About: I have tons of experience with all kinds of animals. I have loved and cared for: -kittens, senior cats, and pregnant cats -puppies, senior dogs, and pregnant dogs I’ve also had birds, fish, and bunnies. I have also volunteered with horses and other farm animals, although I’ve never personally owned any. I am currently a college student and a manager at an ice cream shop. I’m looking to help my community and fill my time! I work most days but, most of my classes are online. I am willing to be flexible! I am very particular when it comes to client care. I don’t believe you can “spoil” an animal because they’re our babies! Let’s take care of them the best we can together. Any requests for pet care are fine by me as long as the animal is safe and happy! My animals(I have 3 dogs and 2 cats) all get along well, are fed well, and regularly see a vet.
About: Pets deserve the best! Grew up surrounded by all types of pets, such as dogs, cats, turtles, and hamsters. Have had a cat of my own for 6 years, and I've constantly looked after my sister's dog since he was a puppy. I was the animal-obsessed one in my family, constantly taking in strays. I am a student at a University and have class on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. However, I am free on those days after 5 pm. On Monday, Wednesday, and the weekend. I am free at any hour. I give my full attention to the animal when I am with them and treat them as my own. I am always sure the animal is comfortable before anything. I love to treat other people's pets as my own, and know when to give them their space. Am respectful of others' homes and careful not to disturb space. Instructions are easy for me to follow, and I like to send updates with photos of your fur baby.
“Many Thanks to Heather for taking care of my beloved Josie girl. Josie is shy and timid but she warmed up to Heather right away. That gave me peace of mind to enjoy my trip. Heather also communicated well along the way.”

About: i have 3 animals as of writing this. 1 senior dog, 1 kitten and 1 cat. they all have wildly different personalities and health needs which i have no problem meeting at all. my pit needs diet restrictions, and my late german shepard coyote mix needed gentle emotional help as she had trauma from her past family, my male tuxedo kitten needs to learn to chill because hed set off a bomb then eat trash if he could, and my runt calico is very picky about what she eats and when you can touch her. all of this i happily handle as i pride myself on knowing animal body language and making sure they get the best care they can based on what they need. I am a full time university student so my schedule will change 2x a year BUT i am very flexible despite that. I make time for my own animals so i can absolutely make time for another’s animals to put your mind at ease. I provide my bets with necessary diets they each need, comfort they all need or want, play they need or want, and do my best to read body language to figure out something i cant immediately tell. I always have food and water out, multiple beds and blankets everywhere for them to sleep, and multiple treats to give when I come home to them.
“Ana is Absolutely wonderful! Stella lights up the moment Ana arrives. She is gentle, reliable, and treats my pup with so much love. I always feel at ease knowing my baby is in the best hands. Truly a gem”

“Emily helped us out when I was recovering from surgery. Our dog Clay instantly liked her and loved going on his daily walks with her. I will definitely ask her to help out again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone who asks.”
About: I have experience caring for pets of different ages and personalities through both my own pets and pet sitting for friends while they’re away. I currently care for two pets of my own- an orange 9 year old tabby and a one year old kitten. I take the time to understand each pets personality and make sure they feel comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m currently a college student on summer break and work part-time, but I keep a flexible schedule and am especially available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I understand how important routines are for pets and make sure they receive the attention, care, and consistency they need while their owners are away.
“Jessica is amazing! We have a puppy that still needs some training and Jessica makes sure to follow that on walks and gives us updates on how she does everyday. She’s responsive and responsive.”

About: I have always had dogs around or as pets growing up. I have experience in administering medication orally and topically as I had a senior dog who was diagnosed with cancer. I currently have two dogs: 3 year old and 8 months. I have training experience as I worked with trainers with my own dogs. I’ll have plenty of time to give your fur baby attention and short / long walks. I have a subcompact SUV where I can take them to the dog parks nearby if allowed. I crate train my youngest fur baby and keep her on potty schedules in the evening. My 3 year old is completely potty trained and roams freely lounging.

About: I am lifelong animal lover, experienced pet sitter, and proud cat mom. I’m a current graduate student new to the San Diego area, with over 10 years of experience caring for pets of all kinds. As a fellow pet parent, I understand how important it is to find someone you trust. I’m reliable, attentive, and committed to making your pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits into my routine seamlessly! As a graduate student with a flexible schedule, I’m able to plan my day around the needs of the pets I care for. Whether it's early morning feedings, midday walks, or evening check-ins, I have the availability to be present and consistent. As a reliable pet sitter with many years of experience, I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment for every pet I care for. While I’m currently unable to offer in-home boarding, I’m happy to care for pets in their own home where they feel most secure and at ease. I follow each pet's routine closely and will gladly provide updates so you can feel confident they’re in good hands while you’re away.
“I am so happy that my daughter found Tamara to help me with my pets. She is so sweet and kind with them, and me! She is a keeper and I definitely will be using her again and again.”

About: I’ve spent over 10 years caring for animals through lifelong pet ownership and volunteer work with the San Diego Humane Society, where I was instilled with the Fear Free Training philosophy. I’m comfortable with different temperaments and always follow your pet’s routine to keep things consistent and stress-free. I’m currently working part-time with a flexible schedule! Feel free to let me know what your needs are and we’ll make it work. I come to you. Routine is #1 when it comes to making pets feel safe and secure. Let me know what your fur baby is used to and what their preferences are and I’ll make sure to accommodate them as much as they need!
About: I’ve had pets my entire life, growing up with multiple dogs and cats in my home in Colorado (5 dogs and 5 cats over the years). I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, litter care, and making sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and cared for. I currently have my own cat, Flynn, and also have experience with smaller pets like hamsters and fish. I love being around animals and treat every pet like they’re my own. I work part-time as a basketball coach, so I’m typically available during the day. I also have flexibility to stop by in the evenings after practice if needed! I keep things calm and consistent so pets feel comfortable and safe. I follow routines closely and make sure they’re well taken care of during every visit.

About: I love dogs and cats! I own one of each, and have fostered about forty. I have learned great leash-training skills, and behavior management of fearful dogs to help them feel more comfortable. I am fit and enjoy exercise, so I am happy to take your dog on long walks or even hikes! I can also administer treats on a walk if a dog needs some leash-training. Most importantly, I will treat your pup with kindness and affection. I am a teacher, so I have a lot of availability during the summer and holidays. For care in my home, I only live about five minutes from work, making it easy for me to check on animals during the day. For care in your home, I bring my own dog with me overnight. She is good with other animals. I am currently home full time for the summer. I spend a lot of time outside and love to take dogs for walks. So grateful for the care for Luca, her patience and kindness with my dogs needs. She was easy to work with and was so flexible when there were some bumps in the process due to my fault not having the right directions on the app and leaving a crappy door key. She handled everything with such patience. Thank you! 🙏🏻

Heather is awesome with Stella. She's very kind and patient. Heather goes above and beyond to take care of my baby. My Stella is sometimes a challenge when other doggos are in the area but Heather handles it wonderfully. Thank you so much for caring for Stella! Until next time 😊

Megan is so friendly and her presence brings a warm energy. She is so professional, consistent, calm and kind. She helped keep our senior pup on his typical walk schedule so seamlessly. Her support brought an extra level of peace to us, so important especially while traveling. Looking forward to more booknhs with Megan!

Diane was great with my baby girl!! My dog is shy around new people and often hides under things if I’m not around. Diane was able to coax her out from her hiding place and take her outside for a little pee break! I would definitely recommend using her to take care of your pup!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
