“Elizabeth truly took time to get to know and care for our girl Sweets. She was wonderful to communicate with and very understanding of the special needs and quirks of our sweet girl. We recommend her and will be using her again for sure!”

“Lan took very good care of Peanut. Last minute I had to change my reservation to assist my friend with her dog and Lan accommodated the situation with no hesitancy. Peanut was a happy camper and the photo helped to ease my concerns of him being in an unfamiliar place. Thank you so much for your care and accomodations.”

About: Hi, I’m Jennifer! I’ve been lucky enough to have dogs as part of my life for as long as I can remember. They truly feel like family, and I love getting to know each dog’s unique personality. I recently lost my own dog, and while I’m not quite ready to adopt again, I really miss having a furry companion around. Rover is the perfect way for me to spend time with dogs while giving them the love, attention, and care they deserve. I’m dependable, responsible, and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your pup needs a relaxing stay, an energetic walk, or just plenty of affection, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I work Monday through Friday from **7:00 AM–4:00 PM** and I work from home on **Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays**, which allows for lots of companionship, potty breaks, and attention throughout the day. I’m also available most weekends and may be available for evening dog walks during the week. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your dog. My goal is for every pup to feel safe, loved, and completely at home while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! • 🐾 A safe, clean, non-smoking home with no other pets. • 🚶♀️ Fun walks with an emphasis on positive reinforcement and good leash manners. • 💊 Comfortable administering oral medications, including pills, if needed. • ❤️ Plenty of playtime, cuddles, enrichment, and individualized attention. • 📸 Regular photo and video updates so you can relax while you’re away.
About: Hello! My husband and I are remote workers and lifelong dog lovers. We have a three-year-old Australian Shepherd–Poodle mix who we adore and truly treat like family. She is well behaved, loves meeting new people, and thrives on playing with other dogs. She’s also very active—my husband and I take her on walks and runs at least twice a day. We understand that your dog is a cherished member of your family, and we will care for them as if they were part of ours. We are highly responsive and happy to provide daily updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. We’re attentive to each dog’s individual needs and make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and well loved. Our experience includes raising a puppy, administering medication, brushing teeth, bathing and grooming, and caring for senior dogs. You can rest assured that when your dog stays with us, they will be in caring and capable hands. I work from home 5 days a week and can take your dog out multiple times a day for potty beaks and walks. We understand that your dog might have a set schedule and look forward to learning about how we can best accommodate. While we have an unfenced yard, we take our own dog out multiple times a day for walks and potty breaks and can do the same for your pup. We have a three year old Australian Shepherd Poodle mix who is a sweet girl and who can keep your pup company. If you prefer to keep your dog in a crate during certain hours of the day, we can make sure to maintain this routine. We look forward to hearing how we can best care for your pup’s needs.
About: Hi, I’m McKenna! I’ve grown up around all kinds of animals and have had dogs my entire life, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of mine. I’m also very much a cat person! I genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal’s personality and making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and at home. I’m very active and would love to take your dog to the beach, out on a trail, or for a long walk, but I’m just as happy spending the day with a couch potato who would rather lounge in the sun. I’m flexible and happy to follow whatever routine and pace works best for your pet. I also have extensive experience caring for senior dogs and am comfortable with the extra patience and attention they often require, including medications, mobility limitations, frequent breaks, and established routines. I’m dependable, attentive, and communicative, and I take the responsibility of caring for someone’s pet seriously. I’d love to build consistent, long-term relationships with pet parents and become someone you can trust to care for your animals again and again. Whether your pet needs an active companion, a calm presence, or simply someone who will stick to their routine and give them plenty of love, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at. My schedule is able to be super flexible on a weekly basis so I’m able to work with your needs! Please let me know exactly what you’re looking for and I can try to accommodate! I have a secure, ground-floor one-bedroom unit with a fully fenced patio that connects directly to the living space, giving pets the freedom to move between indoors and outside while still having a safe, contained area to relax. I’m also located near Beacons Beach, so for dogs who enjoy getting out and about, I’d love to take them for a run, walk, or swim in the ocean. I also have access to a larger home that I can utilize depending on the needs and comfort level of each pet. I’m happy to tailor the environment and routine to what works best for your dog or cat, whether they prefer a little more space and activity or a quiet, comfortable place to settle in. My priority is always making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they’re with me.
About: As a certified Holistic Health Practitioner I look at animal care from all aspects. I make sure they get good nutrition, exercise and interaction with other dogs. I am okay with senior dogs' needs, like diapers or special soft food or medication or even hand feeding. There are no cancer causing pesticides being used around our home and only bio-degradable non-toxic cleaners. For me dogs are supporting and protecting us on our journeys physically, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. I also offer canine massage. My husband and I are working from home and our daughter (19) is currently taking online classes. All of us love animals very much and enjoy being around them... We have a fully fenced yard (6 ft) and 2 little dogs ( one senior and one puppy) to keep your dog company. We have balls and toys to play with and your dog is welcome to share the dog beds and our couch with everybody. Our porch door is open all day which makes potty training easy and gives your dog plenty of outdoor time. We usually take everybody for a nice sunset walk and can add a nice beach walk to the day. We do not use any pesticides or harsh chemicals and there are no toxic/ poisonous plants in our yard/home.
“Julie was fantastic! Rossi was so excited to go over there for a few days of daycare. Rossi loved her and looked happy, she was super nice and responsive and took great care of him”

“Jonathan and Anna were awesome! Took our pup’s energy out and were super flexible when we were late past the scheduled pick up time. Would definitely recommend and would be happy to have our dog stay with them again!”

