About: Hi - I’m Maggie - your trustworthy pet companion on Rover.com! With a heart devoted to furry friends, I bring honesty, reliability, and a lifetime of love for animals to every pet I care for. As a proud parent to a precious 9-year-old teacup Yorkie – the love of my life – and having grown up surrounded by the joy of three dogs in my home, my passion for animals is not just a job, it's a lifelong commitment. Your pet's happiness is my priority, and with me, they're not just in good hands, but in loving ones. I work remotely and have a very flexible schedule. Depending on the size of the animal and the duration, I may be open to overnight stays in my home. Stick to the pet's regular routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and bathroom breaks. Provide ample affection and attention to alleviate any separation anxiety. Prepare and serve meals according to the specified diet. Administer any necessary medications with strict adherence to dosage and schedule. Engage in playtime activities to keep the pet physically and mentally stimulated. Ensure regular walks, considering the pet's energy level and exercise requirements. Grooming: Keep an eye on the pet's overall hygiene and report any concerns to the owner. Keep a vigilant eye on the pet's health and behavior. Report any signs of illness, unusual behavior, or changes in appetite to the owner promptly. Ensure the security of the client's home, following any specified security measures. Maintain open communication with the pet owner through regular updates, including photos and messages, to provide reassurance and keep them informed about their pet's well-being. Familiarize yourself with the location of emergency supplies, veterinary contacts, and the nearest animal hospital. Have a clear understanding of emergency procedures and contacts provided by the pet owner. Leave the home in the same condition (or better) as you found it. Ensure a smooth transition for the pet upon the owner's return. By combining professionalism, a genuine love for animals, and a commitment to following client instructions, I can create a positive and trusting relationship with both my clients and their pets.
“Kathryn was quick to reply on the short notice booking. She had great communication throughout the stay and send updates on how our pup was doing. We definitely recommend and will book with again when we return to Folly! Thank you for taking such special care of our boy! 💗”

About: I’m a lifelong pet owner who grew up caring for a Shih Tzu–Poodle mix (Ava!) and now care for two dogs: a young Shetland Sheepdog (Maple!) and a senior Border Collie rescue (Skye!). I’m experienced with high-energy breeds, seniors, daily routines, medication reminders, walks, playtime, and lots of love. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every pet like family. Also a proud golden doodle aunt - 70 lb, Ms. Ella!! This is my full-time role! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I already care for my own dogs. I’m used to structured schedules for feeding, walks, playtime, and downtime, and I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s specific needs and routine. I prioritize safety, consistency, and clear communication. We have a fenced in yard, lots of room to run, and have crate trained before! I follow all care instructions closely, keep pets secure on walks, and maintain clean, calm environments. Whether in my home or yours, I respect your space and ensure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved at all times.
About: Hiii! Whether it’s your pups dream staycation, drop-in visits with extra loves, or puppy training needs- you’ve found your girl! I am an avid animal lover and have won over every doggie heart and have a special touch with even the craziest of kitties. I was fostering puppies from the Colleton County shelter before I joined Rover, and I can assure you after rehabbing, training and finding those puppies their forever homes; your animals will be a walk in the park! Personally, I have two dogs 9 & 5 and one kitty. My older pup had a back injury when she was 2, so I’ve dealt with all types of special care for pups who need a bit of assistance as well as administering medications, etc. My animals are my children and I would take care of someone else’s babies as my own! 🐾 I work from home and the pups always have access to go outside to the fenced in backyard! I focus on long walks or adventures in the evenings that get my pups worn out leading into the following day while I’m at working. The huge fenced in backyard is a huge bonus for activity throughout the day!! Bare minimum one walk a day, feeding morning and night, my dogs roam the house while I’m gone but they are trained and older- I can follow instructions easily with preferred schedules(:
About: I've always loved animals ever since I was a child and have had pets ever since. I always felt animals make our lives better and my 3 pets have done nothing but enrich my life. I rescued my cat Drogo when he was a kitten 9 years ago, Link my second cat a year and a half ago, and Kai, my puppy, 6 months ago. All of my animals get along and my puppy is always looking for a play mate! I've done dog and cat sitting for both family and friends for about 10 or so years now when I lived in PA and would love to continue that now that I'm finally settled in Mt. Pleasant! I am in the tech industry which has allowed me to work from home during the week/daytime. I do not work on weekends which will allow me to focus more of my time on your fur babies! I have a decent size 1 bedroom apt but prefer smaller animals as a half a 4 lb puppy and 2 cats. If you would like me to board out of your home I would need to bring my puppy Kai. I take Kai potty every hr and a half 2 hrs and walk him twice a day so your dog would be on my dog's schedule unless told otherwise. My cats are very nice to other animals and so is Kai, again he would love a playmate!
“My work day ended up being much longer than I originally thought it would be, but Heather and her family were flexible and took good care of Diego! He had 1 or 2 canine buddies to hang out with during the day and, from what I could see, they had a very nice back yard! I am grateful for her flexibility and the care she took of Diego. Thank you!”

