About: I used to have a cat and a hamster and currently own a dog (does not live with me). I have personally trained him and he is now living with my family! I currently go to college in the morning so my availability will be the afternoons along with the weekends in the afternoon and night! I can do boarding on the weekends while caring during the afternoon on the week days! I enjoy playing or relaxing with your animal depending on what they like to do! For dogs, there is a pet relief area in my apartment building however if they are not comfortable with that and/or you have a senior dog, i do have fake grass on my patio right outside of my apartment!

“Amazing! Worked with me in a pinch and kept her overnight last minute for me. Sent me updates and pictures of honey. She did well with the other dog she was keeping too. Will definitely be booking again!”

“Alexandra was fantastic!! Great care taker, super responsive, very flexible on time (she accepted the job even tho i gave zero advance notice!). Plus she sent us pics of our dog proactively. Thanks Alexandra!!”

“Great safe place to leave my doxies for a day while I worked, they were taken out and treated like celebrities. Didn’t worry about them once and got lots of photos and updates, and brought them home tired and happy at the end of the day, will leave them there again!”

“What more could you ask for! Thank you for being so welcoming and making us feel comfortable for our first rover experience. Very caring and communicative. Boba had a great time 😀”

“Jennifer was great with Poppy! She sent alot of pictures and updates, and Poppy came home exhausted! Would definitely use Jennifer again if I’m in the San Diego area. :)”

“I would absolutely recommend Sandra to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter. She truly treated Pluto like her own dog, and I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Literally nobody better. He watched my precious dog winky and she had the best time. He sent lots of photos. Was so communicative. Really kind good energy and his dog Frieda was a sweetheart. If you’re looking for a sitter in San Diego literally nobody better.”

About: I have experience walking, feeding, and caring for dogs, cats, and even quails! I want to help your pet get the exercise, food, water, and relief they need! Just let me know :) I am available until the sun goes down most days. If anything changes, I'll be sure to let you know ahead of time. Thanks! I have a fenced-in backyard with plenty of space to roll around, explore, sunbathe, or sit in the shade under a palm tree with a fan.
“Thank you, Leah, for giving Bodhi a chance! He is just scared but you gave him the space & understanding that he needs in order to warm up and be comfortable w/a new person in his life. :) He really likes coming to see you!”

“Derya and her husband are such wonderful people. They are warm, kind, and so welcoming to both our pup and to us. We felt so at ease having our pup stay with them, as they sent so many photos, videos, and updates throughout the day about their activities and adventures. It gave us so much relief knowing that our pup was in such a safe and happy environment, and he was always so happy and content when we picked him up! We absolutely would love to have our little one over with them again, and would recommend to anyone!”

“Lisa is so fantastic. She took the best care of my little girl and made sure she was comfortable and confident. You can immediately tell she's a dog lover and understands their little personalities and needs. She was so easy to communicate with, extremely flexible with drop off and pick ups, and sent the most adorable photos. Thank you so much, Lisa!”

“My dog and I met with Shane and Chris for a meet-and-greet before I booked them for a day. They were so nice and genuine during both the initial visit and the day-of daycare that i was put immediately at ease for leaving them with my senior dog. I got to see their backyard (so spacious!), and I knew that Ghibli would love sunbathing there and be his lazy self. I wouldn't hesitate to use their services again.”

“Melissa is fantastic! Waddles has stayed with her twice now for daycare. I receive pictures throughout the day and Waddles is always happy and tired when she comes home.”
“Gabrielle was amazing! Obie was thrilled to hang with her for the day and she was great at keeping us in the loop with happy pup pics. She went above and beyond caring for Obie while he was having some digestive issues. Thank you!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes and ages, including special needs (specifically deaf dogs). Let me know how to best care for your pup. I work from home and run the occasional errand. My schedule is flexible for outings and walks. I’m an active person who loves to get outside. Whether your baby wants to get their steps in or just sniff and people watch, we can make it work. Dogs allowed on furniture and free roam while I’m in a brief errand through I expect to be home most of the time. If your dog is not at risk of eating things they shouldn’t then we are good on that front. I have experience with leash reactive dogs on walks so let me know if any temperament considerations I should be aware of.
About: Howdy! I've been on rover for a few years now. I briefly stopped in 2023 and then in 2024 I moved down to SD. Now that my pooch and I are settled in we are ready to dog sit again! Throughout my time with Rover I developed a number of regular folks that trusted their dogs with me and my pooch. I have one dog, Butler. He's 8 and is a loving and patient dalmatian. And as you can see in the photos uploaded he definitely enjoys the dog company 🐾 See below for my work schedule :) I work in the office two days a week and work from home the other 3. On the work days in the office I am gone the whole time so I ask that your pooch is well acclimated to being able to be left alone for that extended period of time I live in an apartment right now that has plenty of parks around it so to make sure the dogs get exercise we can either go on long walks at least twice a day or go to the nearby parks
The median cost per day for doggy day care in Coronado is $45

Great safe place to leave my doxies for a day while I worked, they were taken out and treated like celebrities. Didn’t worry about them once and got lots of photos and updates, and brought them home tired and happy at the end of the day, will leave them there again!

I loved Sandra! She loved my dog Chico as if he was her own, she sent me so many pictures and videos keeping me updated it was amazing. She took him on multiple walks and they kept each other company. He definitely enjoyed his entire day with Sandra. 10/10 Definitely Recommend!!!

We found our San Diego sitter! Isabella took great care of Charlie & Charlotte. They had a great time snuggling with her and playing with Leilani. She kept us updated with their activities and really watched them like her own. 5/5 strongly recommend! We will be back soon, Auntie Isabella!

Zannah was a kind and loving dog sitter for Tula! We were in town for a conference and needed help for a couple of hours during the weekend. Our 1-year old puppy ended up having a last minute, adolescent doggie event - and Zannah rolled with it in a patient and caring manner. She is very in-tune with dogs and respects them! Also - if you are staying downtown, she is in a very convenient location. I highly recommend her for your furry friends!

If you’re in the downtown area are looking for somebody in the downtown area. Cara was really good. She was able to take care of Samara my dog very well making sure she took her on walks very periodically. More than other sitters that I have experienced. She will make your dog feel like one of hers while keeping you updated throughout the day. Cara provided pictures and text update's if you’re looking for a sitter, Cara is perfect.

Came into town for a mini staycation but wanted to watch a baseball game and needed a dog sitter. I reached out to Jerry & Silky and they were the perfect fit. First time booking for a dog sitter too!! I dropped off a happy dog and picked up a happy dog. She was cuddled and went on a walk. I enjoyed all the photos too to show it!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Coronado commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
