About: I used to have a cat and a hamster and currently own a dog. I have personally trained him and he is now living with my family! I currently go to college in the morning so my availability will be the afternoons along with the weekends in the afternoon and night! I can do boarding on the weekends while caring during the afternoon on the week days! I enjoy playing or relaxing with your animal depending on what they like to do! For dogs, there is a pet relief area in my apartment building however if they are not comfortable with that and/or you have a senior dog, i do have fake grass on my patio right outside of my apartment!
“Alexandra was fantastic!! Great care taker, super responsive, very flexible on time (she accepted the job even tho i gave zero advance notice!). Plus she sent us pics of our dog proactively. Thanks Alexandra!!”

“Lara was absolutely the best at taking care of our pup Perseus. He got along well with her, she knew how to make him comfortable in a new place, and she sent pictures and videos during the day care.”

“Chau is wonderful. My dog absolutely adored her and her two sweet pups—she warmed up to them right away and clearly felt at ease. She came home relaxed, happy, and well cared for. Chau sent plenty of thoughtful updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. I will happily book with her again!”

“Isabella is incredibly caring and responsive. She kept us updated with messages and photos of our dog throughout the stay, which made us feel relaxed and at ease. I especially appreciated that we didn’t even have to ask! We’ll definitely use her daycare service again when we’re in San Diego. Highly recommended!”

“Michelle provided such great care of my little furbaby. It was Chippy’s first stay with anyone, and she made me feel so at ease, communicated with me, and sent pictures! Chippy says “woof woof” which means he had fun!! 🐶 thank you Michelle! 🥰”

“Silke and Jerry were kind and very communicative. It's clear that they love dogs and they were able to understand and work with Amon's separation anxiety. They played with Amon a lot and I think a good time was had by all :).”

“Melissa was very professional and took excellent care of Babe. She took her for walks and made sure she had ample opportunities to use the restroom. Her priority was that our baby was comfortable and well taken care of, thank you!”

“Kat was great! Mole stayed with her while the rest of the family visited the San Diego zoo. She's super communicative and flexible with us. Would definitely recommend Kat!”

“Adrian was amazing! She was super flexible with my changing plans. I love that she gave a full update at the end of the stay so I knew he was in good hands! Totally recommend:)”

“Odalis was the perfect sitter for my dog. She radiates trust and kindness and I felt that my pup would be taken care of. When my pup was in her care, she played fetch with her and introduced her to their dog Jasper and our dogs became quick friends. She has a nice large grassy area in front of her apartment. I love that she sent me a couple of photo updates of my baby. I look forward to having her be my Rover again in the future.”

“Camille was amazing. She took our booking last minute and was super flexible with our drop-off and pick-up times. She was so genuinely eager to hang with my dog and thanked me for trusting her with my pet. She provided pictures, videos, and details regarding bathroom breaks, water, walks, etc. and she made sure to let me know that my nervous, elderly pup was very comfortable and at ease during her stay. 11/10 recommend. Ty so much Camille!”
“Leah was amazing. I was nervous to leave my dogs with someone new but she was communicative the whole time. I got pictures and updates which made me confident my babies were in good hands. 10 out of 10 would recommend”

“Michael and his wife were absolutely wonderful taking care of our older dog Rex. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable leaving Rex with him for the day. Rex came home tired and full from all his walks and treats! We were so happy to see all the photos and videos while we were gone. I can’t say enough great things! Thanks so much and I’m sure he would love to come over again soon:)”

“Hanna was awesome with my 2 barely 5mths old pups...high energy pups! Kobe is usually skidding and weary if other humans yet he took so quickly to Hanna and No a was ready to jump out of the car to greet her! They know great, positive energy. She kept me informed with pics and video which had me feeling at ease as well. Will be booking regular daycare sessions ;)”

About: Howdy! I've been on rover for a few years now. I briefly stopped in 2023 and then in 2024 I moved down to SD. Now that my pooch and I are settled in we are ready to dog sit again! Throughout my time with Rover I developed a number of regular folks that trusted their dogs with me and my pooch. I have one dog, Butler. He's 8 and is a loving and patient dalmatian. And as you can see in the photos uploaded he definitely enjoys the dog company 🐾 See below for my work schedule :) I work in the office two days a week and work from home the other 3. On the work days in the office I am gone the whole time so I ask that your pooch is well acclimated to being able to be left alone for that extended period of time I live in an apartment right now that has plenty of parks around it so to make sure the dogs get exercise we can either go on long walks at least twice a day or go to the nearby parks
“Kristen was great! We booked her to dog sit for the day while we were in San Diego on vacation. She was responsive, conveniently located, super friendly and we felt totally comfortable leaving Gulliver for the day. I highly recommend her services!”

I inquired about a last-minute booking, and Gabrielle was incredibly accommodating and flexible with the schedule. She also took great care of everything, being very meticulous with feeding. Thanks to her sending photo and video updates so quickly and frequently, I was able to fully enjoy my time with total peace of mind. She is a wonderful and sweet sitter! ❤️

Beth did a great job helping Esther feel comfortable and welcome! Beth was responsive and loving towards our senior girl and made sure she has happy and settled in her care. They went on a walk together and Beth was able to get Esther out for regular potty breaks. Thank you Beth for taking great care of our Esther! 💕😊

Nathalia and Michael were wonderful sitters. Nathalia was very communicative and ensured she had all of the necessary information to take the best care of Cleo. Cleo became attached to Michael and will miss him very much. She lext their house a very happy and tired puppy! They took excellent care of my baby and I will definitely ask them to watch Cleo again.

Booked with Jeremy for a last-minute day trip to San Diego. He was responsive, easy to work with, and took great care of my highly anxious Australian Shepherd. Huckleberry seemed more settled than usual afterward and looked like he genuinely enjoyed his day. I’d happily book with Jeremy again.

We found our San Diego sitter! Isabella took great care of Charlie & Charlotte. They had a great time snuggling with her and playing with Leilani. She kept us updated with their activities and really watched them like her own. 5/5 strongly recommend! We will be back soon, Auntie Isabella!

Zannah was a kind and loving dog sitter for Tula! We were in town for a conference and needed help for a couple of hours during the weekend. Our 1-year old puppy ended up having a last minute, adolescent doggie event - and Zannah rolled with it in a patient and caring manner. She is very in-tune with dogs and respects them! Also - if you are staying downtown, she is in a very convenient location. I highly recommend her for your furry friends!

If you’re in the downtown area are looking for somebody in the downtown area. Cara was really good. She was able to take care of Samara my dog very well making sure she took her on walks very periodically. More than other sitters that I have experienced. She will make your dog feel like one of hers while keeping you updated throughout the day. Cara provided pictures and text update's if you’re looking for a sitter, Cara is perfect.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your San Diego commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
