Highly, highly recommend Megan! Megan cared for our dog, like he was her own for the last week. She sent tons of pictures along the way, so we could see he was happy! She took him on adventures (which we said was great to do), walks, and lots of cuddles. She also helped with a shipment of frozen dog food that was supposed to arrive before we left. Our dog was sad to see her leave. We’ll definitely use Megan again!

Melanie did a great job watching our pup, Murph! In all the photos and videos, he looked like he was having a ton of fun. Melanie is very communicative and put us at ease on our trip knowing Murph was well cared for.

I cannot recommend Lydia enough for all of your petsitting needs - she watched our pups AND backyard ducks when we went out of town for the weekend. My husband and I came home from our trip to two content and relaxed boys (our dogs) and four happy and peppy girls (our ducks). Lydia went above and beyond by taking out the trash, washing the towels, and changing the sheets before she left…we’ll most definitely use her again!

Delia was fabulous and truly went above and beyond for our fur babies (1 lab and 2 cats). She was flexible, responsive, and sent updates regularly. Most importantly, my dog, Macy absolutely loved spending time with her!! I could see all the love come through in the pictures that were sent during the week we were traveling. Thank you, Delia! We cannot wait to work with you again. ❤️

Christa was fantastic the entire process of sitting for my senior dog in my home. She responds quickly, asks all of the important questions to ensure she is providing the proper care, then communicates effectively while we were away. She even was able to do a nail trim which is something my very senior dog has refused for nearly a year. What a life saver! I'll definitely be rebooking!

Tori was great. She took the time to come and meet Peony prior to her stay, and took lots of time to ask thoughtful questions so that she was prepared to provide the best possible care for her. During the stay, she was very communicative and provided lots of pictures. I felt very comfortable leaving Peony with Tori, and would definitely book her again!

About: I have been caring for dogs for over 10 years and absolutely love animals of all kinds! Since I was around 11 years old, neighbors, friends, and families in my community have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets. I truly love spending time with dogs whether that means going on walks, playing outside, sticking to their routines, or just relaxing and cuddling with them. I am very dependable, patient, and attentive to each dog’s personality and needs. As a full time Clemson MBA student taking online classes this summer, I also have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets lots of attention and care! I am currently a full time MBA student at Clemson taking only a few online classes this summer, which gives me a very flexible schedule for pet care! I am available during weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights depending on your needs. Because my schedule is flexible, I am able to give pets lots of attention, playtime, walks, and companionship throughout the day. I love staying active with dogs and making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while their owners are away. Creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for pets is very important to me. If pets stay in my home, I live in a great neighborhood for walks and outdoor time, and I always make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and sticking to their normal routines as much as possible. I am also completely comfortable staying overnight in a client’s home if that is preferred for your pet’s comfort and consistency. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone, and I always treat every animal like they are my own with lots of attention, patience, affection, and care!!

Alina was amazing!! Our Golden has separation anxiety and has always gone on an eating strike when we leave town. Alina sent us so many updates that it made us so at ease our entire time. He actually ate more for her than for us! She treats them as her own. When we returned home she washed our sheets, left our house cleaner than we left it and left us donuts and a toy and treats for our dog. She was incredible and We can’t wait to have her back!!

About: I have been working as a veterinary technician since 2023. I believe it’s very important to advocate for those without a voice. My knowledge, skills and intuition allow me to give the best care possible. I grew up taking care of various animals including dogs, cats, and birds. About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s personality, routine, and comfort level. I provide mindful, intentional care with plenty of walks, potty breaks, playtime, photos, and updates so you can feel confident while you’re away! I’m naturally very attentive and want every dog to feel safe, loved, and understood. Some dogs want constant play and adventure, some need time to warm up, and others just want a calm, cozy space to relax. I adjust my care based on their energy, personality, and routine so they feel comfortable instead of overwhelmed. For boarding and day care, I offer a separate pet friendly playroom where your pet can settle in, decompress, and feel at home. This gives them space to explore at their own pace and ease into a new environment comfortably. I only take on what I can handle well, so your pet gets thoughtful, personalized attention. My clients often mention that I’m responsive, communicative, caring, and responsible, and that their pets feel comfortable with me. That trust means the world to me, and I take it seriously. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and ages, and I always appreciate details about feeding, medications, behavior, leash habits, energy level, and how your dog does around other pets. My goal is simple: safe, loving, premium care that keeps your pet happy and keeps you fully updated for peace of mind. I have a flexible schedule and do my best to build each booking around your pet’s normal routine. I’m available throughout the week and on weekends, and I like to review care details ahead of time so I can make sure your pet feels comfortable, safe, and settled. For boarding and day care, I plan my day around walks, potty breaks, playtime, rest, and updates based on your pet’s energy level and needs. For house sitting and drop ins, I keep routines as consistent as possible so your pet and home feel cared for while you’re away. I only take on what I can handle well, so every pet gets thoughtful attention instead of feeling like just another booking. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I take the time to understand their personality, behavior, needs, and any special instructions so I can care for them in a way that feels familiar and reassuring. In my home, pets have a calm, clean, pet friendly environment with a separate playroom where they can settle in, decompress, and explore at their own pace. I’m thoughtful about introductions, personal space, potty breaks, walks, rest time, and keeping each pet comfortable without overwhelming them. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat the space with the same respect and attention I would want in my own. I’m mindful with doors, locks, routines, feeding instructions, medications, updates, and anything else that helps you feel confident while you’re away. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you know your pet is safe, comfortable, and cared for with real attention.

About: I love animals especially dogs. My last dog, Nino needed to be put down and i just couldn’t get over him but until I got to college and in my own apartment because my grandma wouldn’t want in the house but I snuck him in several times to sleep with me but I always would think him. Nino was already trained so I don’t have experience and training for special skill but, I can assure you that your dog is in great care and also being a trustworthy companion that will treat your dog like he or she was my very own. I am in school until 3:30 p.m. them I’m completely free so I walk with your dog and whatever that needs to be done. Consistent feeding times, regular exercise, and timely veterinary check-ups are crucial for their health and happiness. A well-maintained pet care routine supports not only their physical health but also their emotional well-being The specific tasks and level of care provided depend on the individual needs of the pet and the services offered, but generally include feeding, grooming, exercising, monitoring health, and providing companionship.

Jeanne was amazing! She gave me updates the whole time I was away, and really looked after my babies. Oliver is the easy one, my Stormie can be a bit much in the skittish department but Jeanne really did wonders with her and had the patience of a saint with her. Jeanne is a great person, she is so easy to talk to and loves all fur babies! Will definitely as her again.

If we could give Shawn 10 stars, we would!!!! If you are reading this review and wondering whether you should hire Shawn, we'd say look no further and book Shawn now. We found Shawn after a last minute cancellation by another Rover dog sitter. He came right over to meet our dog, Art. Shawn was very responsible and responsive throughout our entire trip. He followed all of our pup's instructions exactly -- and went above board by giving Art lots of extra love and attention and even taking our pup on a pre-approved "field trips."

FAQs for House Sitting - Whitehall Terrace

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Whitehall Terrace on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 1,632 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Whitehall Terrace. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whitehall Terrace walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whitehall Terrace maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whitehall Terrace choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whitehall Terrace. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
