“What an amazing human and dog lover. Extremely smart, professional and kind. Megan took amazing care of our two dogs and beaded dragon. We look forward to using her services again. Thank you so much Megan!”

“Delia was fabulous and truly went above and beyond for our fur babies (1 lab and 2 cats). She was flexible, responsive, and sent updates regularly. Most importantly, my dog, Macy absolutely loved spending time with her!! I could see all the love come through in the pictures that were sent during the week we were traveling. Thank you, Delia! We cannot wait to work with you again. ❤️”

“This is our second time having Gaby & Kevin watch our dog and we couldn’t recommend them more. They are very communicative and attentive; when you book with Gaby & Kevin you can rest assured that your pet is receiving great care.”

“I cannot recommend Lydia enough for all of your petsitting needs - she watched our pups AND backyard ducks when we went out of town for the weekend. My husband and I came home from our trip to two content and relaxed boys (our dogs) and four happy and peppy girls (our ducks). Lydia went above and beyond by taking out the trash, washing the towels, and changing the sheets before she left…we’ll most definitely use her again!”

“Alina was amazing!! Our Golden has separation anxiety and has always gone on an eating strike when we leave town. Alina sent us so many updates that it made us so at ease our entire time. He actually ate more for her than for us! She treats them as her own. When we returned home she washed our sheets, left our house cleaner than we left it and left us donuts and a toy and treats for our dog. She was incredible and We can’t wait to have her back!!”

“Melanie did a great job watching our pup, Murph! In all the photos and videos, he looked like he was having a ton of fun. Melanie is very communicative and put us at ease on our trip knowing Murph was well cared for.”

“Absolutely amazing care and such a sweet person. Carla came over before our doggy staycation to meet Blaze and Luna and they were immediately in love with her. We got daily update photos and they seemed to be living it up! Thank you so much Carla!”

About: I’ve taken care of furry friends of all types since I was around 10 years old. I’ve also been a long time dog owner and trusted pet sitter for many years. I’m earning my bachelors degree in biology and love caring for the animals who make our lives so much better. I am pretty flexible with my schedule. Dog walking can be at any time of day between 6am and 8pm. Pet sitting visits that do not require me to stay over can be between 6am and 10pm. I am happy to comply with any of the guidelines or accommodations you and your pets have. Our pets deserve the best and I wouldn’t expect anything less from their sitter/walker.
“Mitchell was absolutely great with my pups. He was very hands on and sent txt, pictures and videos so we knew what they were up to all weekend. When we returned home the house looked like how we left it. Two thumbs up and will definitely be using him again.”

About: I have been caring for dogs for over 10 years and absolutely love animals of all kinds! Since I was around 11 years old, neighbors, friends, and families in my community have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets. I truly love spending time with dogs whether that means going on walks, playing outside, sticking to their routines, or just relaxing and cuddling with them. I am very dependable, patient, and attentive to each dog’s personality and needs. As a full time Clemson MBA student taking online classes this summer, I also have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets lots of attention and care! I am currently a full time MBA student at Clemson taking only a few online classes this summer, which gives me a very flexible schedule for pet care! I am available during weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights depending on your needs. Because my schedule is flexible, I am able to give pets lots of attention, playtime, walks, and companionship throughout the day. I love staying active with dogs and making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while their owners are away. Creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for pets is very important to me. If pets stay in my home, I live in a great neighborhood for walks and outdoor time, and I always make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and sticking to their normal routines as much as possible. I am also completely comfortable staying overnight in a client’s home if that is preferred for your pet’s comfort and consistency. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone, and I always treat every animal like they are my own with lots of attention, patience, affection, and care!!
“Jen was absolutely wonderful! She watched me and my husband’s fur babies while we were away for our wedding weekend. She sent me so many updates and pictures. I could truly tell that my kids were being well cared for and were happy! When we came back home our apartment was well kept and clean. I would highly recommend her for any of your pet sitting needs. We will be using her again for any future trips. Thank you Jen!”

About: I always took care of dogs for family and friends while they travel. We don’t have pets of our own currently, so know that your pet will get a lot of love from us. I am currently working from home and usually just leave the house to take my son to daycare and pick him up. I can take your dog out as many times needed for walks and bathroom breaks during the day. We live in a townhouse, with no fence. So we will always need to go out on a leash. I do have a 2 year son, so your pet needs to be good and/or used with kids. We don’t own any pets so you can rest assured they won’t have any problems with that.
“Zoey is very kind and considerate of me the pet owner as well as my pup. She communicated with me during her stay just to put my mind at ease. She sent pictures so I knew my pup was well taken care of. She is responsive and reliable.”

“Isabella was great with the dogs and was in constant communication with us and sending updates and pictures. We will definitely be hiring her again when we need coverage. Highly recommend her!”
About: I have approached every single dog owner I have ever seen in order to ask them to pet their dog. My friends and family have always called me a dog whisperer because I’m usually able to even pet the shyest of dogs. I am looking to work part time. I am about to go back to college, but I am free every day except Sunday mornings (church) and Monday night (small groups). I have two Australian shepherds whom I have helped to train. I take them on at least one walk a day and we have a fenced in yard which they can go out into multiple times a day. I help to feed them and take care of them on a daily basis.

Alina was awesome with our two dogs while we were out of town for 4 days! Truly took care of them in every way- walks, playtime, food, treats, etc. She kept me updated the whole trip and we could tell they were in great hands and feeling comfortable! When we came home the house was in perfect shape and she even left some treats for the dogs! Will definitely be using her again!

We appreciate Laurie taking care of Beau and Izzy, especially during Christmas week. She kept us informed throughout the week and the pups seemed happy and healthy when we returned from our trip. I appreciate being able to have someone stay with the pups in our home where they feel safe and comfortable. Laurie did a great job. We will definitely reach out to her again for future pup-sitting needs. 😊

Ericka was great!! We were from out of town and drove in with our RV and German Shepherd. Ericka was flexible enough and willing to dog sit for us in our RV. It worked out great!! We will certainly use Ericka again should we gss as ve the opportunity to visit Mt. Pkeasant, SC. again
Marian was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Scottie! She went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and well cared for. She took him on plenty of walks, gave him lots of playtime, and kept me updated with so many great pictures while I was away. It gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I could tell he was loved and cared for just like he would be when I’m at home. I highly recommend Marian to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter—she did an amazing job!

FAQs for House Sitting - Wando
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Wando on Rover is $55 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,653 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wando. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wando walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wando maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wando choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wando. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
