“Laura is an amazing dog walker, she is very flexible with my work schedule and always makes sure my dogs are well taken care of! Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for dog care!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of many different breeds for the last 8-10 years. I love dogs and currently have one 8 month old shepherd rescue that I have been (mostly) independently training at home as well as 2 cats- one whom is 6 years that I adopted when she was only 8 weeks and another that was a stray that my husband & I took in. All our animals are very loved and having them be a part of our lives has been our favorite adventure together 🥰 I am working at a school this year & going back around mid August but during this summer I will be available to check in/walk your dogs throughout the week because I know a busy workday can be stressful when you have your pets at home that would love attention & fun. Whatever your scheduling need is, I would love to discuss how I can be that best fit for you & your fur babies! Since I already have my dog to walk 2-3 times a day, I would love to be able to bring your dog along with us! My trailer park has a private park and is along an easy accessible trail so I can definitely bring your dog here or wherever you prefer we go! I am close by San Marcos and have taken my dog to Bradley Park and Discovery Lake so we would love to bring your fur babies along too!
“Lauren has been one of my regular dog walkers for a few months now and we couldn't be happier! My dog loves her and she takes great care of him, paying attention to the little things, like making sure he gets enough water. Shes a great communicator and flexible with my changing schedule. Cant recommend enough! Thank you Lauren!”

About: I grew up with many cats and adopted/foster dogs and began volunteering at my local animal shelter when I was 16. Through these experiences, I have cared for dogs and cats of all ages and levels of timidness. Three years ago, I adopted a previously-abused, very insecure Siberian husky who, with patience and love, has blossomed into a super friendly and confident dog. I am currently getting my Masters in Business online and working part time. My school schedule is very flexible and I am available for day-of bookings. I will care for your pets as if they’re my own and am dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment. I know how intimidating strangers can be for some pets and how important having patience is. I am detail-oriented and will follow any instructions to a tee and be very respectful of your home if providing drop in visits. I believe in thorough communication and provide consistent updates to ensure peace of mind.
“Azucena is WONDERFUL! She is reliable and has great communication. She walks my doggy when needed, who loves her, by the way! And she has house sitted for us while we were out of town. She sent me pics and kept me updated the entire time. She really is a gem and a Godsend. She goes above and beyond. She will continue to be my go-to walker/sitter!”

“Bruno is the absolute best dog walker of all time! He’s taken such good care of my energetic dog Riley with midday walks everyday that I work - a total of 16 for the month of August. Rest assured your doggo is in good hands with Bruno. He’s super thorough, sending the sweetest pictures everyday and writing up a summary of how your pup did during his time with them. Bruno was also super flexible and able to accommodate morning and evening check-in’s on short notice over a weekend! It was the first time I had ever been away from my dog for more than a day and Bruno kept me up-to-date on how she was doing and brought me such peace of mind during my trip. He’s the best!”

“Megan was available to come walk my dog for me last minute as I was in a bind which was so helpful since I work 45mins away from home. She let me know how she did on the first day which relieved a lot of my dog mom anxiety as my dog is a bit anxious/shy with new people.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and rabbits for neighbors and friends since I was 10. I grew up with dogs, and loved helping train them. I have found great success with force free training! I am a student, so I have time during the week for dog walks and at home check ins! I may have occasional weekend availability as well, but will be able to help out most on weekdays. I don’t offer care for pets at my home, but I am happy to work with whatever requests you have. I am very flexible and happy to accommodate specific rules if needed, I know every pet has their own quirks :)
“Collette is super responsive and is great with my dog. She's super adaptable when things change and goes above and beyond to care and do what's best for my pet. I will be booking her again.”

“Christina did a great job checking in on my dog and taking him for a walk. Everything went smoothly, she was reliable, and I had no issues at all. I’d definitely book with her again!”

“Samantha takes such great care of dog Malikai! She communicates well and even does little things like bringing in packages that are on our porch. We can’t recommend her enough! Thank you!”

“We had a great experience with Dana. She was very communicative, kept us updated regularly, and was always on time for visits. I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog, Sierra, in her care, which gave me real peace of mind. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy dog walker!”

“Joleen is fantastic! She approaches the services she provides with a loving and authentic care for your fur baby. She goes above and beyond in keeping you informed and in creating a loving environment for your pet and she genuinely cares. Me and my dog are so blessed to have found Joleen! Thank you Joleen 🙏🏼”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Vista
Sam was wonderful to work with! Pepper is a little cautious around new people (she prefers to conduct interviews from under the bed 😄), and Sam was patient, kind, and respectful of her pace. Communication was excellent, and when Pepper unexpectedly got sick and we had to cancel the remaining walks, Sam was incredibly understanding and compassionate. We really appreciate her professionalism and look forward to working with her again when Pepper is back in Vista.

Katherine did an excellent job caring for my pup kiwi! Kiwi has a lot of quirks, and Katherine accepted all of them with open arms. She was also able to give kiwi her medication after the walk, so I was very appreciative of that as well. She responded quickly and was very kind. Will definitely be booking again!

BEST DOG SITTER/WALKER EVER!!! My dog adored her and she took the happiest photos of my pup. I don’t know how she does it, but my dog looked as happy as the day I brought her home! She took her time, extending the walk free of charge and she made the most of it, playing catch and walking far! They must’ve gone on some epic hike because they both came back out of breath lol. Highly recommend Ana!!

I had to travel but didn't want to kennel my two senior dogs as they are rescues and didn't do well in shelter. I decided to check out Rover and took the plunge to message Madison. She was very responsive and so I booked her to take care of my precious dogs. She was very kind and responded quickly to my many messages! She tools great care of my dogs and took them on long walks and was sure to give medication as requested. I highly recommend booking Madison. I will 100% be booking her again in the future.

Mireya was wonderful. We booked her last min and she just rolled with the punches. Great communication. Our little Cookie usually takes a LONG time to warm up, but she actually hung out and even ate her dinner for Mireya. Winston fell in love and I’m sure he can’t wait to see her again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
