“Sarah is absolutely a life saver and beyond amazing with my two pups. I had a last minute situation and she went above and beyond to accommodate and make sure the pups were taken care of. You are in the very best of hands with Sarah. Do not miss a chance to give your animals the beat care possible. Choose Sarah.”

“We had a bit of an unusual Rover request, and Lena was absolutely wonderful! We’re working with a trainer to help our shy dog, Bonzo, feel more comfortable with new people, and we needed someone he had never met to come over so we could practice having a “stranger” in the house. Lena was so kind, patient, and completely willing to follow our trainer’s instructions and go at Bonzo’s pace. They made the whole experience incredibly easy and were so sweet with him. We’re very grateful they were willing to help us out and would absolutely recommend them!”

About: I have taken care of friends and families pets when they go out of town. I spend time not only letting them take a potty break but going on walks or running around the yard to get energy out. I work three nights a week so I am available every afternoon and most mornings and nights. I am usually up by early afternoon on days I do work so I have plenty of time to help with pet care. I have cats and a dog of my own. I think it is important to not only just let the dogs out for a potty break but to play with them and/or walk them to get some energy out as well. I am always happy to help with cats as well.
“Isaiah was great! He was reliable and got along great with my cats. I ended up fostering another cat temporarily, and Isaiah did a great job with that cat too. I’ll definitely hire him again when I go out of town for New Years!”

“Janessy is very easy to communicate with and did a great job checking on my cats while I was on vacation. I got daily pictures and updates. I would definitely book with Janessy again!”

About: Friends and family have asked me to look after their furry companions since I moved to Charleston in 2020. Most of my experience is with cats and small dogs. I have availability on the weekends to drop in your furry friends make sure the have what they need— food, walks, playtime, attention and all! Each animal has its own personality and specific needs. I come into every drop-in situation with calm presence and the intention of learning the animals individual needs and care routine in a way that respects the pet and its owner’s environment.

About: Grew up the daughter of a dog & horse trainer. I’m a caregiver by nature who has raised a family surrounded by animals of all kinds. I am a “retired” stay at home mom who teaches science classes part time and would love to fill some of my recent free time with furry friends. I love animals and nature & can’t think of a better way to spend my days than a walk with a four legged friend. I am a caregiver by nature and very attentive. I’m confident and comfortable walking both big and small dogs alike. I probably like dogs more than people and will be happy to shower your guy with love and attention.
“Zackary was a fantastic dog sitter. Super responsive, understood all my requests and my dog's needs. He went above and beyond, staying longer than he needed to, making sure she was having the best time possible, and sending great updates with detailed feedback for each visit. Highly recommend!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