“Brianna was SO warm and friendly! She immediately crouched down to meet my dog and showed him love. I felt very confident leaving him with her. Drop-off and pick-up was a breeze. I highly recommend her.”

“Christina took great care of our two boys. We received multiple pictures of their stay. She even used our ThunderShirt during a thunderstorm with Cash. We would love to use her more often if we were local. She will be our go-to sitter when we are in town.”

You’ll receive daily photo updates, prompt communication, and personalized attention so you can have peace of mind knowing your family member is in loving hands. I am currently on summer break from my school based job so I am home for the majority of days. Once school starts back up, I am a work from home employee so your pup will have unlimited access to our house. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, and loving environment where your fur baby will feel secure, safe, and relaxed. My backyard is fenced in and my house offers one floor to make moving around easy. I follow each pet’s routine to include feeding, walking, play, medications, and any specific instructions. About: My husband and I recently moved back to Charleston from Denver. I’m currently working from home would be happy to take care of your pets. We have one small West named Carlyle who mostly keeps to himself! We also have a giant fluff ball named Murph who is high energy and would love to play! I grew up on a farm with dogs, cats, horses, birds and love all animals. I’m comfortable giving medicine if needed. We have a house with a fenced in yard where the dogs can play. Dogs must be okay with small children. I work from home and currently have our two pets that I care for. Apart from running errands will be here with the pups all day. We have a fenced yard where the dogs can play or lounge in the sun. We also have two porches (one screened in) so they can have access to the outdoors that way as well.
“Taylor was awesome with our pup Mabel! It was a very last minute request and were so thankful to have found her. Took such great care of Mabel and sent us so many photos and updates along the way. Thanks Taylor!”

“Hannah is fantastic!!! We couldn't have been happier with how Wrigley's stay went. He come home a super happy boy (we can always tell if he's stressed or not, and he certainly wasn't). He got to play with her 4 pups, they had plenty of space to lounge, and outside time. Our dog has some quirky temperament issues at first, and Hannah knew exactly how to handle him until he settled in. Her communication was incredible, sending lots of updates and photos throughout the day. We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend!”

“Brittany was very welcoming to our Poppy and showed us around. Her enclosed backyard was perfect and our dog got along with her dog, Lady. We LOVED the photos she sent and didn’t mind when our yorkie made herself comfortable on her sofa. We absolutely would use Brittany again when we come back to Charleston. Thank you again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. From walking, to dropping in, to overnight stays, I’ve done it all! I have experience with dogs as young as 8 weeks old and as old as 18 years old. After spending 2 years at home on Long Island after graduating from USC, I decided to return to my favorite place - Charleston! I’m now living on Mount Pleasant and working from home for an advertising agency in Manhattan. However, I can never be too busy and I would love to take care of your animals in my free time. I have a very organized apartment. I am an incredibly responsible caretaker and punctual to your schedule and your dog’s needs. I work from home so I am able to provide thorough care.
“This was the first time I used Kim & Dylan for doggy daycare for Reba & Willow. We did have a meet & greet prior to our first day of doggy daycare & They were amazing with my dogs. Kim & Dylan were very accommodating & attentive to Reba & Willow. Reba can be a bit nervous and Willow can be a bit over excited and they made both dogs feel comfortable. Both dogs were very happy & tired when I picked them up. I highly recommend Kim & Dylan and I would not hesitate to use them for doggy daycare (again) or boarding.”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
