“Absolutely amazing care and such a sweet person. Carla came over before our doggy staycation to meet Blaze and Luna and they were immediately in love with her. We got daily update photos and they seemed to be living it up! Thank you so much Carla!”

“Jai was terrific! This was my first experience using Rover, and she made it very easy to leave our dogs and cat at home. Super responsible and responsive. Would gladly hire her again.”
About: I've been actively caring for animals for more than 14 years :). Growing up, I regularly pet-sat for family friends, and my family often took in stray cats and litters of kittens, giving me hands-on experience with pets of all ages and personalities. Today, I have three cats of my own and continue to pet sit for friends and family. I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. Whether your pet needs playtime, companionship, a consistent routine, or extra patience and attention, I'm committed to providing loving and reliable care while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I have a full-time job with a very flexible hybrid schedule. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I can work from anywhere, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide care, check-ins, walks, or companionship throughout the day. I currently specialize in occasional bookings, vacation care, and drop-in visits. At this time, I’m not accepting recurring weekly walking schedules. I'm also fully available on weekends. At home, I care for my three cats with my partner, which allows me the flexibility to accommodate pet sitting while ensuring every pet gets the attention and care they deserve. I enjoy spending time with animals and am committed to keeping them happy, comfortable, and on their normal routine while you're away. I provide care that is tailored to each pet’s needs and routine, whether in my home or in a client’s home. In my client’s home, I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal schedule as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, litter box care, and any specific instructions provided. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and companionship while their owners are away, along with regular updates for peace of mind. In my own home, pets are cared for in a calm and safe environment. I ensure they are supervised, given a consistent routine, and treated like part of the family. I currently have three cats of my own, so I understand how important it is to create a clean, low-stress space where animals feel secure and cared for.
“Rowan did a wonderful job taking care of our Husky and Golden! Our Husky can be a handful 😂 Rowan stayed with them for a week. The house was just like we left it and our pups were well taken care of. We will definitely use her again:)”

“Aaron was wonderful and truly loved spending time with Gracie and Roxie! Aaron sent pictures and updates daily, which was greatly appreciated! He let me know that Roxie took a little bit of time to warm up but then was herself with being a big snuggler, and that Gracie did great on her walks. Last time we had made this trip we had an 8 hour delay, and asked Aaron ahead of time if something like this happened again could he stay, and he said he could. Luckily all went well and we were able to arrive home on time to two very happy and very well cared for pups! Will definitely use Aaron again!!”

“Jeanette (Donna) took great care of our pup. She regularly checked in with photos. Jeanette (Donna) confirmed start time the day before and verified we were returning as planned. Our pup was in great hands with Jeanette”

About: I grew up on a farm in Kingstree, SC. I have worked and volunteered in many positions. I have experience with dogs of many breeds, cats, horses, ponies, chickens, pet birds, and cattle. I also will be looking to adopt my own rabbits soon. I volunteered in an animal clinic and I have experience handling animals from shelters. Walking dogs, bathing animals, and grooming pets from guinea pigs to cats to horses has never been a difficult feat for me! I've done some of these things since I was six years old. I'm available to do pet care for three days out of the week at varying times in the afternoon. I'm between jobs and between moves right now so any work is good work! I've been aspiring to become a veterinarian for many years now and as college has come around, it's been really nice to start reaching for those goals more and more! I'm excited to work with other pet lovers. I currently am offering to take animals for walks and do drop ins. I love playing with dogs and grooming cats so you can be sure that your pets will get a lot of attention from me! I'm very thorough when it comes to cleaning and I monitor my actions in other places and towards other people very well. You can rest assured that your home will be just how you left it and your pet will be happier than ever when you return!

“Friendly, responsive, responsible, and very good with our energetic fur kiddos!! Took 45 minutes out of his day to drive to us for a last minute meet-and-greet and was so kind and genuine! Very trustworthy and accommodating. Will definitely re-book once we next need help!”

