Dogs are not simply animals, and animals are not simply pets. They are family, companions, and individuals with their own personalities, needs, emotions, and stories. Caring for them is not just a service. It is a responsibility and a privilege. There is a significant difference between a Rover sitter who has had pets their whole life and a professional caregiver who has dedicated their life to the safety, well-being, and happiness of canine companions entrusted to their care. Loving animals is where it begins. Professional companion caregiving is built through evidence of years of experience, accountability, a complex understanding of behavior, recognizing subtle changes in health and comfort, and knowing the responsibility and accountability that comes with caring for someone’s beloved family member. With over 30 years of animal and canine care experience, including owning and operating professional boarding facilities, I bring a level of knowledge, structure, and commitment that goes beyond simply providing a service. Caring for animals has always been the majority of who I am. My connection with all walks of life, dogs and cats in particular, has been lifelong and is always evolving. I have a purpose and commitment to understanding, advocating for, and providing loving, individualized care. With over two decades of experience caring for dogs, including more than 12 years as the owner and operator of two successful boarding and pet care businesses in California, I’ve had the privilege of working with dogs of all ages, personalities, backgrounds, and energy levels. I incorporate all of my experience and knowledge into the services I provide. After relocating to South Carolina, I continue to provide the same level of professional and loving care through Rover. Every companion is unique and there is always something that makes them shine, but I especially enjoy working with sensitive, anxious, or fearful dogs where patience, consistency, and personal energy are essential. I believe behavior is communication, and a true understanding of energy/needs/feelings builds trust and is the foundation of a healthy sitter/companion relationship and success. My life experiences have deepened my understanding through working with animals and my appreciation for resilience and dedication to safety. Dogs have taught me as much as I’ve taught them, shaping who I am as a person and creating a natural, compassionate and loving approach. Whether outgoing, shy, high energy, senior, or adjusting to change, I tailor care to each dog’s needs so they feel understood and respected. Rover is my primary job, and I provide 24/7 care while pets are with me. I also care for your home, ensuring it is respected at all times. When you arrive back home, you will feel the positive energy I leave behind. And a very happy, healthy, excited furry family to greet you! I have access to online veterinary service for minor concerns. I monitor changes in behavior, appetite, and energy, and communicate clearly with you about any unusual behaviors or physical changes. I am CPR certified and I am also certified through NAPS. I am highly communicative and detail oriented. You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and honest, transparent communication. Most importantly, I truly love what I do, and at the end of the day, you will feel proud that you made the best decision for your life companion(s).
