“This was our first time using Rover, and Alicia was phenomenal. We felt such at ease having her in our home and knowing our dog was well taken care of by her. I will definitely be reaching out to Alicia again the next time we need a sitter.”

“Reagan was great! She sent plenty of photos and proivided updates on how everyone was doing. Very respectful of the house. When we got back, the animals were happy to see us, but did not act like they had been ignored, which is the best compliment I can give.”

“Allysa did a wonderful job with our senior girl! She was responsible, caring, attentive, proactive and communicative. She did an all around amazing job! I would not hesitate to have her stay again. Thank you, Allysa!”

“Anna is amazing and took such good care of our babies!!! They’re our whole world and we don’t like to leave them with just anyone, we’re lucky we found Anna because she went above and beyond and treated them like her own! We can’t recommend her enough!!”

“Amy was wonderful with both of my dogs!! Duncan loved her from the start! McDuff took a little time but she won him over! Both dogs were well behaved and relaxed when we returned. I 100% will use Amy again! She was awesome @”

“Katie was absolutely amazing watching our golden retriever, Lincoln. She came for a meet and greet so we could show her around which was so helpful and gave us comfort leaving our doggo with her. She took amazing care of both our house and our dog - sending frequent updates and making sure Lincoln had everything he needed. Would absolutely recommend Katie for any dog sitting or house + dog sitting needs.”

“Jai took care of Maggie, our little black lab mix, for a week while my wife and I were out of the country. She came over for a meet and greet a few weeks before and Maggie was instantly calm with her! Jai sent tons of pictures every day which we loved. Our house was in great condition when we returned, and Jai watered our outdoor plants for us. Maggie got her daily walks and plenty of cuddles! Jai is coming back for another shorter stay later this month.”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I also volunteered at local animal shelters in my hometown, where I gained experience working with dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve attended several dog training classes with my own dog, so I’m comfortable handling dogs, reinforcing good manners, and recognizing their needs. While I have more experience with dogs, I also have a cat of my own and am just as happy caring for feline friends. I’m a nursing student, so I have one or two classes during the weekdays, but I have a flexible schedule and am especially available on weekends. I’m happy to work with pet parents to find times that fit everyone’s needs. My own Goldendoodle is truly part of my family, and I know how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets. I’ll treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I am a nursing student and can make time in the early mornings (6-7:30am) or evenings (6-8:30pm) on weekdays to help in anyway with your pet. I have more flexibility on weekends. I have a large fenced in yard with my own dog that would love to pay with yours, he is 8 years old and is very good with other dogs. I am able to adjust in anyway you might need me to for your pet.
“We just had Athena stay with our Roxy girl for the past week. She was amazing with updates and pictures. She even took Roxy to the dog park as she loves it! Our house was taken care of as well! We couldnt recommend her more..no wait..maybe not as we dont want her booked up the nwxt time we need her!”

About: Hi, I’m Cary! I will take as great of care of your pets as I would my own. I currently own a small calico kitty and my roommate has a petite golden doodle. Additionally, I grew up with a mini schnoodle and a black cat. I can’t wait to take care of your pets! I’m currently working a full time job in Charleston but have plenty of time to take care of your pet! I am very flexible with time! I will make sure that your home is just as you found it. Additionally, I will make sure that your pets are safe and well taken care of.
“I cannot recommend Lydia enough for all of your petsitting needs - she watched our pups AND backyard ducks when we went out of town for the weekend. My husband and I came home from our trip to two content and relaxed boys (our dogs) and four happy and peppy girls (our ducks). Lydia went above and beyond by taking out the trash, washing the towels, and changing the sheets before she left…we’ll most definitely use her again!”

“Caroline was a wonderful house/dog sitter while I was away on a business trip. She was super communicative and took great care of my dog Nola! The house was in great condition when I returned as well, could not have asked for more. I've already rebooked her for future trips! Thank you so much Caroline!”

“Kristin was great! She was available quickly for a meet n greet, was on time, and took great care of my 3 senior dogs. I definitely hope to use her services in the future.”

“Monica was amazing! She came through for me pretty much last minute and took phenomenal care of my boy. He loved spending time with her and Basil (Monica’s dog, they are practically twins). She administered his allergy meds and sent me photos and videos of my pup which meant a lot to me because I missed him so much. I absolutely recommend Monica, she is AMAZING!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter. Sophie was so caring and she even sent over some great photos while we were enjoying a great comedic performance. Our dogs immediately like Sophie. We would absolutely recommend Sophie and will use her again.”

