“Julia made our San Diego visit so much more enjoyable as she watched our fur baby. She was very prompt, responsive, and flexible. Definitely requesting her again for our next visit.”

“I'm so glad I found Priscilla. She was able to accommodate a very last-minute booking and I'm so grateful she could help us out. My dog is a little timid and nervous around new people and situations. Priscilla was so patient and kind and my dog did great with her and her two pups. Priscilla was also flexible when our schedule changed, and she kept me updated throughout the day with great communication, which gave me so much peace of mind. I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again, and I highly recommend her.”

About: With over 30 years of experience, I provide personalized care that prioritizes your pet’s comfort and happiness. What sets me apart is my focus on behavioral consistency and specialized attention for different life stages. I have extensive experience in puppy training support, using positive reinforcement to maintain your training goals, as well as providing gentle senior care for older pets who prefer a slower pace and extra companionship. Whether it’s high-energy playtime or calming cuddles, I tailor every visit to match your pet's unique personality and energy levels. My background as a professional photographer makes me a uniquely patient and observant pet sitter, as I am already trained to anticipate subtle body language and capture a pet's truest personality. I bring that same artistic eye and calm focus to my pet care, ensuring your "best friend" stays engaged and comfortable in their familiar routine. Because my 2026 photography schedule is flexible, I am now fully open for pet sitting and can offer the reliable, high-quality care your pets deserve. As a special bonus, you won't just get a safe and happy pet—you will also receive beautiful, high-quality "souvenir" photos of their daily adventures while you are away. In 2026, creating a safe and trustworthy environment for your pet is my highest priority. Whether I am caring for them in my home or yours, I begin every engagement with a thorough meet-and-greet to align on routines and tour the property for potential safety hazards. In your home, I strictly follow all security protocols, including locking gates, managing alarm codes, and ensuring hazardous items like cleaning supplies or loose cables are inaccessible. To build lasting trust, I maintain transparent communication by providing real-time updates and professional-quality photo check-ins throughout the day. My approach is designed to preserve your pet's familiar routine, reducing their stress while ensuring your home remains secure and respected in your absence.
“I reached out to Holly with a last minute sitter request. Holly was super responsive to my requests regarding Wee. I appreciate her willingness to go above and beyond by picking her up from my other sitter, as well as being flexible around whether I would need day care or overnight care for her. Will definitely book again!”

“Our dogs have never clicked with someone so fast! Carina brings such a calm, caring, confident, fun and loving energy around all the time - Carina took care of our pups as we would, and made sure to communicate especially during their first stay over. We can wait until the next time we have to leave dog children behind, but we know they can’t wait to hang with Carina!!”

“While traveling and having to go to the hospital back and forth at UCSD, needed help with my dachshund. Seeing that she has a dachshund as well, made me feel like it was the perfect fit. Angelica was incredible. She is centrally located. Kept updating me with pictures and videos which I absolutely love. Will definitely use her in the future if I am back in the LaJolla area.”

“Odie, Bubble and Pippa just had a half-day trial day with Annie and Ty and their two girls and everything went fantastic! Annie and Ty provided plenty of photos and feedback that everyone was having a good time. They also took all three pups on a much appreciated walk. I feel very lucky to have found a home away from home that all three of my dogs eill enjoy visiting. More stays to come!”

“Thank you for taking such great care of our two puppies. This is our first time leaving our puppies in the care of someone else and we feel very fortunate that we found a family that will love them like we do. We will definitely be a repeat customer.”

About: As a certified Holistic Health Practitioner I look at animal care from all aspects. I make sure they get good nutrition, exercise and interaction with other dogs. I am okay with senior dogs' needs, like diapers or special soft food or medication or even hand feeding. There are no cancer causing pesticides being used around our home and only bio-degradable non-toxic cleaners. For me dogs are supporting and protecting us on our journeys physically, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. I also offer canine massage. My husband and I are working from home and our daughter (19) is currently taking online classes. All of us love animals very much and enjoy being around them... We have a fully fenced yard (6 ft) and 2 little dogs ( one senior and one puppy) to keep your dog company. We have balls and toys to play with and your dog is welcome to share the dog beds and our couch with everybody. Our porch door is open all day which makes potty training easy and gives your dog plenty of outdoor time. We usually take everybody for a nice sunset walk and can add a nice beach walk to the day. We do not use any pesticides or harsh chemicals and there are no toxic/ poisonous plants in our yard/home.

“This was the first time Pluto went to doggy day care and he had such a wonderful experience after day 1 Pluto was so excited to head to Ryan’s house. Ryan and his family are the sweetest and took really good care of him.”

About: I have grown up and volunteered with dogs for as long as I can remember. I currently have a 4 yr old bernese mountain dog who I love spending time with. Additionally, I worked for Dirty Dogs in high school which offered me further insight on pet care. I currently work part time at Mr. Bodhi’s Grub and Scrub in Solana Beach and volunteer at Helen Woodward as well! I work with my dog everyday so I am very familiar with pet care. My bernese is over 100 lbs, so I am constantly taking different measures to ensure he remains healthy and comfortable. I have experience with feeding, bathing, grooming and caring for dogs of all sizes. I am always ready for walks and visits as well. I prefer to meet my client prior to the service.
“Christy did an awesome job watching my dog - she was great with communication and sent so many pictures and videos while he was there! The second day pulling onto her street, he got soo excited in the car that he was coming back and having the closed in backyard was great for my energetic dog, would definitely recommend!”

About: I grew up with dogs, both big and small, including my own as well as fostered puppies my whole life. I am home sick and missing loving my furry friends at home. I currently work from home 5 days a week and have a flexible schedule. I live a very active lifestyle and love to go on walks. I have a very pet friendly environment and have taken care of multiple of my friends dogs. My apartment is animal friendly with space, comfortability, and allows us to tend to animal needs.

She is the BEST!! Thank you for taking wonderful care of our dog Cosmo while we were away. She is very attentive and knowledgable with dogs. He was tired when we got home, which tells me he had a great time and got plenty of exercise & attention. She provided frequent updates of how our dog was doing which gave us so much peace of mind. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend to anyone looking for trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you so much!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rancho Santa Fe commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
