“Megan did a great job house sitting for my rescue dog Bear while I was away for a week. She paid close attention to details and kept me in loop. So glad Bear was taken good care of and I recommend Megan to anyone in need of pet care.”

“I can definitely feel comfortable saying that Kelsey is a wonderful pet sitter and treats the pets in her care like true family members. She watched my 2 dogs for 8 days and stayed in my home. One of my dogs has dietary requirements and Kelsey did a great job with her meals. She walked the girls and played with them and even allowed them to sleep with her! She took care of the mail, the trash and my plants and left my house clean and neat. I will definitely use Kelsey again whenever I need a pet sitter! I am extremely nervous about leaving my pets with anyone, but with Kelsey I felt confident that my girls would be cared for responsibly with love and kindness!”

“Zoey B. Is an amazing pet sitter! She handled all 5 of our cats and two dogs over 70 lbs for the weekend. Our pets absolutely loved her, and they are pretty picky! Zoey sent us amazing pictures of each of our pets several times a day. This meant so much to me because we were very far from home attending my father-in-law’s funeral. Seeing my pets happy, healthy and safe with Zoey just gave me such peace in such a sad time. I highly recommend Zoey, and I absolutely intend to contact her through Rover the next time we need to go out of town. Thank you, Zoey! You’re Awesome!❤️”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and can’t imagine life without them. I’ve been dog sitting and walking for family and friends for the past 7 years, and somewhere along the way became the person everyone calls when they need someone to spoil their pup. I have a golden retriever of my own who is very loved (and very aware of it), so I know how important it is to have someone you trust with your dog. I’m currently working part time and have a pretty flexible schedule. I have time in the early morning, afternoon, or some evenings to watch or walk your pet. I have a large front and backyard where dogs can safely run and play using a long leash that gives them freedom to the entire yard while staying safe and secure. I like to keep a consistent routine with play time, feeding, and lots of attention and care. If I’m in someone else’s home, I try to stick as closely as I can to their normal routine so the pet feels as relaxed and at home as possible.
About: I work from home, but travel too much to have a pet of my own right now, so I’d love to spend my workdays keeping yours company instead! I grew up with dogs (mainly Shih Tzus) and have volunteered and worked at animal shelters in Texas for several years. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, as well as fostering litters of kittens and adult cats. I’d love to care for your pets and will give them lots of love and attention...and send LOTS of pictures! 🐾📸 I work fully remote M-F, which gives me plenty of flexibility to make sure your pet gets the attention and care they need! I do my best to keep their routine as close to normal as possible. I pride myself on being reliable, responsible, and a great communicator. I want you to have complete peace of mind knowing your pet is safe and comfortable while you’re away. For dogs safety specifically, your dog will always be kept on a leash when outside the home, and I will never introduce your dog to another dog while we’re out on walks. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions or routines.
“Jessica is a literal dog whisper! She stayed with our senior dog and young dog for several days. They were happy, well taken care of, and spoiled. She is truly an angel. ❤️ I can’t say enough nice things!”

About: I have had pet dogs, large and small, my entire life. I will give your precious pet the attention and love we both know they deserve. I can offer a quick potty walk, long leisurely strolls, or active playtime, whatever suits your needs. I am currently working as a part-time freelance graphic designer so I have an open and flexible schedule to fit you and your pet in as needed. I can take recommended routes, but I am happy to create an adventure with your pet. I respect all dog parenting styles and will happily follow any training or behavioral instructions that you prefer.

“Maura house and dog sat for us for 8 days. Maura was friendly and very experienced with dog sitting, which made us feel comfortable leaving our dog with someone from Rover for the first time! Our dog is usually shy around new folks but was immediately comfortable around Maura. We loved that she sent us updates and pictures while we were away. We will definitely book Maura again in the future!”

“I can’t sing Jess’s praises loud enough. Jess has cared for our senior Newfoundland Remy twice and truly gone above and beyond to make sure our baby girl feels loved and cared for. Remy has a slew of special needs that can make finding sitters challenging. From the first time Jess met Remy, her warm and kind spirit melted us all. Jess takes the time to be thorough and thoughtful, and her education and expertise also make her an incredible resource with tons of valuable insights, especially for senior pets like our Remy. We can always expect regular photos with detailed “Pupdates” when Remy’s in Jess’s capable care. Jess is punctual, responsive, and trustworthy…a true gift. We’re so grateful to have found Jess and couldn’t recommend her more to care for your precious pet like they’re her own!”

“Savannah is a real sweetheart! She was on time and ready to jump right in when I had to travel. She gave me assurance and took excellent care of my fur babies. I would definitely recommend Savannah 110%. Love, CarlaJean”

“Kyler was great!! Kyler house sit for us over the weekend and took care of our Aussie Nellie. He sent lots of photos and kept us updated on how she was doing throughout the weekend, couldn’t have asked for a better experience!”

“Rachel was awesome! I can’t stress enough how great she was with our two dogs AND communication with us! She was quick to respond and flexible with our needs. I’d give her 10 stars if I could!!”

“WOW! We have had many sitters stay with our pups and Kilee was by far the best we have ever had! She was so sweet with our babies and sent updates consistently. She also went above and BEYOND with our house and playing with the pups. So glad we found her and would highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Megan was an excellent sitter for my boys! I was able to leave my 2 boxers home while I travelled for a day long business trip. Megan sent pictures, notes and kept me informed throughout the day. I returned to 2 happy pups and a neat & tidy home. Thank you Megan!”

“Really helped us out in a pinch. Our dogs loved her, she was very understanding, communicative, and clean. I’ll definitely try to rebook with her when needed!”

Kori was phenomenal!!! She took excellent care of our 8 month old VERY rambunctious puppy and made it sound easy. She also left the house spotless (maybe even cleaner than when we left, lol). She sent us some great pics. We were able to fully relax and enjoy our vacation knowing out pup was in good and competent hands. We hope Kori will come back and sit for us again - she is the one for us!!

Excellent pet sitter! She cared for our two dogs for two nights at our condo and did a fantastic job. She kept us updated with shared photos, which gave us great peace of mind, and it was clear our dogs were well cared for and happy. Reliable, thoughtful, and easy to communicate with — we would definitely recommend her and would happily book again

Rachel is wonderful! Best human and so knowledgeable and attentive to our fur baby! She has great communication, spoiled our pup and treated our Olive girl home with such care. We will definitely hope to have her take care of our girl again! Her experience is unmatched when it comes to care for animals given her work as a vet tech which gave us such confidence while being away for almost 2 weeks! Grateful to have found her! 🤍 🐾

Anna was a life saver when our dog sitting situation fell apart and we needed someone on short notice. She took wonderful care of our two wild Australian Shepherds and did a great job communicating with us everyday. We highly recommend her for all of your pet sitting/walking needs!

Sage was so sweet and easy to work with. She came early to meet Nellie in a meet and greet, and watched Nellie for 2 nights while I was away. She was kind enough to bring in packages that got delivered and my house was left in perfect condition. Will definitely book with Sage on my next trip!

Mary was fantastic. Five stars isn’t enough! I was able to enjoy my time away from my pup (Mona) stress free. Mona loved Mary and she provided me with fun photo updates along the way. For anyone looking for a caring and communicative dog-sitter, Mary should be your go-to!

Rachel was awesome with our two dogs Zoey and George! She gave me regular updates, no problem feeding my one dog her special diet and meds, and walked them every morning! When I came home, they looked happy and relaxed, we will definitely use her again and highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Isle of Palms on Rover is $73.26 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,614 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Isle of Palms. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Isle of Palms walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Isle of Palms maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Isle of Palms choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
