“Olivia and Sebastien were so great! This was the longest we’d ever left our dog Millie, but we got so many great pictures and videos we knew she was having a great time!! They were responsive, friendly, and had clear communication with us. They went above and beyond to make sure all Millie’s needs were met / special requests were followed. Their dog Zuko is also so great, Millie had a great time while we were away! Would recommend them to anyone.”

“Linda & Zach are the best! I needed a last-minute booking while traveling in from out of town, and they made super easy. I appreciated their very fast, friendly communication throughout Chunk’s stay. They were very flexible with our schedule, and most importantly took great care of our senior pup, Chunk. They introduced their sweet lab Sophie who was the perfect companion for Chunk, and sent pictures during his stay so we knew he was right at home. Everything was packed and ready to go when we came for pickup. Couldn’t ask for better!”

“Lori is very nice and quick to respond to messages, usually including a photo of my sweet boy, Otis, to ease my worried mind and heart while I’m away and missing him so much!!! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

“Mya was a dream! She took care of our little guy as if he were her own. Very communicative, sent lots of photos, and really focused on Oso, his walks and playtime all weekend long. We'll definitely be leaving Oso with her again in the future. :)”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals, my whole life. This is the first time in my life I don’t have any of my own , and I’d love to give love to others dogs while owners are away. My schedule is very flexible as I make my own. I volunteer with seniors at a memory care facility for a part-time, and I volunteer to do flowers at my nearby church once a month. I have a small, fenced backyard and live by Moonlight Beach. I walk twice a day and would love to take furry friends along with me.
“Elizabeth hosted our doggy over a weekend while we went out of town. Booking with her was super easy as she was super responsive! She took great care of Lynx and we look forward to working with Elizabeth again.”

About: As a certified Holistic Health Practitioner I look at animal care from all aspects. I make sure they get good nutrition, exercise and interaction with other dogs. I am okay with senior dogs' needs, like diapers or special soft food or medication or even hand feeding. There are no cancer causing pesticides being used around our home and only bio-degradable non-toxic cleaners. For me dogs are supporting and protecting us on our journeys physically, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. I also offer canine massage. My husband and I are working from home and our daughter (19) is currently taking online classes. All of us love animals very much and enjoy being around them... We have a fully fenced yard (6 ft) and 2 little dogs ( one senior and one puppy) to keep your dog company. We have balls and toys to play with and your dog is welcome to share the dog beds and our couch with everybody. Our porch door is open all day which makes potty training easy and gives your dog plenty of outdoor time. We usually take everybody for a nice sunset walk and can add a nice beach walk to the day. We do not use any pesticides or harsh chemicals and there are no toxic/ poisonous plants in our yard/home.
About: I've taken care of dogs as long as I can remember. I've taken care of all types, from Great Danes to chihuahuas. I like big dogs the best but will never say no to the small ones. I am currently working part time and in college, I will have plenty of time to give your dog the attention and love they need. I have a fenced yard with a large patio, grass area. We have one very sweet dog, he's getting up there in age but loves to play with puppies and gets along great with other dogs.

About: As a lifelong animal lover, I have experience caring for dogs with different energy levels, routines, and needs. Weather it’s daily walks or overnight visits, i’m confident handling all of your pets needs I am currently unemployed and am home from college for the summer so can devote as much of my time possible to walking, watching, feeding, and living your pets! I pride myself on great communication while you are aware to ensure both you and your pets are satisfied! I can send you photos through the day if that is something you are interested in, and can take into account any special needs your furry friends have.
“Cynthia was a great caregiver for our two dogs over a multi day trip. They were relaxed and excited with her and her family, which we love to see. Would definitely recommend!”

“Hands down my go to for pet sitting. Amazing communication and great pictures to keep your mind at ease while away. For sure will use in the future for pet sitting. 10 out of 10!”

“Cindy is an absolutely awesome dogsitter. She is so kind and thoughtful! She cared for our lab and gave her lots of exercise. Cindy sent cute pictures and detailed communication. Her lab Abby is super sweet and calm. I highly recommend Cindy!”
“Kris and Dan were wonderful. They catered to Crema and she was very comfortable! Just as much so we were comfortable leaving her with Kris. I had every confidence she was in good hands and I was right!! Thank you Kris for a wonderful experience!”

“We now pledge our dog allegiance to Shannon! This extraordinary woman exhibited consistent levels of compassion, care, competence and understanding when our dog unexpectedly suffered from Xylitol poisoning the day before our family vacation departure. She managed his hospitalization, after care (including medication and multiple follow ups at the vets office) and did so with a calm, attentive and caring demeanor. Her unique professional history and incredible heart make her the best candidate for pet care, family care, whatever is happening in life care. We could not be happier with our choice and feel grateful to have Shannon on our family team!”

“Jane was fantastic with our doodle . It was the first time we boarded him with Jane since we just moved to the area and she was loving and fun and very communicative with us . Highly recommend!”

“So Glad we found Danae and family. Their dog is a very similar breed as our dog - super smart - and they really enjoyed having her and I felt totally comfortable leaving our dog with them. They are great with dog and I could tell our dog had a great time! We plan on using them again in the future.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Encinitas
Madeline saved the day when we had a last-minute travel disruption and took on watching our Australian Shepherd with very little notice… She took such great care of him for the weekend and he had the best time… thank you so much again for taking such great care of our baby!!!

This was my first experience with Rover and Diana was fabulous. My little one is a nervous Nellie and Diana (and her dog, Buddy) were the perfect fit. I was gone 2 and a half weeks and she took exceptional care of Exie. Diana was very good about all the little doggie details: walking schedule, food. She is very kind, calm and caring. Could not recommend her more highly.
Kristina and Sean were great with our energetic pup, Barley! Barley was able to fit right into their daily walks and runs since they were already an active family. They also provided daily updates and pictures of their activities and were very responsive throughout the boarding.

Jane was so kind and incredible with our 10 month year old pup. She was very accommodating with accepting our last-minute booking same day. We are so appreciative of her time and availability, as well as her responsiveness and updates during Olive’s stay. She has such an amazing way with pets, and if you’re looking for someone to watch your fur baby- look no further!!

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
