About: I have been housesitting for several years, most especially during covid. I am an Airbnb super host and have an inactive profile on TrustedHousesitters where you can read many of my 5 star reviews. I understand the importance of trust and always send photo updates and any other information throughout the services! I am now housesitting with my young son, and my husband will join us when he can over summer and winter break from teaching. Do let me know how your pets are with kids! We keep a watchful eye on him at all times and he is very experienced with pets. Do not worry about childproofing your home- he is an avid traveler! We have been all over the world- including cruises, Japan, NYC and all over the West coast. This means we have stayed in tiny cabins, crowded cities, taken trains, buses and the subway. We are very used to staying outside our home and comfort space and bring all the tools we need to do so safely. Of course if you have any extreme valuables, those should be put away anyway. I look forward to meeting your furry little ones! I am currently home full time with my son, so we have all day to play with and entertain your pets! We both heart-fully enjoy the cuddles, ball throwing and any outdoor adventures we take them on. Of course, I take full responsibility of the pet and monitor my son at all times. I’ll follow whatever guidelines I am given- whether you want me to continue crate training or sleep with them or follow specific guidelines. My son sleeps in a travel crib, which can be setup in a separate room, so your pets will have me all to themselves! Just share a list of commands they know and I’ll practice those too. I can handle any detailed guidelines if needed- not leaving knives in the sink, not dishwashing certain glassware, making sure doors are closed at all times, and always spot clean your home better than my own. I've even been known to do light handy work when asked very nicely! lol.

About: I have extensive experience with many breeds and special needs dogs. I adopted and raised Paco, a Dutch Shepherd mix dog who passed away at 14 years old in Feb./2025. I nursed and managed him through 2 ACL surgeries since 2020. I also had a Maltese poodle mix, Bella, who has had both eyes removed due to glaucoma. She lived with Paco for six years and passed away at 15 years old in Oct. 2024. I currently live with Zeus, a mixed breed Dutch Shepherd who I adopted in May 2025. He is 4 years old and is very well socialized with people and other dogs. My residence and boarding location is Carlsbad (Garfield St). I have provided services at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, the Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa, L'Auberge Del Mar, La Valencia Hotel (La Jolla), Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa, and the Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla. Rates: $120 minimum per night UC Irvine MBA / Retired Operations VP I currently take care of of one dog full-time and can board one dog at a time for overnight or day care seven days a week. I have a 600 sq/ft., one bedroom apartment with a fully enclosed and secured outdoor area that is approximately 250 square feet. I use the outdoor area primarily for short term potty breaks, but generally take larger dogs on walks rather than having them go in the outdoor area, to keep this area clean and sanitary.

I’ve been around animals my entire life and have cared for everything from playful 20 pound pups to gentle 95 pound dogs, as well as both energetic puppies and senior dogs who need extra patience and love. I have hands-on experience with leash training, crate training, and teaching basic commands like sit, stay, and recall. I follow their regular routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any training or crate routines you’d like me to continue. I’m experienced with leash training, crate training, and reinforcing basic commands, so I’m happy to help keep up with consistency. For dogs, I make sure they get plenty of exercise and attention, whether that’s walks, play, or just companionship. For cats, I’m attentive to their needs and personalities, from active play to quiet company, and I always keep up with litter box cleaning and feeding schedules. I’m also comfortable administering medications if needed, providing baths for dogs of any coat type, and handling special instructions you leave for your pets. My goal is to make sure they feel loved, safe, and cared for while you’re away, just as if you were home with them.

“Doug is great with Bruce! We did a short meet and greet before our first full day and Doug was very responsive and communicative about Bruce. Bruce has separation anxiety, so Doug was very attentive to that and Bruce seemed totally happy and comfortable with him. Sounds like they had some nice walks and Bruce loves the cozy bed in the living room so he can nap while still being near Doug lol We have already booked additional days with Doug.
