends and neighbors growing up and would love to help out any dog owners downtown that need an extra hand! I am currently living in Charleston as a full time CofC student and am available for drop ins and/or house sittings! I am pretty flexible and can take on last minute bookings. I’m currently a full time worker at a coffee shop, so my shifts are typically early morning to midday. I have the rest of my days free and would love to help out as much as I can! I walk daily and am very familiar with the neighborhood. I have a lot of flexible availability to go on long walks or multiple walks a day.
“Kristin was incredible!!! So so sweet to our kitties and sent such great updates while we were away. So grateful for her and highly recommend to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“Emma watched Ava for two weeks while we were out of the country. I am so happy we had her as our sitter!! She was extremely reliable and timely and I could tell truly has a passion for animals. She is so sweet and took great care of our girl - and I would rebook her again in a heartbeat!”

About: Pet care experience: I’ve been obsessed with dogs my whole life. Big, small, fluffy, chaotic, you name it. I’ve walked, wrangled, and loved every breed imaginable. I work from home full time so I’m basically already on dog-parent hours. My two chihuahuas keep me humble and they’d love the company. Your dog is in good hands I work remotely so I’m home all day with a genuinely flexible schedule. No rushing, no “sorry running late” texts. I can do morning, midday, or afternoon walks depending on what works best for your dog. Consistent and reliable, and I actually like going outside and tend to walk 5-8 miles a day Your dog’s safety is my top priority. I stay aware of surroundings, keep walks structured, and know how to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments. My two chihuahuas have taught me more patience than I ever expected. Your dog will be treated like family.
“Ally was amazing! She was so thoughtful and thorough with our old dog Boone. Her messages and photos each walk assured us he was getting the best care. I would 100% recommend her to be your pet sitter and we will absolutely hire her again!”

“Delaney was awesome and easy to work with. She met me and my 2 dogs beforehand for a quick introduction and then was timely in checking in on them throughout the week. Good care and great communication. Will book again!”

“5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dakota was absolutely amazing! She took care of my home, two cats, and even a fish while I was away, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She gave my pets so much love and attention, sent regular updates and photos, and left my home spotless. I came back to happy animals and everything just as I left it. I felt completely at ease knowing Dakota was there. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, caring, and communicative sitter!”

“Reagan did a great job. She helped care for my very geriatric cat and her particular needs. She kept her thriving for the 1.5 weeks I was away. Would re-hire and would recommend.”

About: I have been around animals of all kinds since a young age and love interacting with pets. Many of my friends and family members have relied on me to stay overnight, drop in during the day, and play with their dogs and cats to ensure they are enriched with play time and are well taken care of. I love fur babies of all sizes and breeds! I grew up with 2 large Rottweilers Bear Puppy and Katie. 3 Shih Tzu’s Molly, Alley and Cash and 1 miniature schnauzer Nicholas. I’m currently working part time in Downtown Charleston. Mondays and Wednesday I have more flexibility before 1:00 pm because I work remotely. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I am available for any lunchtime walks, play dates, and all the fur baby love! While I wish I could bring your pets to my home, I do not have the proper safety precautions for doggies and my kitties are timid of visiting pets, so I want to respect their home. When it comes to going into the pets homes I will ensure that all dogs remain on their leash while on walks away from the home and in the yards of their homes unless there is proper fencing to keep them safe. And same goes for inside/ outside kitties. I want all pets I interact with to feel safe in their environment and comfortable with me caring and interacting with them!
“Catherine was so great! She immediately knew how to befriend my shy kitties and was sure to get all the applicable info before I headed out of town. She even fed the fish and watched out for sad plants!”

Brynn did an absolutely amazing job taking care of my dog, Stevie, while I was on vacation. She made sure Stevie got outside on time, took her on plenty of walks, and gave her lots of love and attention while I was away. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
