Hi there! Experienced and responsible animal lover here to help! Raising both puppies and kittens from babies to adults, I know it takes a village and I'm here to help be part of yours! I grew up with a whole array of animals and know each of them have their own little (or often BIG) personalities and needs and can't wait to meet yours! I currently have a 7 month old Borzoi puppy at home who is our whole world, the least intimidating dog on the planet, and the social butterfly of our local dog park. While I've been an experienced pet owner and caregiver my whole life, the last several months I've become acutely reminded of the work, training, and messes that come with puppies. Ours took a whole village and I'm here to help be a part of yours! From high energy puppies to lower speed elderly dogs, I'm happy to meet an array of needs and step in wherever you need to fill in the gaps. I'm also an experienced cat owner and have had the privilege of owning a hairless cat and cat sitting often for friends with an elderly cat who needs an inhaler so any special requirements you may have, I'm happy to help. Wow! Dakota accepted us as a same day booking and was incredible. She was super communicative and made day care for Anza as easy as could be. We will definitely be using Dakota again on future trips to San Diego.
Dakota was awesome and took care of our pups so well!! Especially when it came to handling the eye drops for my baby Xena!! 100% recommend to anyone needing a trustworthy person to take care of their pups!

Schedule
I'm currently working at a hospital with a changing schedule and some classes throughout the week so my availability is always listed as fully available due to this changing nature week to week. I can almost always fit a new pup into my schedule though so always reach out and we can more than likely find a time that works!

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a large apartment so while we don't have a yard, we take our dog for walks about every 4 hours and usually a stop or two a day at the dog park so she can get some running time in and really burn energy. She is 7MO and incredibly friendly to every dog she meets. She typically stays in a large crated area when no one is home but has full range of the apartment when we are. We are happy to crate your dog if that's your preference. Rest assured, whatever needs you have for your pet whether it's burning energy, socializing with dogs, staying separate from other dogs, etc. we can accommodate.

A typical day
I have a puppy who is either the laziest or craziest depending on when you meet her so I know all about the different needs a dog may need throughout the day. Every morning I take her out first thing so she can potty and we do a quick lap around the block before coming inside and playing. Whenever we leave the house we put her in a large enclosed area with a stimulating toy or treat so she isn't bored. (I make homemade treats both baked and frozen that she loves and I'm happy to share with your pet if you'd like!) We take her out on at least 4 walks a day and usually to the dog park once or twice so she can get extended running in but we're happy to accommodate whatever your pet may need.
