About: I have been taking care of my own dogs since I was 12, and I’ve always loved training them to do cool tricks! I also, since about 14, have been taking care of other people’s dogs I am not a professional dog trainer, but I do have experience (from training my own pup) in puppy/dog training. I have my pup, Dove, who is a 9-month-old Swiss Shepherd. She is super sweet and loves to play and be outside. I also have 3 cats and 1 kitten. I just moved to Charleston. It fits in perfectly with my schedule! I don't have any other jobs currently, so I have plenty of free time to hang out with your pets! In my home, pets will not be left unattended and will be walked with leashes and harnesses. In their homes, I will always make sure doors and gates are locked and secured properly, also watching out for any signs of discomfort at all.

“Alexis was extremely dependable and helpful, especially when it came to assisting with cleaning up after Crypto. She didn’t hesitate to step in when needed and handled everything with care and professionalism. Her reliability and willingness to help made a big difference, and I’m very grateful for her support.”

“I highly recommend booking Kathy to take care of your fur babies! She was very communicative about what was going on day to day and the dogs LOVED her. Thank you, Kathy!”

“Rachel was the best!! She took such good care of our kitty. She played with her, did her litter box and even noticed our trash had fruit-flies and took it out for us!! She’s the best!❤️”

“Audrey is fabulous! She is very loving with our fur babies and gives great updates and pictures. I always feel my home and pets are safe when I'm travelling with her help. ❤️🐈⬛🐕🐕🦺”

“Isaiah was great! He was reliable and got along great with my cats. I ended up fostering another cat temporarily, and Isaiah did a great job with that cat too. I’ll definitely hire him again when I go out of town for New Years!”

“Delaney was awesome and easy to work with. She met me and my 2 dogs beforehand for a quick introduction and then was timely in checking in on them throughout the week. Good care and great communication. Will book again!”

“Ally was amazing! She was so thoughtful and thorough with our old dog Boone. Her messages and photos each walk assured us he was getting the best care. I would 100% recommend her to be your pet sitter and we will absolutely hire her again!”

About: Experience in seniors / sick and injured / puppies. Familiar with all household pet mammals. I like to send pics and vids throughout my time watching them. I'm a marine biologist for South Carolina Department of Natural Resource for my full time job. I love advocating for animals and the environment. I have a flexible work schedule and can drop in before and after work. I can accommodate my own transportation and mid-day drop in if needed. I have spare bedrooms available for pets to stay in as well as a fenced in backyard and open floor plan. My home is filled with lots of friends (4 kitties , 1 bunny, and 2 pups ).
“Caroline is the best. Our flight was delayed and we wouldn’t be home in time to feed our cat. She was able to help us out! Percy is always happy when we return home. We love the photos and videos that she sends while we are away.”

“We absolutely love having Grace take care of our 6-month-old puppy! She consistently provides a fantastic 60-minute drop-in visit, during which she takes our pup on long, enjoyable walks. Our puppy always comes back happy and tired, which is a testament to the great exercise and attention he receives. We trust Gracen completely with our furry family member. Highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet sitter!”

About: I volunteer at the Charleston Animal Society and work primarily with dogs. I have worked with staff on training dogs as well as making enrichment toys. I have worked for different families to help care for their dogs while they are at work or out of town. I currently volunteer at the Charleston Animal Society but that is flexible so I can make time to be available to take care of your pets. Since I have 2 cats, I would care for client's pets in their home. I treat all animals as if they are my own and how I want my cats cared for when I am out of town.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Woodhaven
Anna is the absolute best pet caretaker ever. She will truly, deeply love your pets as her own, and they will feel the same way about her! She goes the extra mile in every way - love, time, attention, care, advice - I can’t say enough good things. My only fear is that my pets are going to be disappointed when we get back home and they don’t get to be with Anna anymore!

I was quite pleased to find Lindsay! I felt comfortable and encouraged after interviewing her, and quickly decided that she would be my best person for my cat sitting... We were comfortable talking and when she visited Tosh and me, she was very careful, adroit, and comprehensive about what he might need, and how best to care for him! She even read all the cat care articles I left for her! She was responsive to my texts and filled me in with pictures of assurance... That made me relax more! Most of all, I truly appreciate her empathy and understanding as this necessary trip was the first time we had been away from each other in years! I can highly recommend her as a part of Rover care!

Harriet did a fantastic job taking care of our cat while we were out of town! I could tell from the many photos so sent that our cat was in kind, caring, safe hands. Harriet followed the feeding and care instructions to a tee and I think our place was even cleaner than how we left it. We will absolutely be booking Harriet to take care of our cat next time we go out of town, highly recommend!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodhaven. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
