“John was great with walking our dogs, our Aussie loves the long walks. Always very tired right after. John is very accommodating and very responsive. Even brought our packages inside the house for us. Will definitely book again in the future.”

About: I love dogs and cats! I own one of each, and have fostered about forty. I have learned great leash-training skills, and behavior management of fearful dogs to help them feel more comfortable. I am fit and enjoy exercise, so I am happy to take your dog on long walks or even hikes! I can also administer treats on a walk if a dog needs some leash-training. Most importantly, I will treat your pup with kindness and affection. I am a teacher, so I have a lot of availability during the summer and holidays. For care in my home, I only live about five minutes from work, making it easy for me to check on animals during the day. For care in your home, I bring my own dog with me overnight. She is good with other animals. I am currently home full time for the summer. I spend a lot of time outside and love to take dogs for walks. I am also happy to chill inside and relax and give scritches. In my home, I have a secure fenced yard outside and a large crate available inside. At others’ homes I am respectful of my surroundings and treat all animals and property with great care.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of many different breeds for the last 8-10 years. I love dogs and currently have one 8 month old shepherd rescue that I have been (mostly) independently training at home as well as 2 cats- one whom is 6 years that I adopted when she was only 8 weeks and another that was a stray that my husband & I took in. All our animals are very loved and having them be a part of our lives has been our favorite adventure together 🥰 I am working at a school this year & going back around mid August but during this summer I will be available to check in/walk your dogs throughout the week because I know a busy workday can be stressful when you have your pets at home that would love attention & fun. Whatever your scheduling need is, I would love to discuss how I can be that best fit for you & your fur babies! Since I already have my dog to walk 2-3 times a day, I would love to be able to bring your dog along with us! My trailer park has a private park and is along an easy accessible trail so I can definitely bring your dog here or wherever you prefer we go! I am close by San Marcos and have taken my dog to Bradley Park and Discovery Lake so we would love to bring your fur babies along too!
“Heather has been a rock star, super communicative and helps us out in a bind or just on our regular walks. I know my dog is getting quality walks and she always reports when there's anything we need to watch or for.”

About: I’ve owned dogs my whole life and currently have a rescue Border Collie mix named Buster. I have experience with reactive dogs and a lot of daytime availability. I’m a bartender and have a lot of weekday availability. I love to walk and hike and would love to keep your dog company during the day. I have a private backyard and am knowledgeable of dog-friendly trails around San Diego. I have a very flexible schedule and a lot of weekday availability.

About: I'm not just someone who likes dogs — I've been doing this for years. Back in Wyoming, I regularly cared for multiple dogs at once, all sizes and breeds, in people's homes. I know how to read a dog's energy, keep a calm environment, and make sure every pup feels safe and settled — especially the anxious ones. I have my own 5-month-old pup, so your dog is coming into a warm, dog-friendly home with a built-in companion. I'm not juggling a demanding job on the side — when your dog is with me, they have my full attention and presence. My vibe is laid back and nurturing. No rushing, no stress. Just genuine care. A lot of sitters are doing this casually — for me it's a craft I take seriously and truly enjoy. Your dog deserves someone who gets them. That's what I bring every single time. I do this full time. So I am very serious about providing the best experience for your pet and you. My business thrives on repeat business. I take your lead and provide the care that your pet deserves. Wether in your home or walking around, I will treat them as if they are my own.

About: Been to a couple of dog care classes. Have had small dogs like I have now, but also have had a large goldendoodle and shiba. Recently graduated college. Recruiting for full-time positions, so open to most hours. Use mornings to work on job search, but afternoons are usually free. Mornings are flexible. Grew up with dogs my whole life. Been entrusted with taking care of my dogs since middle school. Been to a couple of dog care classes.
“Can't say enough positive things about Kristen. Took stress off my shoulders during medical situation. Highly recommend. Will book again. Thank You Kristen 😊 Sheila and TANK”

“Emily has been great walking Clay over the past 2 weeks while I’ve been laid up. Clay usually takes time warming up to new people, but he hasn’t had any issues with Emily. We are looking forward to her continuing to walk him until I am on my feet again.”

About: Hi! I’m a dedicated and experienced dog walker and sitter who truly loves spending time with dogs of all kinds. I worked as a dog walker from 2022–2024, and since then I’ve continued offering walks, sitting, and boarding on a flexible basis. I’ve cared for everything from little Frenchies to giant Leonbergers, so I’m comfortable with all sizes, energy levels, and personalities. Whether your pup needs a quick 15-minute potty break or a longer 1-hour walk, I’m happy to match their routine. I have experience with puppies and dogs in training, and I’m great at following any specific instructions or training plans you provide. I’m also experienced in administering oral medications on schedule and ensuring pets stay on their normal routine. At home, I have a sociable, neutered male cat named Milo who is comfortable around other animals. Because of this, any pets staying with me should be cat-friendly. I’m also happy to offer cat sitting, and I’m experienced in caring for cats as well. My goal is to make your dog feel safe, happy, and loved so you can have a total peace of mind while you’re away! I’m currently home full-time, which means I have a very flexible schedule and can give your pet plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and boarding on both weekdays and weekends, and I’m often able to accommodate last-minute or same-day bookings. I can easily adapt to your pet’s routine, whether that means frequent potty breaks, specific feeding times, or extra playtime and supervision. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where animals can feel at ease. I don’t have any dogs of my own only a friendly, sociable cat so it’s a more relaxed setting for pets who prefer a quieter space (cat-friendly pets are a must for boarding). I also have a secure, fenced, turfed yard for safe playtime, plus access to a great walking area for regular exercise. I’m attentive to each pet’s behavior and needs, and I always follow owner instructions closely, including feeding routines, training guidelines, and medication schedules.

Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, or just extra attention and cuddles, I’ll treat them like they’re part of my own family I am currently fully available and have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to your pets. Whether you need weekday, weekend, morning, afternoon, or evening care, I can accommodate a variety of schedules. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Del Dios
Ariana stopped by for a last minute walk request, which helped me so much. She took my energetic Husky out for a walk/jog and he came back exhausted in the best way possible. She was very timely in her communication and in terms of the scheduled time. 10/10 will book again!

So grateful for the care for Luca, her patience and kindness with my dogs needs. She was easy to work with and was so flexible when there were some bumps in the process due to my fault not having the right directions on the app and leaving a crappy door key. She handled everything with such patience. Thank you! 🙏🏻

Aubrey is great! She’s walked our dog on multiple occasions and she’s always very punctual and professional. Our dog loves walking with her and it’s evident when he comes back that he has a great time! We could not recommend her enough, we’re looking forward to continuing to work with her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
