“Maya is an amazing host. My puppy had a great time with her and was very happy to see her again. She kept me updated with texts and cute photos. I highly recommend her services.”

“Sana and her family were great with our little brat. She kept a good amount of daily updates and was very quick to communicate with any questions we had. Bentley came home happy and content. Thank you family for caring for our old baby.”

“Angie has such a great home and I think Otis would move there if he could! He found his new bestie in Charlie Brown and had an absolute blast. We felt so comforted knowing he was in the best hands.”

“I can’t recommend Michelle and Steve enough! They took such amazing care of Uni while we were away. Michelle kept us updated almost daily with photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. They were incredibly attentive to Uni’s needs and made sure he was comfortable and happy. Their dog, Daisy, is wonderfully well-tempered and such a sweet companion—safe and friendly to be around. It’s clear Michelle and Steve are true dog lovers who treat every pup like family. I would absolutely use their services again without hesitation!”

About: I have long experience caring for cats and dogs. We have wall-mounted and solid wood cat trees, plus separate private quiet rooms for cats who feel nervous around other felines. For dogs, they get a minimum of three daily walks to the dog park on rain-free days. We offer premium bathing equipment with professional grooming supplies. Fresh food can be prepared for dogs with your approval. I will send daily video updates so you can check on your pet anytime. I am a student and available full-time every day, weekdays and weekends. I handle all pet care tasks, including dog walks, feeding and looking after cats. This minimizes unattended gaps and ensures consistent, proper care for your pets. I live in an apartment. I have a separate private room that works for shy pets or multiple pets. If I host a timid pet, this room will be reserved exclusively for them. Multiple pets can stay in this room if crates are provided. I have spare crates available if you do not bring your own. Crating is optional; I can skip crating based on your preference and your pet’s temperament. There is also an open area in my living room for dogs and cats. All cat trees and pet toys are accessible to pets at all times, and I will not keep them confined to a room constantly.
“Sarah and her daughter were wonderful!!!!! They kept us updated with pictures of our baby. She seemed happy and at ease in the pictures. We highly recommend Sarah and will refer people.”

“Dahui was wonderful with Ella. She is so easy to work with and is always very concerned about the happiness and safety of our little girl, Ella. I felt like she loved and cared for her as well as we would. Thank you Dahui!!”

“Evan was a great find for us! We hate leaving our Golden behind but felt much better knowing he was joining Evan and his family. Our dog loves kids, pets, and lots of play. It seems like he got plenty off this being under Evans care. We set expectations with Evan around food and he was super accommodating. Evan provided us pictures and updates as he wrapped up each day which was great for us while traveling. Thanks for the care!”

“Ann was wonderful. She was very accommodating and provided regular updates. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog in her care. Would highly recommend her to anyone.”

“I could not have left Milo with a more loving, caring, and competent person as Alina. She took excellent care of our dog and had great communication skills. I will definitely hire her again. THANK YOU ALINA!!!!”

“Lori is the sweetest, most loving care taker of Maverick, I am so so thankful I found her!! I know my fur child is being well cared for and has the best time with her & her hubby and her doggos - he literally doesn’t want to come home when I pick him up haha! Lori will be my go to daycare / boarding place from now on!! ❤️”

About: As someone that calls my dog "my daughter" - I know how important it is that your dogs are happy and safe while you're away! I have always been a huge animal lover and grew up with dogs (among other animals such as hedgehogs and turtles...) I live in a townhome in Encinitas with my fiancé and mom, who are both also major dog lovers. As I am currently getting my masters degree online, I will be the person with them all day taking care of them! I have one dog named Fudge- a 10 year old medium sized cavalier/ bernese mountain dog rescue. She is mellow and usually keeps to herself. She is fine with sitting on the couch all day or going on long hikes or spending the day at the dog beach, so we are used to all kinds of activity levels from dogs. I have experience with dogs of all ages- puppies to seniors. I will treat your pup like my own and provide customized care to make sure they feel spoiled and loved during their stay. I am working on getting my masters degree in behavioral analysis online so I will be home with the dogs all day, with plenty of time for walks or adventures. I have a fenced in yard and also commit to walking my dog daily. I can bring the dogs on adventures such as hikes, parks, dog beach, etc if the family desires or feels comfortable with that.
“Alice & Micah were absolutely the best! Our dog was so happy and comfortable with them. They provided a safe, friendly, and loving home for him. Alice sent me daily updates with pictures. I am very happy and look forward to using them again. They are wonderful.”

“I think our dog had more fun during our vacation than we did! Linda and Zach were great. They sent lots of updates and were very accommodating with a last-minute schedule change. Our dog came home happy and tired after so much fun play time. We would definitely use them again.”

“We’ve relied on Kris as our trusted dog sitter for a few stays now, and she never disappoints. She and her family treat Oakley like one of their own, and he’s always so excited to visit and play fetch with them. We have total peace of mind knowing he’s in such caring hands. Highly recommend!”

“Amanada is AMAZING!! I could write a whole essay on how great and loving this family is, but for the sake of the review, I'll keep it short! One of our pups ruptured her CCL a week before our trip, and this was one of those trips that wasn't going to be cancelled or moved. Amanda was able to easily accommodate the updated meds and keep us updated on how Emma seemed to be doing with her injury. Her background as a vet tech helped put our minds at ease and Emma and Otto were in some of the most capable hands during our trip. Our whole family loved the photos and videos provided and Emma and Otto had a blast and made themselves totally comfortable with Amanda and her sweet family. We will definitely be in touch in the future!”

“This is my 3rd time having Annie and Ty care for Daisy (6 yo lab) and I can’t say enough good things about them. They both welcome Daisy in a warm and comfortable way and throughout Daisy’s stay they are very engaged with Daisy and with us. We have chosen Annie and Ty for two daycare stays and one boarding. I’m grateful to be able to travel with peace of mind for Daisy’s care.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Del Dios
We had a wonderful experience with Gregory & Kateri. We were away for more than two weeks, and they took excellent care of our dog the entire time. They were very responsive, sent photos ( kids loved the AI pics too) and updates, and gave us great peace of mind while we were traveling. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog, and we would definitely book with them again!

Mindy & Brian were so good with our Bubba the bulldog! I was incredibly anxious dropping him off at somebody’s house for an entire week, but they took care of him so well! The pictures and videos we received were so cute & it made me feel better how Bubba was so well taken care of and having fun with their pups! We’ve tried a few other places for boarding, but Mindy & Brian have been the best so far taking care of Bubba! Will definitely be keeping them in mind for future trips. So great! Thank you Mindy & Brian for a stress free holiday trip.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Del Dios.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
