“Sarah was amazing with our lab while we traveled! She was super reliable, professional and communication was excellent. Most importantly, we knew our boy was being loved on and we didn’t have to worry about him. I would absolutely book Sarah again and 100% recommend her!”

About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life- i’ve lived with large and small dogs & truly love them all! im a full time registered nurse who would love some fresh air and doggie play time on my off days. I would love to be flexible to suit you and your pet’s needs best. My husband also occasionally assists with some of the care as well depending on our schedule. can’t wait to meet your furry friends☺️ Only working three days a week, I have a lot of free time to spend with pets. I love a long, scenic walk, or even just quality time with pets of any kind. I care for pets with love, gentleness, and lots of petting! I can stop by for some play time in your home, play fetch, or walk them around to get some energy out.
“Jacquelin was great! She took excellent care of Billie and made sure she was happy, comfortable and well looked after while I was traveling. Coming home to a happy dog and a tidy house gave me a great peace of mind. I would definitely use her again and highly recommend Jacquelin to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have pet sat for family, friends, and neighbors since I was a kid! I fostered a sweet pittie mix for a few months while I was in college as well. I work part-time a restaurant, so the rest of my days are pretty open! I work shifts that are less than 8 hours so I can play with and check on your pet before/after. I will be a grad student starting next month as well, but only will have class two days a week. I have a car and am happy to drive to your home! I am happy to feed, play with, and crate pets in your home! I am happy to follow any routine/guidelines to best serve you and your pet!
“We needed a last minute sitter to stay with our dog Banksy for a week. We were naturally worried about inviting a stranger to stay in our home but when Rachel came over for a quick meet/greet we immediately relaxed. Rachel was so friendly, kind, honest and normal that we had no worries whatsoever. And we were right. Rachel kept Banksy busy and updated us daily with info and pics. We just got home and Banksy is happy and the house is spotless. We highly recommend Rachel for your pet sitting needs!”

“Allysa did a wonderful job with our senior girl! She was responsible, caring, attentive, proactive and communicative. She did an all around amazing job! I would not hesitate to have her stay again. Thank you, Allysa!”

“Lena was so great! I was traveling with my dachshund Frankie and staying in an Airbnb and needed someone to watch Frankie while we were out during the day and at dinner. Lena was super flexible and made herself available and Frankie loved napping on her lap and chewing her bone next to her. I could tell Frankie felt safe and right at home with Lena. It put me at ease and made our travels easy as could be.”

“I would definitely recommend Heather a a doggy sitter. She took care of Lacey and Ginger (the girls) while I was on vacation. She sent me daily photos which helped alleviate any anxiety I may have had leaving them at home. For 2 days, after I returned from vacation, they would look out the front door, I believe waiting for Heather. I take take as a good sign !”

“Janessy was wonderful with our two kitties-she kept us updated with pictures and made us feel comfortable being away for the weekend. Came back to happy cats and a clean house! We’d recommend Janessy to anyone looking for a caring and responsible pet sitter!”

“Riley was awesome! She stayed at my place with my two pups for almost a week while we were out of town. I loved all the updates and knew they were taken care of while we were away. She also left my house cleaner than when i left, I will definitely use her again!”

About: I have a 6 year old dog and have fostered dozens of pups of all ages and breeds. Fostering has taught me how to adapt to new dogs with different needs and I have plenty of experience with young puppies. I work from home so I have plenty of time and flexibility to care for your pets. I’m very active and typically take my dog on long walks and adventures around town (beach, parks, walks). I have a very large fenced in yard that’s great for play time! I have an adult male dog that loves other dogs and is regularly exposed to new friends in the house because I foster. Pets are allowed on furniture and beds in my house.
“We were so nervous to have a first time in-house dog sitter while away for the weekend. But Jalisa was so wonderful!!! She kept us updated with pictures of play & mealtime. Was incredibly respectful of our home and left it spotless. Our dogs (that can be quite rowdy) were so happy and well taken care of. JaLisa will be the first call we make the next time we need a pet sitter!”

“Emma did a wonderful job taking care of our puppy, Leia, while we were out of town. She was great with communication, kept us updated every day and was both responsive and proactive throughout. Highly recommend and we will definitely book her again. Thanks, Emma!”

About: I've been actively caring for animals for more than 14 years :). Growing up, I regularly pet-sat for family friends, and my family often took in stray cats and litters of kittens, giving me hands-on experience with pets of all ages and personalities. Today, I have three cats of my own and continue to pet sit for friends and family. I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. Whether your pet needs playtime, companionship, a consistent routine, or extra patience and attention, I'm committed to providing loving and reliable care while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I have a full-time job with a very flexible hybrid schedule. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I can work from anywhere, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide care, check-ins, walks, or companionship throughout the day. I currently specialize in occasional bookings, vacation care, and drop-in visits. At this time, I’m not accepting recurring weekly walking schedules. I'm also fully available on weekends. At home, I care for my three cats with my partner, which allows me the flexibility to accommodate pet sitting while ensuring every pet gets the attention and care they deserve. I enjoy spending time with animals and am committed to keeping them happy, comfortable, and on their normal routine while you're away. I provide care that is tailored to each pet’s needs and routine, whether in my home or in a client’s home. In my client’s home, I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal schedule as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, litter box care, and any specific instructions provided. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and companionship while their owners are away, along with regular updates for peace of mind. In my own home, pets are cared for in a calm and safe environment. I ensure they are supervised, given a consistent routine, and treated like part of the family. I currently have three cats of my own, so I understand how important it is to create a clean, low-stress space where animals feel secure and cared for.
About: I have had over 10 years of experience, I have been taking care of all ages of dogs. I grew up fostering and adopting rescue dogs. I have experience with multiple different types of personalities of dogs and am able to handle dogs from 10-100 pounds. I am respectful of all spaces and will provide the best care. As a full-time registered nurse, I typically work Monday through Friday until 4:00 PM. Because of this, I’m generally available for evening drop-in visits, walks, and overnight care on weekdays, with greater flexibility on weekends. My work schedule can occasionally change, but I keep my Rover calendar up to date and will only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to. If my availability ever varies, I’ll communicate with you as early as possible to ensure your pet receives the reliable, loving care they deserve. I would love to come to your home or I can bring the pet to my apartment with a dog park. I am consistent and hard working.
“Kiana did a great job with our dog. We have a reactive dog that needs time to get used to strangers. Kiana was super calm with her and won her over quickly. She was also very communicative with updates. We would absolutely have her back again to take care of our dog.”

“Reagan was great! She sent plenty of photos and proivided updates on how everyone was doing. Very respectful of the house. When we got back, the animals were happy to see us, but did not act like they had been ignored, which is the best compliment I can give.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Folly Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Folly Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Folly Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Folly Beach. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
