“Julia made our San Diego visit so much more enjoyable as she watched our fur baby. She was very prompt, responsive, and flexible. Definitely requesting her again for our next visit.”

About: I grew up with dogs, both big and small, including my own as well as fostered puppies my whole life. I am home sick and missing loving my furry friends at home. I currently work from home 5 days a week and have a flexible schedule. I live a very active lifestyle and love to go on walks. I have a very pet friendly environment and have taken care of multiple of my friends dogs. My apartment is animal friendly with space, comfortability, and allows us to tend to animal needs.

About: As a certified Holistic Health Practitioner I look at animal care from all aspects. I make sure they get good nutrition, exercise and interaction with other dogs. I am okay with senior dogs' needs, like diapers or special soft food or medication or even hand feeding. There are no cancer causing pesticides being used around our home and only bio-degradable non-toxic cleaners. For me dogs are supporting and protecting us on our journeys physically, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. I also offer canine massage. My husband and I are working from home and our daughter (19) is currently taking online classes. All of us love animals very much and enjoy being around them... We have a fully fenced yard (6 ft) and 2 little dogs ( one senior and one puppy) to keep your dog company. We have balls and toys to play with and your dog is welcome to share the dog beds and our couch with everybody. Our porch door is open all day which makes potty training easy and gives your dog plenty of outdoor time. We usually take everybody for a nice sunset walk and can add a nice beach walk to the day. We do not use any pesticides or harsh chemicals and there are no toxic/ poisonous plants in our yard/home.
“Lan took very good care of Peanut. Last minute I had to change my reservation to assist my friend with her dog and Lan accommodated the situation with no hesitancy. Peanut was a happy camper and the photo helped to ease my concerns of him being in an unfamiliar place. Thank you so much for your care and accomodations.”

“This was my first rover so I was admittedly quite nervous. Not only for myself, but even my dogs caretaker as at 4 months old, she can still have puppy like tics. Despite it all, Linda was communicative, thorough and a joy to interact with. You can tell her family has a great vibe, and that reflects in how they treat their dogs. I’m especially appreciative that we were a bit late to pick my pup up due to some traffic and Linda was so understanding and patient. Two paws way way up ?”

“Katie was awesome! She was so friendly and quick with communication, and was so understanding with my schedule. She took amazing care of my pup, with lots of pictures and updates. 100% recommend!”

“Jane took care of our Dude while we were enjoying some local haunts. There was an added benefit of his being able to interact with some new dogs! We would definitely book Dude with Jane again in the future!”

About: I’ve taken care of friends dogs and have had my own dogs for 25 plus years my son and I donate our time at dog shelters often and I just really love pets So I have Sunday and Mondays off but I work from home Tuesday to Saturday and have a very flexible schedule. I’m up at 5am and free most the AM until 7/8 am I have breaks and lunches during the day and free again after 5pm I have cameras on my property but also can update with pics and videos as requested as often as possible for the owner of the pet
About: Most walkers provide walks and love. While that works for a lot of dogs, high energy dogs like mine need exercise, discipline and leadership. If your dog needs this kind of care, I’m your guy! Outdoor intense play and no worried about difficult dogs! Two long sessions of walk + play. Love training dogs and dealing with their energy. There’s time for love and cuddles too, but the priority is exercise and activities We live in a townhouse with a big terrace for dogs to chill and play, always supervised. But usually they just want to rest when they get home from our training, walking and playing sessions. Fun!
About: Hi! I have my own 2 yr old dog Ozzy. So i know what it is like to leave your pet while out of town! Communication, and following your detailed instructions are very important. Tell me what your pet loves. I work remote so I am very flexible when checking in. I make my own schedule most of the time which will allow me to check in on your pet at anytime. I make sure to take my own pup on walks early AM. But happy to adjust to your pets needs I live near dog parks, i walk 10,000 steps a day, and my pup is very friendly. If you’d like your pet to not to be around my pup this is understandable and we can discuss this.
About: I’ve trained 2 puppies and have had dogs since I was born. I’ve pet sitted for years for friends and family and now that I’m moving to San Diego, I’m looking to find some dogs/pets to spend time with since I don’t have any of my own. I work remote so I’m fairly flexible. I can adapt my schedule to ensure lots of walks and attention. I prefer to pet sit during the week. I can occasionally take care of pets and clients homes. I am respectful of the house and will leave everything as I received it. I make sure the pet is feeling comfortable, fed, and entertained. I especially enjoy going on walks with the pets.
“Ari was so wonderful from start to finish! I was in a pinch, needed a babysitter last minute and Ari was immediately responsive and very flexible with my dog Rex’s needs and background. Ari was super communicative throughout the day, sent pictures and updates frequently. Ari was also very patient with Rex, which I appreciate because he could be wary of new people. He ended up having a really good and easy day in Ari’s care! This is my first time using the Rover app to find a babysitter for Rex and I would recommend Ari to anyone!”

About: Hello! My husband and I are remote workers and lifelong dog lovers. We have a three-year-old Australian Shepherd–Poodle mix who we adore and truly treat like family. She is well behaved, loves meeting new people, and thrives on playing with other dogs. She’s also very active—my husband and I take her on walks and runs at least twice a day. We understand that your dog is a cherished member of your family, and we will care for them as if they were part of ours. We are highly responsive and happy to provide daily updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. We’re attentive to each dog’s individual needs and make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and well loved. Our experience includes raising a puppy, administering medication, brushing teeth, bathing and grooming, and caring for senior dogs. You can rest assured that when your dog stays with us, they will be in caring and capable hands. I work from home 5 days a week and can take your dog out multiple times a day for potty beaks and walks. We understand that your dog might have a set schedule and look forward to learning about how we can best accommodate. While we have an unfenced yard, we take our own dog out multiple times a day for walks and potty breaks and can do the same for your pup. We have a three year old Australian Shepherd Poodle mix who is a sweet girl and who can keep your pup company. If you prefer to keep your dog in a crate during certain hours of the day, we can make sure to maintain this routine. We look forward to hearing how we can best care for your pup’s needs.
“Mustafa came through on very short notice, was super flexible and willing to help out how ever he could. He even went above and beyond in caring for our pups, our yard, and our home. So grateful to have found him, highly recommend!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cardiff
We had such a great experience! Our dogs came home happy, well cared for, and it was clear they received lots of love and attention while we were away. Communication was excellent, with regular updates that gave us so much peace of mind. It's never easy leaving your pups behind, but knowing they were in such caring hands made all the difference. We wouldn't hesitate to book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable dog sitter!

She is the BEST!! Thank you for taking wonderful care of our dog Cosmo while we were away. She is very attentive and knowledgable with dogs. He was tired when we got home, which tells me he had a great time and got plenty of exercise & attention. She provided frequent updates of how our dog was doing which gave us so much peace of mind. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend to anyone looking for trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you so much!

Lan was very accommodating and flexible with my pickup and drop off times. She and her husband Thai were very kind and helpfulwith Ruby treating her like one of their own. Ruby did not want to leave their home on the last day. They followed Ruby's routine and did several extras for her. She enjoyed her few days of daycare and I give them 5 stars! They truly care about the dogs that come into their home, and Lan and Thai are very knowledgeable in the area of canine care and extremely trustworthy! Thank you Lan, Thai, and Rover.com for helping me in our time of need! Definitely will book with them again. Sincerely, Julie Lipman and Ruby

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Cardiff commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
