About: I grew up with dogs, both big and small, including my own as well as fostered puppies my whole life. I am home sick and missing loving my furry friends at home. I currently work from home 5 days a week and have a flexible schedule. I live a very active lifestyle and love to go on walks. I have a very pet friendly environment and have taken care of multiple of my friends dogs. My apartment is animal friendly with space, comfortability, and allows us to tend to animal needs.
“Julia made our San Diego visit so much more enjoyable as she watched our fur baby. She was very prompt, responsive, and flexible. Definitely requesting her again for our next visit.”

About: I have been a dog owner and animal lover my whole life! I am loving, compassionate, trustworthy and responsible. Your pets will receive a lot of attention, playtime and love from me! They will be treated as one of the family. I have raised my own puppies and cared for my senior dogs. I have fostered dogs for Norcal Golden Retreiver Rescue (where I rescued one of my dogs) and I have also volunteered at Pets In Need for both dogs and cats. Many friends call on me to help walk, feed and pet/housesit for them when they go out of town. Over the last 7 years, I have worked as a Personal Assistant/Home Manager for many high level executives and have cared for their homes and pets. I have over 30 years experience with cats as well. I raised my own kittens and would be happy to care for yours as well! Sadly, I lost my 12 year old Golden Retriever, Jax, in October 2024, so I have a lot of extra love to give. I'm currently home working on small personal projects and available most weekdays, so I am very flexible and have plenty of time to care for and play with your pet or pets! I'm available most weekdays and some weekends as well. I have a safe, fenced in yard. We live on a quiet cul-de-sac and live in a very dog-friendly, loving home. All pets are treated like family :) Your pet's safety and happiness are very important to me.
About: As a certified Holistic Health Practitioner I look at animal care from all aspects. I make sure they get good nutrition, exercise and interaction with other dogs. I am okay with senior dogs' needs, like diapers or special soft food or medication or even hand feeding. There are no cancer causing pesticides being used around our home and only bio-degradable non-toxic cleaners. For me dogs are supporting and protecting us on our journeys physically, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. I also offer canine massage. My husband and I are working from home and our daughter (19) is currently taking online classes. All of us love animals very much and enjoy being around them... We have a fully fenced yard (6 ft) and 2 little dogs ( one senior and one puppy) to keep your dog company. We have balls and toys to play with and your dog is welcome to share the dog beds and our couch with everybody. Our porch door is open all day which makes potty training easy and gives your dog plenty of outdoor time. We usually take everybody for a nice sunset walk and can add a nice beach walk to the day. We do not use any pesticides or harsh chemicals and there are no toxic/ poisonous plants in our yard/home.

I graduated from USD and after working in tax and SEC Reporting, I left my Accounting career to be a full time dog walker and pet sitter, expanding Pet Nanny by the Sea. “Jane took care of our Dude while we were enjoying some local haunts. There was an added benefit of his being able to interact with some new dogs! We would definitely book Dude with Jane again in the future!”

“Christian really helps our family out. He’s very communicative / quick to respond and keeps you updated on how your dog is doing. He shares pictures and videos throughout your pets stay and has a great environment for your dog to play. We have rebooked him multiple times! Highly recommend.”

“This was my first rover so I was admittedly quite nervous. Not only for myself, but even my dogs caretaker as at 4 months old, she can still have puppy like tics. Despite it all, Linda was communicative, thorough and a joy to interact with. You can tell her family has a great vibe, and that reflects in how they treat their dogs. I’m especially appreciative that we were a bit late to pick my pup up due to some traffic and Linda was so understanding and patient. Two paws way way up ?”
About: Hi! I have my own 2 yr old dog Ozzy. So i know what it is like to leave your pet while out of town! Communication, and following your detailed instructions are very important. Tell me what your pet loves. I work remote so I am very flexible when checking in. I make my own schedule most of the time which will allow me to check in on your pet at anytime. I make sure to take my own pup on walks early AM. But happy to adjust to your pets needs I live near dog parks, i walk 10,000 steps a day, and my pup is very friendly. If you’d like your pet to not to be around my pup this is understandable and we can discuss this.
“Lan took very good care of Peanut. Last minute I had to change my reservation to assist my friend with her dog and Lan accommodated the situation with no hesitancy. Peanut was a happy camper and the photo helped to ease my concerns of him being in an unfamiliar place. Thank you so much for your care and accomodations.”

About: Hello! My husband and I are remote workers and lifelong dog lovers. We have a three-year-old Australian Shepherd–Poodle mix who we adore and truly treat like family. She is well behaved, loves meeting new people, and thrives on playing with other dogs. She’s also very active—my husband and I take her on walks and runs at least twice a day. We understand that your dog is a cherished member of your family, and we will care for them as if they were part of ours. We are highly responsive and happy to provide daily updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. We’re attentive to each dog’s individual needs and make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and well loved. Our experience includes raising a puppy, administering medication, brushing teeth, bathing and grooming, and caring for senior dogs. You can rest assured that when your dog stays with us, they will be in caring and capable hands. I work from home 5 days a week and can take your dog out multiple times a day for potty beaks and walks. We understand that your dog might have a set schedule and look forward to learning about how we can best accommodate. While we have an unfenced yard, we take our own dog out multiple times a day for walks and potty breaks and can do the same for your pup. We have a three year old Australian Shepherd Poodle mix who is a sweet girl and who can keep your pup company. If you prefer to keep your dog in a crate during certain hours of the day, we can make sure to maintain this routine. We look forward to hearing how we can best care for your pup’s needs.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cardiff
Ari was absolutely exceptional with Venus and Killian! From the very beginning, communication was prompt, clear, and so reassuring. I really appreciated the regular updates and photos from their walks! Both of them came home so happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Ari took the time to give them attention, love, and a great experience. I would 100% trust Ari again and highly recommend to anyone looking for someone reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring with their pets. Thank you again!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Cardiff commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
