About: I’ve been walking and caring for dogs for over 10 years, and I’d love the opportunity to care for yours! Every dog is welcome, and I’ll tailor my care to their unique personality, routine, and needs. I can make your routine my routine so your dog feels as comfortable as possible while you’re away. Whether your dog loves long walks, runs, hikes, endless games of fetch, or simply relaxing at home, I’m happy to match their pace. If your pup has energy to burn, I’m more than happy to help them get it out. Whatever you and your dog are most comfortable with, I’ll make it happen. You’ll always receive photo updates and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing exactly how your pet is doing. My goal is to build a relationship with your dog so they’re excited to see me every time I walk through the door. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide care throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Whether it’s a quick drop-in visit, a long walk, or overnight care, I make it a priority to give every pet the time and attention they deserve while keeping their routine as consistent as possible. I care for every dog as if they were my own while respecting the routine you’ve established. During each visit, I’ll make sure they have fresh water, are fed according to your instructions, get plenty of exercise and playtime, and, of course, receive lots of attention and affection. I’ll also keep your home tidy, clean up after your dog, and make sure everything is secure before I leave. I’m happy to water plants, retrieve mail, or any other needs while I’m at your home. You will receive photo updates as frequent as you want. My goal is to make you and your pet feel comfortable.

“Tori was a great sitter for my cat. Kept in good contact with me from first contact through the visit. She spent time with my cat and completed all the tasks each day. I appreciated the photos each day. I will book her again.”

I currently work Sundays and Thursdays all day but I can be flexible depending on my client schedule. Request it and I can let you know if it works:) I am great at following any instructions. About: I've been around dogs my entire life and grew up with a Shih Tzu as part of the family. Caring for dogs has always come naturally to me, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals of all ages and personalities. What sets me apart is that I'm reliable, communicative, and attentive. I understand that every dog has different needs, whether that's a leisurely stroll, extra exercise, or simply patience and encouragement. I'll treat your dog with the same care and attention I'd want for my own, and I'll always keep you updated with photos and notes after our walks. I'm a local real estate agent, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be available for dog walks and drop-in visits throughout the week. I love that my career gives me the opportunity to spend time outdoors, stay active, and meet members of the community. Because I manage my own schedule, I'm able to be reliable, responsive, and accommodate a variety of walking times. Whether your dog needs a midday break while you're at work or a longer walk to burn off some energy, I'm happy to help. Your dog's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. During walks, I'll make sure your dog is securely leashed, avoid unsafe situations, and tailor the pace and length of the walk to their age, energy level, and needs. When visiting your home, I'll treat your space with the same respect and care I would my own. I'll carefully follow any instructions regarding feeding, water, medications, routines, or house access, and I'll always make sure your pet is comfortable before I leave. I know it takes trust to leave your pet in someone else's care, so I'll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel confident knowing your dog is happy, safe, and well cared for.
“Simone is wonderful! She took such great care of our senior golden retriever…feeding, walking, and giving her medicine, massages and lots of special attention. Simone is very trustworthy, responsive and communicative, and she sent me photos every day. I recommend her 100%”

About: I’ve had a dog in my life since I was born, grew up with 3 dogs and have taken care of them throughout my life. My father trained many dogs as well as entering into multiple dog shows. I’m currently working remotely so I have pretty much unlimited time to care for pets whether that’s at a house or taking them to the beach. I have two dogs as of now so I know how to feed, cage, and support the dogs throughout the stay with them. As well as taking them on walks when needed.
“Emily was so wonderful during her drop in visits with our sweet Luna girl! Luna loved her and Emily is a natural with animals. She provides excellent updates and is very thorough and thoughtful! Highly recommend her!”

“Mya is so attentive & kind to my guineas! When I explained how to take care of them, she took notes which no sitter has done before. She’s playful and kind to my guineas too. Super communicative and overall the best!”
“Jasmine is an all star! Our pup Tiki loved getting a visit from her! We had some technical difficulties with our door’s keypad but Jasmine was patient while we tried to fix and figured out a way to get in to care for our pup”

About: I've owned multiple breeds of dogs from overly energetic Jack Russels, to water-loving Huskies, to lap cuddling Maltese. I am excellent with dogs and would love to spend time with your fur baby. My specialty is tiring out active medium to large breed dogs, however I'm happy to tone it down to a stroll for your elderly or pocket-sized pup. Positive affirmations and personalized attention are a given as well! I am also a big gardener and am able to water and maintain your garden/indoor plants while you’re away as well. I have experience with caring for disabled dogs and for managing aggressive behaviors in dogs as well. I have full open availability for walks, dog park play sessions, hikes, beach outings and overnight stays. My dog can tag along or stay home depending on your preferences. I will treat your dog with as much care and love as I do my own girl, Chloe. It is a scary and daunting process to find and trust a pet sitter which I understand first-hand. I can assure you I am obsessed with dogs and would be honored to spend time with your fur babies.
About: My very first job as young girl was letting my families next door neighbors black lab out after school every day! His name was Guinness, and he was apprehensive with new people. But 10 year old me persisted, and we became friends. Around this time, I began riding horses. In exchange for lessons, I worked on the ranch. By the age of 16, I was responsible for ensuring the well being of 20+ head of horses in exchange for feed, board, and lessons for myself. At 16, I moved out of my parents home to pursue a job in the equine industry. I gained extensive animal care knowledge and understanding through this career. I also gained my own dog, Stoney, along the way. He is now 6, and has been with me since he was about 4 weeks old. I can't wait to meet yours! Pet care is a part of my daily routine. Having a dog of my own who gets walked daily, I understand the importance of scheduling time dedicated to pet care. I care for pets by checking that they are in their normal mental and physical state. I monitor their bathroom usage, plus their food and water consumption. Along with this, I ensure they get adequate physical exercise, and mental simulation.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Encinitas
Sara was the absolute best! She took amazing care of our cat Archie and send pictures and update each day which put my mind at ease! Her updates showed that she really cared and we came back to a happy kitty! She also went out of her way to help our other cat when we realized that she needed something and didn’t hesitate to help! We will definitely be booking her for our next trip :)

Simone is wonderful! She took such great care of our senior golden retriever…feeding, walking, and giving her medicine, massages and lots of special attention. Simone is very trustworthy, responsive and communicative, and she sent me photos every day. I recommend her 100%

Cindy’s love for animals was apparent during our meet and greet. Bella LOVED her and immediately asked for pets and belly rubs as soon as she walked in the door! Cindy was very conscientious about asking questions about Bella’s care, she was very reliable and showed up twice a day on time and sent the most ADORABLE pics of Bella playing and having fun. My cat means a lot to me and I don’t like to leave her, and Cindy put my mind at ease that she was given proper attention in my absence. I recommend Cindy to anyone needing quality pet care!

Emily was a very attentive and responsive cat sitter, especially considering our request was very last minute. She really went the extra mile checking to make sure her automatic litter box cleaner was functioning correctly and when she noticed it wasn’t working with me to help troubleshoot it. Would recommend anyone looking for reliable pet care!
Cary is a wonderful caring petsitter. She was just the right person to stay with our shy, quirky, older Bernese Mountain Dog. She understood that our girl is shy and needed to make the first moves to become friends, which Cary understood and they became good friends. Communication was great, lots of cute pics from walks and chilling out. 100% happy, 100% would use her again. Highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