“Emma did a wonderful job taking care of our puppy, Leia, while we were out of town. She was great with communication, kept us updated every day and was both responsive and proactive throughout. Highly recommend and we will definitely book her again. Thanks, Emma!”

About: I've been actively caring for animals for more than 14 years :). Growing up, I regularly pet-sat for family friends, and my family often took in stray cats and litters of kittens, giving me hands-on experience with pets of all ages and personalities. Today, I have three cats of my own and continue to pet sit for friends and family. I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. Whether your pet needs playtime, companionship, a consistent routine, or extra patience and attention, I'm committed to providing loving and reliable care while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I have a full-time job with a very flexible hybrid schedule. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I can work from anywhere, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide care, check-ins, walks, or companionship throughout the day. I currently specialize in occasional bookings, vacation care, and drop-in visits. At this time, I’m not accepting recurring weekly walking schedules. I'm also fully available on weekends. At home, I care for my three cats with my partner, which allows me the flexibility to accommodate pet sitting while ensuring every pet gets the attention and care they deserve. I enjoy spending time with animals and am committed to keeping them happy, comfortable, and on their normal routine while you're away. I provide care that is tailored to each pet’s needs and routine, whether in my home or in a client’s home. In my client’s home, I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal schedule as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, litter box care, and any specific instructions provided. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and companionship while their owners are away, along with regular updates for peace of mind. In my own home, pets are cared for in a calm and safe environment. I ensure they are supervised, given a consistent routine, and treated like part of the family. I currently have three cats of my own, so I understand how important it is to create a clean, low-stress space where animals feel secure and cared for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ashley Forest
This was the second time Rachel has stayed at our home for a long weekend to watch our dog. It was a stormy few days and she took extra good care of our anxious boy throughout all the thunder. Great communication, lots of photos and came home to a happy dog and well kept home. Thanks again Rachel!

Alicia was amazing watching my dog! She was so easy to communicate with the whole time and I never once worried while I was away. I even noticed my apartment was sparkling clean when I got back, she definitely went the extra mile and didn’t have to do that! She’s down to earth, easygoing, and someone I trust completely with my dog and my home. Can’t recommend her enough, if you need someone reliable and trustworthy to watch your pup, Alicia is the best!

We had a fantastic experience with Sandi and would absolutely book with her again! From the meet and greet, she was incredibly attentive—she asked thoughtful questions, took notes about Moose’s routine and preferences, and made us feel completely comfortable leaving him in her care. While we were away, Sandi sent frequent, detailed updates and tons of pictures, kept him active and entertained, and clearly treated him like her own. She even took him on little adventures and surprised him with some new toys. It was obvious from the updates (and from a very happy Moose when we got home!) that he had an absolute blast. We couldn’t have asked for a more attentive and caring sitter. Highly recommend Sandi!

Jenna is the absolute best cat sitter! She sent detailed updates multiple times per day with photos and videos of happy cats! She’s so kind, follows all instructions, and truly goes above and beyond. Not to mention we came home to an absolute spotless home. I would recommend Jenna to anyone! We’re so lucky to have found her in Charleston.

WE LOVE AMY!!! She took great care of Ruby, and of our house, while we were gone. This was our first time leaving Ruby behind, and Amy kept in touch with us all week with pictures and updates, so we knew she was happy and cared for. I hope she is free every time we go on a trip, we will definitely be reaching out to her again!

My wife and I recently moved to Mount Pleasant from Colorado and have always had great pet sitter(s) over the years . Our two large dogs have passed and we’ found ourselves down to our 9 year old cat, Boo. We had a 10 day trip coming up and hired Delanie to do overnight stays with Boo as she was accustomed to that. Wow!! Delanie is 100% “5 Stars” and and probably the best sitter we’ve ever had, and we’ve had some awesome pet sitters. I highly recommend her - she’s attentive, engaged, responsible and responsive. Plus she send great pet pictures and stays in touch with updates without us having to ask - again, wow!! Delanie is our pet sitter as long as she wants the job - highly recommended. Thx! Jim & Michele

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Ashley Forest on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,650 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ashley Forest. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ashley Forest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ashley Forest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ashley Forest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ashley Forest. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