“Michelle is the most thoughtful, caring and attentive pet sitter! Our senior dog always has her needs met. Michelle is also excellent at giving us updates, and she is quick to respond!”

“Caroline was a wonderful house/dog sitter while I was away on a business trip. She was super communicative and took great care of my dog Nola! The house was in great condition when I returned as well, could not have asked for more. I've already rebooked her for future trips! Thank you so much Caroline!”

“Lauren was amazing with my 7 year old and 6 month old labs! I was anxious about leaving for a week to another country but she made me feel so at ease knowing she was with them throughout the day and night. Her experience also was a plus! I’ll definitely be using her again!”

“Reagan was great! She sent plenty of photos and proivided updates on how everyone was doing. Very respectful of the house. When we got back, the animals were happy to see us, but did not act like they had been ignored, which is the best compliment I can give.”

“Mackenzie stayed with my dog overnight in my apartment and everything went great! She was very communicative and responsible and I felt very comfortable with her at our meet-and-greet. During her stay she sent a photo and provided updates, and she followed all the instructions for Osito’s feeding and walk schedule. My apartment was very clean when I returned and exactly how I left it. I will definitely use her services again in the future and recommend her for pet sitting!”

“Heidi did a wonderful job taking care of our elderly dog (Josie) who needs multiple medications at various times of the day. Heidi got the meds into her (not an easy task) without trouble, understood Josie's limitations and worked with them, and quite obviously made much of her. After just a few days, Josie was sleeping on the bed. Heidi also kept us well informed, sent us marvelous photos, and left the house spotless. We'll be calling again.”

Carla was amazing! My kitties absolutely loved her. She took such great care of them and sent me the best photos while I was away, which I really appreciated. It was so nice knowing they were happy and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Carla and would happily have her kitty and house sit again! 🐾❤️

Sanna was an awesome house sitter. The dogs loved her and she sent a ton of pictures throughout the days of how the dogs are doing. The house was in one piece when we returned and we do plan on using her the next time we are out of town. Highly recommended to anyone who wants happy pups!

The best dog sitter I’ve ever had! My dog has separation anxiety, and Athena took such amazing care of him while I was away. She sent frequent photo updates, communicated wonderfully, and always asked questions if she wasn’t sure about something, which gave me so much peace of mind. She also took great care of my home. I couldn’t recommend her more and will definitely be booking with her again!!

Liz was fantastic! She sent plenty of photos, checked in regularly, and responded quickly whenever I reached out. My dogs clearly loved her and were happy and well cared for. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Katlyn is absolutely fantastic. She is kind and thoughtful and made us feel at ease about leaving our pup, Albus, for the first time. She shared pics and updates throughout the evening and it was clear that Albus had a blast with her. I highly recommend her and I hope she will come back to watch Albus again in the future.

Elise is absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of Oscar and George while I was away and I never had to worry for a second. She kept me updated throughout my trip with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It's clear how much she genuinely loves and cares for animals and my boys were so happy and well cared for. Her positive attitude, reliability, and attention to detail make all the difference. Being able to truly relax and enjoy my time away knowing Oscar and George were in such loving hands is priceless.

Shiran was over the top wonderful. Kept me in the loop on how the 4 dogs where doing, sent me pics on the daily so I could see them., swept the mopped when whe knew we were coming home, dishes where cleaned that she used, even did a rug clean when the dogs made a mess. Highly highly recommend Shiran for your sitting needs. Thanks you so very much Shiran!!!

Caroline has been amazing with my 75lb German Shepherd River and our cat kit. It is hard to find people who know how to handle bigger dogs and I trust Caroline completely. She has always left my apt clean and I have had no issues with how she cares of my girls :)

Courtney was so kind and communicative before and during her stay, but most importantly, our dogs approved! It’s nerve wracking leaving your pets with someone new, but fortunately we never had to worry, and everyone was happy and healthy up on our return. Grateful to have found a dependable sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Charleston walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Charleston maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Charleston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