About: Most walkers provide walks and love. While that works for a lot of dogs, high energy dogs like mine need exercise, discipline and leadership. If your dog needs this kind of care, I’m your guy! Outdoor intense play and no worried about difficult dogs! Two long sessions of walk + play. Love training dogs and dealing with their energy. There’s time for love and cuddles too, but the priority is exercise and activities We live in a townhouse with a big terrace for dogs to chill and play, always supervised. But usually they just want to rest when they get home from our training, walking and playing sessions. Fun!
“We are from Denver and booked Liz to watch our golden retriever while we went to hike Hanging Lake. Liz was SO great. She was super responsive and really prompt. We dropped off our pup early and she was waiting outside to get her and brought her out for us when we got back. It truly couldn't have been easier. It was clear that she took great care of our girl. I highly recommend her for locals or traveling hikers!”

About: Farm raised girl with snow white syndrome. I was a house and pet sitter for 2 vets in the San Francisco area, and I've recently relocated back home to San Diego. I specifically love sitting because it allows accept gig work in computer science. My only animal currently is a special needs geriatric cat that I've adopted, and she has her own room separate from visiting animals. As a former chef with holistic health background, I am capable of providing custom specialty diets for additional fees. I am happy to engage with pets in active training, mental play, and running. I am comfortable with infant animals and special needs animals. Anything I haven't seen before on special needs, I am happy to learn. Absolutely obsessed with brachycephalic dogs (where are my bullies at?!), and working dogs that often don't receive enough stimulation in their lifestyle (cattle dogs, I'm looking at you!). Geriatric cats and dogs are my soft spot. I currently work weekends only while changing my career industry, so I have M-F free! I am able to include runs in sitting care, but they need to be scheduled during temperate morning and evening times (this is for your dog's comfort as well.) I have a fenced yard and a medium-sized standard home crate. I am happy to sit at others homes- if the location is not close enough for morning/evening stops or requires a companion overnight, I request a cleaned area for my floor mat as I do not use western beds. This means houses with active pest issues such as cockroaches or spiders that may pose a health risk to me sleeping on the floor (if overnight required) will be rejected on site and any dispute will be referred to arbitration via Rover.
“Jasmine took amazing care of my dog Buddy while we were away. She watched him one-on-one, which gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing he was getting her full attention. She was super attentive, communicative, and clearly cared about making sure he was comfortable and happy. Buddy came back relaxed and well taken care of, and I could tell he had a great experience. I would absolutely book Jasmine again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

“Jane took care of our Dude while we were enjoying some local haunts. There was an added benefit of his being able to interact with some new dogs! We would definitely book Dude with Jane again in the future!”

“Ari was so wonderful from start to finish! I was in a pinch, needed a babysitter last minute and Ari was immediately responsive and very flexible with my dog Rex’s needs and background. Ari was super communicative throughout the day, sent pictures and updates frequently. Ari was also very patient with Rex, which I appreciate because he could be wary of new people. He ended up having a really good and easy day in Ari’s care! This is my first time using the Rover app to find a babysitter for Rex and I would recommend Ari to anyone!”

“Katie was a dream to work with and our pup had a fantastic time hanging out with Katie and other furry friends! It’s so nice when someone is comfortable handling multiple pets, because the pets have such a great time together. We had great communication Katie, and she was very kind & welcoming to us neighborhoood-newcomers!”

Claire took the best care of Zoey! I could tell right away how comfortable and at home she felt with Claire and Ozzy. 🩷 she sent lots of pics and Zoey had the perfect balance of a longggg walk + lots of comfy chill time. So happy we found Claire and she will definitely be my go to!

We had such a great experience! Our dogs came home happy, well cared for, and it was clear they received lots of love and attention while we were away. Communication was excellent, with regular updates that gave us so much peace of mind. It's never easy leaving your pups behind, but knowing they were in such caring hands made all the difference. We wouldn't hesitate to book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable dog sitter!

Lan was very accommodating and flexible with my pickup and drop off times. She and her husband Thai were very kind and helpfulwith Ruby treating her like one of their own. Ruby did not want to leave their home on the last day. They followed Ruby's routine and did several extras for her. She enjoyed her few days of daycare and I give them 5 stars! They truly care about the dogs that come into their home, and Lan and Thai are very knowledgeable in the area of canine care and extremely trustworthy! Thank you Lan, Thai, and Rover.com for helping me in our time of need! Definitely will book with them again. Sincerely, Julie Lipman and Ruby
Katie is so professional and caring! She put us at ease immediately and was so loving toward our puppy. Her communication was clear and prompt. And, she was also very flexible regarding timing which helped us have a relaxing day away. I highly recommend Katie as a Rover sitter. You won’t find better!

Francinne is wonderful. She offered to do a meet and great ahead of time, free of charge! That really meant a lot to us, because my pup deals with separation anxiety, and I know meeting her and seeing her home ahead of time, helped him to feel more trusting and at home. Charlie can’t wait to stay with her again!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
