About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover who truly can’t imagine life without animals. I grew up on a cattle ranch surrounded by dogs and cats so caring for animals has always been second nature to me. From raising puppies to loving senior dogs through their golden years, I’ve experienced every stage and I cherish them all. I grew up with two Labradors and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and I currently have an 8 yr old rescue Chiweenie from Mexico and a 13 yr old Goldendoodle. Caring for a senior dog has given me a deep understanding of patience, attentiveness, and gentle care. For the past 7 years, I’ve also volunteered with 2 local dog rescues which has given me extensive experience with all types of dogs including those who are reactive, anxious or strong leash pullers. I’m comfortable administering medication and always approach each dog with a calm and loving energy. I treat every dog like they’re my own, making sure they feel safe and completely loved while you’re away. Whether your dog loves long walks and jogs, or prefers slow sniff filled strolls or cozy cuddle time at home, I’m happy to meet them exactly where they are. I’m reliable, punctual, and communicative and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and messages so you feel connected and at ease. My goal is to become your go-to, trusted dog walker and someone your dog gets genuinely excited to see! I truly love dogs so much and I can’t wait to meet yours 🤍 I currently have a very flexible schedule which allows me to be fully present during my time with dog. I'm available weekday or weekend care. Safety and trust are everything to me. I take the time to learn your dog’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can care for them just like you would. On walks, I stay alert and mindful, with experience handling reactive or strong leash pullers, always prioritizing their safety. In your home, I’m respectful, clean, and consistent while making sure water is full, feeding routines are followed, and medications are given if needed. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you feel at ease, knowing your dog is safe, happy, and truly cared for ◡̈
“Paz was amazing! She took care of everything, that I asked her to do. Sent pictures during the visits. And my cat wasn’t meowing much after leaving him for 4 days, which is a huge win. Very happy with the results.”

“We're so lucky to have found Jessica to watch our cats over the Thanksgiving weekend, especially with our last minute booking. I can't imagine a better pet sitter. She was quick to respond to our messages, reliable, and professional. She sent detailed visit summaries every day with lots of pictures which made the time away from our babies much easier. She took time to play with them and give them treats and they seemed very content when we got home. Definitely would recommend her to anyone.”

“I have a real sense of security and comfort when Ellyn cares for my girl Gretel, my GSD. Ellyn is a true professional with the perfect blend of structure and sweetness that Gretel needs. This particular assignment was to give Gretel her dinner and hang out for a bit so her alone time before I got home late that night wouldn’t be too long. Gretel was excited but not frantic when I got home which tells me her time with Ellyn was enriching and comfortable for her. Thank you Ellyn!”

“Cary is a wonderful caring petsitter. She was just the right person to stay with our shy, quirky, older Bernese Mountain Dog. She understood that our girl is shy and needed to make the first moves to become friends, which Cary understood and they became good friends. Communication was great, lots of cute pics from walks and chilling out. 100% happy, 100% would use her again. Highly recommend her!”

About: Hi! I’m Karina, a 25-year-old pet lover from Encinitas. I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life and grew up fostering both dogs and cats, giving me experience with pets of different ages, personalities, and needs. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, and providing lots of love and attention. I’m reliable, patient, and will treat your pets like they’re my own while you’re away. I currently work part-time as an art teacher and caregiver, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet sitting. I’m available on many weekdays, evenings, and weekends, and I’m happy to work with your schedule whenever possible. I always make time to give pets the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any special instructions. “Aubrey is the best! Looks like our dog had a great time based on the adorable pictures she got of him, and everything was in order when we got home. Absolutely will keep using Aubrey to care for our boy!”

About: From walking my first childhood dog at 6 to caring for loved ones' dogs throughout my teens, I knew I loved pet care! I specialize in stubborn and/or hyperactive pups! I have walked dogs of all sizes and love getting to know each of their personalities. I am also an experienced photographer and would love to capture some frameable shots of your dog during a drop-in or walk! I have lived in San Diego for about 14 years now, so I am knowledgeable about all the best dog-walking trails/routes, especially in the Del Mar area! I can't wait to meet you and your pup :) I just graduated from UCLA and moved back home to San Diego, so I have a lot of newfound time on my hands! I am available throughout the day on weekdays and have no problems walking early in the morning or later at night. I recognize that all pets have different needs, wants, and personalities that warrant hyper-individualized care. I make specified folders for each dog I care for that list preferences, dos/dont's, and any other important information.

“Jiawen!! You were such a dream to work with. She payed such close attention to our kitties who will miss her dearly. I loved all her notes and will definitely rebook in the future”

About: I'm a dog owner myself. I have had a senior dog that needed medication. I've had foster dogs of all shapes and types. I'd say I treat my dogs almost like humans. They get tons of love, attention, words of affirmation, and TLC. I turn music on for them if I need to leave. My pet friends are my biggest source of joy and I do all that I can to adhere to any schedules, special requests, and whatever it takes to keep my doggie friends happy and comfortable. I work from home full time. The busiest time in my work day is from 7-10am for remote meetings. I have a lot of flexibility for walks, dog park outings, and cuddle time. I have a large grassy yard that is fully fenced. I always join my doggie friends outside to make sure they are safe and not getting into any trouble. My goal is to make sure my pet friend has frequent breaks outside, walks as needed, and a comfortable and quiet home to nap and do their thing. There are no small children here. I have 2 dogs of my one - a 10 year old male, 25lb mixed poodle terrier and a 2 year old male, 11lb mixed poodle mutt. They both like easy going dogs. Both are neutered.
About: I bring more than 25 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and other pets, along with the perspective of a lifelong pet owner. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else because I've been in your shoes. Unlike sitters who are away for most of the day, I work remotely as a licensed professional counselor, so I'm home throughout the day to provide companionship, supervision, potty breaks, playtime, walks, and lots of love. Your pet won't just be checked on—they'll have someone present and attentive. My professional background has also strengthened the qualities that matter most in pet care: patience, reliability, communication, and the ability to understand individual needs. Every pet has a unique personality, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I treat every pet like one of my own because I know they're family. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing your pet is in loving, capable hands. As a licensed professional counselor who works remotely from home, I have the flexibility to provide attentive, reliable care throughout the day. My schedule allows me to accommodate walks, feeding, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of one-on-one attention, ensuring your pet isn't left alone for extended periods. Caring for animals is something I truly enjoy, and I love building relationships with each pet's unique personality. Whether your furry friend needs an energetic walk, a cozy companion while you're away, or simply someone to keep their routine consistent, I'm happy to provide loving, dependable care that gives you peace of mind. Whether I'm caring for pets in my home or yours, my priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, preferences, and personality so I can provide care that's as consistent as possible with what they're used to. I provide fresh food and water, regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, exercise, and plenty of affection and companionship. I also pay close attention to their behavior, comfort, and overall well-being, making sure they receive the attention they need while you're away. When pets stay in my home, they'll enjoy a clean, comfortable environment with plenty of opportunities for exercise and enrichment. My apartment community features beautiful walking trails, multiple walking paths, convenient pet waste stations, and a dog park all within walking distance, making it easy to provide frequent walks, outdoor time, and plenty of mental and physical stimulation. My goal is for every pet to feel happy, relaxed, and right at home while you're away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rancho Santa Fe
If you are looking for a kind, responsible, reliable, and professional sitter, I had her come over to primarily let my dog out to potty, but I also have two cats that she interacted with. I highly recommend Brenda. She was very detailed and clear on her availability for specific dates and times requested. She communicated when she arrived, documented the report card in Rover a long with a picture and let me know when she was leaving and that she locked the door when leaving. I will definitely reach out to Brenda again for future support.

Ari is EXCEPTIONAL!!! We have a VERY uncomfortable 11 yr old pup and do not ever leave her alone. She warmed up to Ari extremely fast. Her communication was excellent. You can instantly tell her love for pups (animals) Couldn’t be happier finding her on this App. We will absolutely be using her in the future and are thrilled with the peace of mind knowing our pup is in incredible hands ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are very grateful for Luciana. For nearly two years now she has been a steady presence in our puppy sitting journey. We recently received a difficult diagnosis for one of our dogs (glaucoma) and the daily care for her eyes has become very complex. Today Luciana helped us get comfortable with trusting her with Rylee’s care while we got out of the house for the first time in over 3 months (to join our friends for a San Diego Padres baseball game for the day). Luciana is extremely calm and attentive to every detail. We couldn’t have enjoyed the day if it wasn’t for Luciana.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
